arrow Outside Hefter's Haven
Rigel watched as the soldiers walked past him unaware, it entertained him. At least he knew they didn't underestimate him, there was a small army in the bathhouse. This was definitely easier than killing every last one of them.
The came Hefter, the bathhouse's namesake. Who definitely would be upset if the Mehrick rebellion took place. When a country ruled by merchants is overthrown by religious connectives, bathhouses have a tendency of losing. In fact, this may even be threatening enough to invite soldiers of the losing side into the bathhouse.
Rigel began a mental chuckle as he berated his profession. The idiot didn't know that he could be killed before he knew what happened. But Rigel had to get out alive himself.
Then he suddenly had to bite his lip to stop laughing. Mick's unexpected comment may have did the job but damn, it was so damn Hilarious. Rigel began to taste the faintest amount of blood, he would have to get visible before he bit the inside of his lip off.
It was only a quick jaunt from there. Out the main entrance and into a street where a five of the golden armored soldiers watched for anybody matching Rigel's description leaving. Mick and Espa passed the blockade no problem, and Rigel was invisible so he didn't count. Five troops at the most obvious entrance, wonder what they had at the less obvious exits.
Then Espa began to mentally assault Mick, there was no other reason for him to double over in pain like that. When Mick confirmed that when he complained to Espa about her causing him to go blind. He was being mentally pressed so hard he couldn't think.
Couldn't think... At that moment something clicked in Rigel's drug clouded mind.
Rigel burst forward past Mick and Espa, pausing only briefly to say.
"Stop doing that and run!" He didn't care if people would think they were going crazy, it wouldn't matter in a few seconds.
Rigel began to feel the spell wearing off, he remembered how Mick said the spell could only last as long as the caster remained focus. This mental assault combined with the stress induced by Hefter, the spell was doomed to say the least.
Then the guards were staring at ********"

Mick suddenly stopped writhing. He looked up at Espa, who had stopped drilling his mind. Mick looked over at the platoon, who were staring striaght at Rigel. That's when Mick realized he hadn't discussed all the rules of the illusion with Rigel.
The final rule: The illusion will falter, perhaps even fail, if enough trauma is to occur to the mind of the caster.
Stress wasn't enough to make an illusion flicker, but tenfold ice cream headaches...
Mick's fear was confirmed when he heard Rigel repeat what was being said in Mick's mind.
Mick jumped to his feet. It was a good plan, the pacifist way out. But now...
"There's no choice, is there, Espa my dear?" Mick then closed his eyes, drowning out the barks of the five guards in gold. When he opened them again with a smile, the guards had stopped shouting. Their expressions quickly changed from looks of jaunting satisfaction to looks of numbifying confusion. Playtime was over, Mick was now in a tactical mood.
"Rigel, Espa," Mick said, barely above a whisper, "those cheerful fellows now think they've been suddenly dropped into the middle of the mythical Diamond Forest. It's the primary scene in a delightful children's novel by the famous Eastern author, Fu Houj Mand, called 'Ice Flower.'
"But enough details. They'll continue to believe they're there, just so long as you don't tell them otherwise, or give them enough time to realize it's an illusion. To them, we are nothing more than the fantastic Enchanted Oaks of Gi'lhred, which rooted themselves in the Diamond Forest after the Great Farce. We've no choice now, these gentlemen must be detained. I'd prefer unconcious as their state of being, Rigel. Sorry, but you're playing under my rules now."

Throughout the briefing that the ninja team presented the High Priestess with, the young Sage that stood but a few feet away said nothing at all to her, or to them; he simply stood in silence as the easterners went about their business... The matters of the Kaikou household were none of his business, nor were the matters of the Jyoukai.
Of all that was said, the only part that truly involved the Sage in any way was that about the festival of lights that would be held in the coming days within the city of Laburnum. The heads of both the eastern and western families would be in the same city at the same time, as well as a torrent of other travelers from all over the world...
If there was a recipie for trouble, that had to be one of the ingredients.
The High Priestess, however, looked more distraught about her daughter now than anything else, the safety of the students was one thing to the woman, the safety of her own children was quite another.
Sol, bowing his head respectfully, though more than likely doing so unnoticed by the distracted woman, took a few steps backwards from the group, heading towards the large entrance to the chamber in which they resided, perhaps to discuss the details of the situation with her later, when her daughter was safe in hand and her husband was safe in his palace.
'Farewell, lady Kaikou,' the young Sage mouthed, though not a breath escaped his lips as the words formed upon them; and with a swift turn about on his foot, so lightly that it was almost unheard upon the marble floor of the temple, and the light mage made for the exit to the courtyard.

