That rule would be perfectly fine, IF they changed points to match it. as it is, though, they cost exactly the same as a Marine with grenades, but they get special guns that deal a glancing hit oin a 6, no matter what, AND the we'll be back rule. with those, necrons should be at LEAST 20 points per model.

-Sigh-
I just heart Necron Cheese players...
The only good thing about "We'll be back" is phasing out. Most Necrons don't take enough base type Necrons so you can concentrate all your fire on them ignore things lile pariahs and such. Boom! You phase em out rather quickly.

The reason Necrons get stomped on by eldar is that thery are similar to Space Marines, which if an eladr army is tooled right can easily beat a necron and Space Marine army. Starcannons and a alot of them. I'm currently in Vancouver for Comflict Vncouver and my 1500 point army list is Beil-Tan just so I can get that many points. Anywho, I geared towards beating high save models. 3 squads of Dark Reapers with 2 sqauds of 4 and a sqaud of 4 each lead by an exarch with missile launcher and fastshot and crack shot. There goes alot of Space Marines, and for those termies I got 3 starcannons, two on my elite guardian defender squads of 5 and one on my wraithlord. Just kinda....well not really I had points left over I have a vibro cannon. So I'm more of a nemisis army, so if I face an Orc or Imp army I'll certainly have my hands full.

Thye have orders suppposedly from their star gods, dont need a motivator better then that.

Just played a 1,000 point game vs. Necrons. I was pretty much all shooting besides my Wraithlord and Striking Scorpions. Rangers, Dark Reapers, Vypers, Guardians, all kinds of ranged stuff. He took all Necron Warriors and one Lord with 4 Destroyers. Now I know that my strategy on this map is good and that my army is well balanced because I just wrecked the other 4 guys in the GW store. In the FIRST round, before I had my turn, the Necron b*****d killed my 10 man Striking Scorpion squad, one of my Vypers, 10 Guardians, and then took a wound off my Farseer. So I concentrated my firepower for a conter-attack. 9 Rangers, 2 Dark Reapers, a Dark Reaper Exarch with a Missle Launcher, and my Wraithlord with his Starcannon unloaded into one squad. I shot my Vyper with a Bright Lance at the Destroyers and I took down one, and I used Mind War with my Farseer while my remaining 10 Guardians pounded another Warrior squad. Well.... every one of them fell down but one out of the first squad (The one the Rangers and whatnot were firing into), and 5 fell out of the 2nd squad (The one with my Farseer and Guardians firing at them), but however, fate didn't like me... he made ********- we'll be back roll, including the Destroyers. Next round I resigned as he killed my remaining Vyper, Farseer, Guardians, and a Dark Reaper. If you at all can justify the imbalance in the Necron army, then please, tell me. Good luck convincing me however. Yes, they are the most technologically advanced and oldest race in the universe, but if they are that powerful they shouldn't be allowed into the game unless it translates points wise. Which it surely does not.
