Overall, I prefer the Eastern religions to those of the Western world, due to the Puritan backbone of this country. We've grown up in a world that we are taught to be ashamed of our bodies, and should hide it away behind clothing, we are taught to use separate bathrooms, and never really truly learn about the opposite sex and to only have sex for the creation of offspring. It's actually rather tragically sad, wouldn't you say?

I've sometimes pondered over the necessity of clothes.
...wow, that sounded weird. sweatdrop Oh well, might as well follow through.
I think the reason is that humans are attracted to private parts (I forget why...). I mean, if they were exposed all the time, then life would be pretty... weird, wouldn't it? Also, levels of sex would go down.
...that didn't answer what you said, did it? I think I'll just shut up now.

Funny you both bring up a point I too ponder... Wouldn't society be happier without the necessity of clothing?

I think it's strange though, that woman have to cover their chests, while men do not. (think beach clothes and bras) In this society it's expected, but many African and South American tribes, did not even take into account the extra fat on women, and are often topless just like the men. It's very disheartening, Scoot. Plus, it would be good to have a decrease in sex, if in fact that would happen were we all to be on equal playing ground.

This reminds me of a thread...Kita Cloud Plus, it would be good to have a decrease in sex, if in fact that would happen were we all to be on equal playing ground. The world is experiencing a population growth, especially in urban areas.

Wow. That's an interesting conversation they're having. Good to know that there are a few men that think big breasts = bad. Because, in fact, it IS bad for the joints and backs of the women. It can be very painful, but I suppose society can twist pain into beauty. Think corsets, feet binding, white lead makeup... stare

And when there's too much makeup or too many implants, the results make me question the concept of "beauty." I've never liked make up, on myself or others, unless it's for a theater production. Just be yourself. ^^ Kita Cloud It can be very painful, but I suppose society can twist pain into beauty. Think corsets, feet binding, white lead makeup... stare I've heard about things like that, and I'm quite sad, too. sad I still don't understand how the binding of feet make a woman beautiful.

Oh but don't you know how hard that is Scoot? Not everyone can pull that off. I just get lucky to where every one seems to just except who I am and what I do

I'm not one to wear makeup except for on special occasions, like if I'm having my picture taken or going to a wedding, that type of thing. The concept of "beauty" is quite messed up in our society, and in other societies. Sigh. I wish we could just be ourselves and be considered "beautiful".
Oh, and Scoot, the feet binding was for smaller looking feet. It was thought to be more attractive to have tiny shoes and "softer" footsteps. There are still some Chinese poverty provinces that do it, though it's pretty much faded out in all areas of the world. Thank goodness for that!
You're right Hendrix. Not everyone can pull it off, but a lot of people try, and that's what's sad about it... sad

It really does, Scoot. Though the occasional "out in left field" person isn't so bad either. It spices things up a bit. 3nodding