As she saw the Light mage from earlier come back to the tower entrance, she finally stepped forward towards him, her voice a little stronger than before that the sorrow was evident in her tone as she spoke.
"Sumimasen, Sempai"
Once in front of him, she bowed curtously to him before looking up at him. She wasn't exactly sure of his title but he was at least a few years older and seemed in some position of respect, as well as having earned her own respect by his treatment of the spirits he commanded. Hoshimi simply waited to be acknowledged or not before speaking further.

Sey Yukiko Noriamatsu Kaikou The Teshigahara were a clan her family could trust. Yukiko nodded and let her some of her worries be eased by the Kunoichi's report; she had enough things to worry about. "The Kaikou are eternally greatful to your clan's services, Kunoichi, and I personally give you my gratitude for watching out for my youngest child." Her back stiffened as she remembered several pieces of important information. "His Excelency, Takiyagami Kaikou-sama, will be arriving this evening and by the looks of the sun," Yukiko craned her neck towards the still high star and looked back at Alcyone, "He will be arriving in 8 hours. He and the rest of my family will be residing inside Laburnum's Eastern Palace. Several messengers have alerted the other guard but I would like to give this information to you in person. I put the life of my family and myself in your hands, Kunoichi. I trust you with my life." Inhaling deeply and massaging her temples, the High Priestess turned her face to the sun's rays and felt herself be rejuvinated. She needed sleep, as did various other people who were on the dias. "Thank you. Forgive me for calling you on such short notice, but I put two things ahead of my own well being. Again, I am grateful for help." She bowed deeply and smiled. "Thank you for your time." Alcyone bowed deeply, her forehead almost touching the ground.
"I am truly blessed to serve such a noble family, my Empress," Alcyone said," and I accept this responsibility with a grateful heart. I will not fail you, my Lady."
As soon as the High Priestess had said that the entire family was in her hands, Alcyone's stomach dropped uncomfortably. Her stoic demeanor when on duty kept her reaction well hidden though. This new responsibility was one that Alcyone had foreseen but had hoped would not come to pass. Dammit, she needed more ninja now! Two for Seyumi, two for Yukiko, and at least, four for Takiyagami. Grr, she had 8 at her disposal but she wished she had more for palace security. Well, the Kunoichi decided to make due with what she had, which were easily some of the best in her clan. Good thing that most of them were insomniacs.

