He fixed Bia with a steely, if somewhat blurred, glare, waiting on the apology he expected and would have likely demanded had he been a little more drunk and Em not been there. When it was not forthcoming, he simply shook his head and turned his focus back to Emelyn, only to lift his eyes to scan the room with her words. "I met one other lad t'night who arrived two days ago, but aside from him and Bia, no others. I don't know...at least 'alf of th' people 'ere, though."

Tommy walks back inside the tent after a break to clear his head...the loud music seems to be getting to him. That, or the fact that he's clutching a bottle of tequila about 3/4ths the way ful (which is an odd reddish color for some reason). He looks around, a grin on his face. It's been too damn long since Cancun...thank God I can still drink this s**t...

The sedated mess glanced up from his cigarette and the cane clutched to his chest, his eyes not quite blinking in unison just befor his cheak jumped in a nervious tick. His head lolled at the sound of his name being called, and it took him a few good minutes befor he realized just who he was looking at, "F'it 'aint... th'kid... wit' th'speak-easy..." At that, he gave a sluggish, manic laugh, as though he felt this was the funniest joke imaginable.

Emerwyn managed to maintain half-decent footing out of the tent, in toe with the Lion. It was the perfect mismatch. Emerwyn thought nothing of it.
Her first thought was just how wonderful the breeze felt on her flushed face. She stepped out, spreading her arms wide and spinning in wide circles. Her loose sleeves fluttered and her skirt blew up, revealing a couple of layers of petticoat.

"I... don't know." Bia's eyes wormed away from Thom's as if their compositions were akin to oil against water- and sidled up to the drink table and filled a cup far too full of a strawberry scented liquor which was undoubtedly stronger than its sweet, heady smell suggested. She was not a shy woman, but certainly not as comfortable in her own skin as most- and in situations like these, she would have been much more content to listen for a long while before ever thinking about jumping in. Those people who were so social that they attempted to include everyone- even those they barely knew- in a conversation upon just meeting them- they were seen as blessings by many, but not to ones such as Bia. To Bia, those social-inclusions were the death of her, and of her inability to absorb a situation fully before feeling comfortable in it. In her own self-possessed, needling way, Bia Grey longed for control in all things. In this one, she did not even slightly feel like she had a handle on it.
Perhaps it was the burgeoning bird within her- or maybe they were more human nerves- but she began to down the contents of her cup with an almost frightening speed.

"If she died... I would've..." He made a poorly aimed throat-slitting motion with one finger, the sharp claw grazing one of the scales on the underside of his neck. His tail swung about in agitation before curling around one of his legs.
"Master among who? I dunno about any of that... he picked my ssserum, I think he even picked me sss... ssspecifically. He's a little weird sssometimes, but he sssaved my life twice... once from Moreau, and once from that... that ******** cobra!" he spat. The room was definitely spinning now. He slumped into a chair next to the table, then jumped and leaned forward when his wings got crushed.
"Don' even know his name ssstill. Stupid... stupid... but Sssabin dealt with him." He grinned mischeviously at Ginerva. "Got 'im reeeeally good, I saw. I don' know how but I think it had a lotta bugs involved... owe him so much. I gotta ask 'im."

Sid was too busy mixing a drink, seemingly taking bottles at random, to offer more than a distracted hello to Gaius at first. He turned around just Billy started laughing. "Oh," he said as he raised the glass. "You two know each other?"
Since sipping was a monumentally difficult task with lips that just wouldn't come together, Sid threw back the drink all in one go. He coughed once, shook his head, and laughed. "Heh, ******** that one up." By that he must have meant the mix of ingredients.

"They just keep coming." It was a statement based off of Thom's- though Emelyn had nodded at Bia's words as if they, too, had held an answer to her question. The hedgehog-woman would not understand how this act of inclusion would fluster Bia, rather than disarm her anxieties and make her feel more comfortable. It's the true story that no matter how you try to make those around you feel comfortable, included, and happy- there will always be at least one who will feel quite the opposite. Emelyn had not yet learned in her life that there are some people who you will be unable to get along with- to sway to 'your side'- no matter what. Even with all that had happened to her, and to Mizzie- there was still a place deep within her where Emelyn held dear the belief that the world was an essentially fair place. We should all pray that her belief is never disproven- and that she holds it in her heart always. For no matter how false a notion may be that everyone is good, and that everyone can get along...
What would the world be like, if not for the few who labor on in ignorant innocence... that everything will turn out okay? What dark stain on truth can truly be a threat by these few blithe sunspots? Some ignorances... should be protected. Even cherished.

Gaius stopped in front of the two, leveling Billy with a frown. "Yeah, that's me, and yes, I know him... Where the hell have you been, anyways?"
He looked the octopus over. The way he behaved... something was off, but his memories from their last encounter were so skewed, Billy could've been acting 'normal' for all he knew. "What happened to our deal? I was dropping off the goods like you told me to. Why weren't you picking them up?"

Chubbs grunted when he found himself bumped into by someone. He guess the place was getting crowded, that or he was in the way. Finishing his bite of food, he turned to find an old guy looking at him and apologising. This was no guy he's seen in his stay on the island.
" No problems"
It wasn't a big deal, getting bumped into. Chubbs happened to notice that his guy had a few extra buddies with him... on his back! Chubbs stared for a bit at him and tried to figure out what his serum was. He motioned at the extra limbs.
" Octopus too?"

Rex was ready to catch her if she tripped, though he also used her as a support from his slightly tilted world. When she took off spinning Rex was concerned that she'd eat it and get hurt for the rest of the night, though those concerns dissipated the instant he saw her skirt flutter about. Oh no you didn't Ms. Nature. But it was almost as if he'd become a lost cause.
Slowly, Rex could notice a change of emotions boiling up inside him. He certainly found Emer attractive, but this was something a bit deeper than just "a possibility." The primal lion wanted something to happen now, and things like underwear only made the time it took to occur go by a bit faster.
"Glad to see we're having some fun." He laughed and sipped from the cup in his hand, trying to act as casual as he could while suppressing his new feelings.

Oh, Ginerva knew about Sabin's punishment on Thomas... It was truly a masterful piece of work. She giggled despite herself.
"His name is Thomas - Thom. I know of the one. It's good that he got what was coming to him. Subjects need to be told what their place is."

Sid's mouth slipped a little wider with Gaius's mention of the deal. "So that's what it was about!" He glanced between them both he and Billy, the pain killers helping to make the news far more shocking than it really was. "I had no idea, man... Never woulda guessed..." He raised one blue, webbed finger as a thought struck. "I need another drink."
That said, he turned back to fix one.

"Deal... bloody.. feckin'... deal..." Billy lifted his smoke in a trembling tentacle tip to his purple lips, giving a deep inhale as he glared up at the young man in front of him, "S'all... yer... bloody fault! F'I weren't.... bloody pissed off me... rocker I'd ne'er ha-" He cut off, too worked up for his collar to not notice, flicker, and buzz with a delicious concoction that made him sag in his chair and seep a bit of black liquid from the corner of his mouth.

He grunted a reply, but didn't seemed terribly interested in the conversation any longer. The brief encounter with Bia had left him rather irritated, and that combined with the alcohol was quicking bringing on a headache. "I'm goin' t'see if I can't clear my 'ead a bit. Shouldn't 'ave 'ad so much t' drink." He grimaced, then nodded a goodbye to the hedgehog woman--and, somewhat grudgingly, towards Bia--before retrieving his cane and hat and escaping out of the tent.