Kouji chuckled and scooped the princess up into his arms. She was so light and so small that Kouji was afraid for a moment that he might break her. He tickled her and gave her a hug.
"I may not be able to give you wings, but I can show you how us ninja fly," he said, giving her a wink.
He turned towards Keito. The gaunt man stepped foward, his face nearly totally obscured by his long, silky black hair. He, like the rest of the team, was dressed in all black. They all wore long, hooded cloaks that wouldn't get in the way. His chains clanked dully.
"Seyumi-hime, this is Teshigahara Keito," Kouji explained," He has been a member of our family for many, many years. Of all of us, he has the surest footing and is able to properly carry you."
Keito wordlessly outstretched his arms. Slowly, Kouji handed the girl to the imprisoned Dark elemental. To Keito, she was light as a feather and he cradled her protectively.
"Let's go," Kouji said," I will lead, Sasori and Hisui, flank me, Keito and Seyumi-hime will be in the center and Asahi and Irihi will bring up the rear. Ninja claws on, grappling hooks ready, let's go!"
All of the ninja nodded and they took off down the hall towards an open window. Kouji looked over his shoulder as they approached, his swampy emerald eyes locking with Seyumi's grey ones.
"Whatever happens, do not be afraid," he assured," we will never let you fall!"
"Banzai!" all the ninja yelled. They loved distance leaping and every occasion that merited it earned an enthusiastic 'Banzai!' from all the Teshigahara ninja.
He gave her a smile and then in a swift leap was in the window and then gone a second later. Within moments, they had exited the palace, leaping off the walls effortlessly. Kouji led the way, followed by Hisui, Sasori, and Keito and Seyumi, and right behind them were Asahi and Irihi. The ninja landed easily on the flat roofs and with a little more difficulty on sloped roofs. They soared across hotels, the bazaar, and restaurants. The ninja were breathing deep and letting out their breaths out sharp with every landing. Most of all, all the ninja were smiling at the exhilarating feeling of being weightless for a few seconds in time, even Keito was smiling in a non-creepy way- just a little.
Everything was going fine, the Light Temple was even in sight when the inevitable occured. One of the ninja slipped. Hisui miscalculated a jump and she fell. The 17 year old ninja fell from the roof of a 4 story tall building. She screamed and threw her grappling hook up. It grasped nothing- or so it seemed. Keito extended his Dark power and shot a tendril of darkness out towards the hook and caught it. The tendril yanked hard and pulled the girl up from certain death. She landed hard on the roof. Asahi dropped back and checked on her. A few minutes later, they had caught up and taken up their positions in the protective formation.
Soon, they were leaping through various trees along the mountain path Keito had taken to the ground, leaning forward and just running, holding the princess securely- not too tight and not too loosely. The ninja team soon reached the gates where they paused for a moment to catch their breath. Kouji conferred with the paladins who guarded the gates before allowing his team through. After getting their second wind, the ninja rushed forward again as one, sweeping into the temple and towards the dais, where Kouji assumed the High Priestess would be to speak with Alcyone and the others in the temple. They swept in as one, took a knee, and all bowed, except for Keito who stood Seyumi up gently on her own two feet before bowing.
After an appropriate interval, Kouji raised his head.
"High Priestess Noriamatsu-sama, may we present your daughter, Seyumi Kaikou-sama," he said.
Kouji smiled politely and then bowed again to the High Priestess.

(( :: squeel :: blaugh WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! )) Kouji Tsukioka Kouji chuckled and scooped the princess up into his arms. She was so light and so small that Kouji was afraid for a moment that he might break her. He tickled her and gave her a hug.
"I may not be able to give you wings, but I can show you how us ninja fly," he said, giving her a wink. Sey giggled as Kouji poked her and felt excitement bubble through her; she was going to go fly like Alcyone! Kouji Tsukioka He turned towards Keito. The gaunt man stepped foward, his face nearly totally obscured by his long, silky black hair. He, like the rest of the team, was dressed in all black. As she was passed into Keito's grasp, Sey felt a small electric shock shoot down her spine; as though a small charge of static was released into her body. Smiling shyly up at Keito and clinging to his shirt, Sey allowed her excitement to take hold and felt herself shaking giddily. Kouji Tsukioka "Let's go," Kouji said," I will lead, Sasori and Hisui, flank me, Keito and Seyumi-hime will be in the center and Asahi and Irihi will bring up the rear. "Banzai!" all the ninja yelled. They loved distance leaping and every occasion that merited it earned an enthusiastic 'Banzai!' from all the Teshigahara ninja. "Banzaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii~!" Sey cried with them, clinging tight to Keito and feeling her hair get blown in the wind. The insane rush of the drop coaxed peals of delighted laughter from her mouth and Sey squeeled in fright and enjoyment; she felt so free. Kouji Tsukioka He gave her a smile and then in a swift leap was in the window and then gone a second later. Within moments, they had exited the palace, leaping off the walls effortlessly. Kouji led the way, followed by Hisui, Sasori, and Keito and Seyumi, and right behind them were Asahi and Irihi. Asahi dropped back and checked on her. A few minutes later, they had caught up and taken up their positions in the protective formation. Crying out in alarm as Keito manipulated the Darkness, Sey burried her face into his chest and squeezed her eyes shut. He was of the Teshigahara - he couldn't hurt her. He wouldn't hurt her. She knew this, and yet the mere presence of the Dark essence was like a thorn in her side; she wanted to get as far away from it as possible. The euphoria of traveling with the ninjas was wearing off and with Hisui falling, Sey was more afraid then excited. Looking to Kouji for comfort and willing herself to be strong like Alcyone, Sey swallowed the knot in her throat and clung tighter to Keito. Kouji Tsukioka Soon, they were leaping through various trees along the mountain path Keito had taken to the ground, leaning forward and just running, holding the princess securely- not too tight and not too loosely. Kouji smiled politely and then bowed again to the High Priestess. Sey quietly let go of Keito's shirt and stood on two wobbly legs; taking two tentative steps forward before bowing deeply before her mother and mentor. "Your grace," Sey said as she raised her head to look at the woman she called mother. The formalities they were to express in public pained her deeply; but there were certain things expected of people in her rank and they had to be done. "It pleases me greatly to see that you have arrived safely my lady," The priestess said, taking small steps closer to her mother. "You are well I hope?" The words flowed from her mouth in eloquent Eastern tongue; the honnorifics of the highest reverence used to address the Empress of the East. Sey felt tears creep up behind her eyes. Her mother was finally here. "The ninja of the Teshigahara clan have served us well; we owe a great debt to them." Her gaze trailed back to Kouji and Keito, then to Alcyone. Seeing the Kunoichi kneeling brought her back to reality and eittiqute gave her a slap on the wrist. She wasn't to voice her opinions in such matters! "Seeing you again has brought ease to my mind. Welcome back to the Temple of Light, High Priestess."

Psychotic Nature Marie (It's a little pushing it with the convo, but yeah. Eh, it's Ryvis that's waiting for the father to talk, the others are talking to the girl.) A trio clad in dark clothes wandered through the marketplaces of lab, looking over various things. One, a blond woman seemed to be gathering various supplies, while the other female seemed to be interested in various trinkets, particularly a shiny black ball of obsidian that gave off a noticable dark aura. The older man that was with them didn't seem to be interested in much, but was also examining the pearl. After talking it over fot a while, the black haired girl finally convinced the blond to let her buy the orb.
After a while, the blond went inside of a building to get some things, leaving the black haired girl and the old man alone. As the two waited outside, wandering a little bit, the old man noticed a disturbance. It seened that some dark spirits were distressed about something. he went to find the source, the girl right behind. A short while away, they found the problem. A man was dragging his daughter rather roughly by the arm down the street. Some people were watching as he did so, but said nothing.
"...To the Light Temple. Either we'll cure you of this malady...or we'll find someone to help you control it."
"But...I don't want..."
The old Dark priest looked over at the temple of light in the distance. "...that's no good..." Ryvin murmured, stepping in front of the man, the black haired girl following. "You shouldn't be so angry at your daughter's blessing, and what is the light temple going to do? They deal with Light and all that. She needs someone of her own element to train her." While Rvyis dealt witht he father, the blue eyed girl decided to appeal to the child.
Estella looked at the nervous girl who was protesting being dragged to the temple. "You obviously do not wish to go to the Light temple, though I doubt your father would want you going to the Dark temple." she said to the girl. "If the problem is controlling the power, then we can help you with that." She smiled warmly at the girl. "Don't let your gift go to waste, sealed up by some Light mage."
It was at this time that Marie exited the shop and looked for her two associates. Seeing them down the street with a few people looking at them, she hurried over, calling out to the other two. "What's going on?" "Oh, Lady Marie." Estella said, noticing the blond girl come up. "this girl is a Dark mage. He father wants to take her to the Light temple, against her will, but Ryvis is trying to convince him otherwise. I think she should come with us. We can take her back home to be raised."
The pretty and friendly looking blond looked over at the girl. "Is this so? Though, we cannot just take you. Would you like to come with us?" Marie turned to the father. "More importantly, are you willing to let your daughter come with us?"((sorry I took so long to reply)) Master Brooks stared at these odd people in consternation. "Who are you people? Dark magi, I take it...I'm afraid I can't let my daughter go off with just anyone. I have heard tales of the magi the Temple of the Dark turns out...how am I to know you are any different?" Tiel only stared at the kind women at first, unsure of what to say or do. But the shadows around them felt warm, comforting... "Will you teach me...." she asked hesitantly. "To make beautiful things?"

Slifer walked down the streets of Laburnam, his walk among the crowds was fast, overtaking a good number of them. His hand however would often drift towards somebodys money pouch, taking it or a few coins. He grinned, he needed to live to, afterall, they should take better care of their possessions. Reaching an alleyway he turned down it, and began counting the sum of money he had made whilst walking. Quite a fair penny there.
Leaning against the wall he closed his eyes in thought. He thought of what to do with his life. After a lengthy decision he decided he would follow his heart. His heart had led him to stay here, for now anyway. Although he would have to get a job, and stop stealing from all these people, he knew stealing was wrong, but it was the best way to make money. His mind had mixed feelings, but his heart told him no.
Shaking his head he stood upright, walking through the rest of the alleyway he came out t'other end and walked into the street, whistling as he went. His eyes looking for "help wanted" signs, or things to that effect.
Sacros walked through the streets, near a different end of Laburnam. He wanted to test out his new powers. He walked and suddenly stopped in the bustling streets of Laburnam. A few people bumped into him, but they took no notice. It was after he stood there unmoving for a few minutes, people raised eyebrows. A few gathered around in a ring. Soon there was a crowd, wondering why he wasn't moving. He was completely still, standing in the middle of the road. His eyes scanned the crowd, grinning.
He began to chuckle, the noise coming from deep within his throat, he moved slightly as he chuckled. Some people pointed as he moved, others moved away, no longer fascinated by his unmovingness. He closed his eyes, his brain concentrating upon a spell. A shield, something that wouldn't allow anything in. At that, it wouldn't allow anything out. He finished chanting and threw his head back, arms toward the sky. A beam shot from his palms, hitting a certain height before creating a dome, spreading out. People looked confused, those that were walking out hit the barrier, stopped by it they began hitting it in an attempt to get out.
Laughing he let his cloths fall, showing his white skin, black marks upon them. His choker gave off a small shine as he craned his neck. He turned around and smiled. His arm went out, a dark shadow formed in his hand, before his sword appeared. People now became nervous, they started yelling and hitting the dome, trying to escape. He began advancing toward where a small crowd had huddled. His sword gleamed in the light of dawn. His cloak trailed slightly. He began picking a target out, finding one he spun his blade.
In a flash of metal and blood a figure fell dead. Their neck cut in half, blood flowing from their corpse. People shrieked, trying to move away from the body. Sacros spun his arms, catching people on legs or arms, sometimes a fatal blow was dealt. By the end of it people were lying on the ground, moaning in pain, corpses littered the dome. Sacros then walked toward the survivors, plunging his sword into them, finishing them. By the end none were left alive. He wasn't finished though.
Picking a body up he held it by its neck, the figures chest was slashed, his face was fine, as he wanted it to be. His nails went to the cheek, and began carving something into the cheek. When the dome vanished, the citizens of Laburnam stood in horror, some mourning for relatives they had been with, or loved ones. Where the center of the dome had been was a pile of corpses. However one body was cast aside, something had been placed through his body to make him stand, like a pole. Across his cheek and face a message was carved "See how brave you are Yukiko, when people suffer for you..."

Of a sudden, the small girl called Tiel started shaking. Shadows were being pulled toward somewhere nearby, and they felt...malicious.
"No..please, no..." she whispered to herself, suddenly unaware of her surroundings. She didn't know what was happening, but she knew it was close, and she knew it was bad. "Please...don't do this..."
As Sacros was taking his time killing, the shield flickered for a moment. It was not long enough or strong enough to let anyone out, or anyone in, nor enough to provide more than a glimpse into the carnage until Sacros was ready to let them. But it was obvious someone had interfered. Sacros might even be able to trace the source...
When the shield was dropped, Tiel regained her senses. Her large brown eyes looked up at the women in front of her, afraid. "What...what just happened?"

Just find me, that is your first task" Sacros grinned form on top of a roof. He looked at her, watching her, he was masked by a shield. He grinned at her, waiting her reaction.
