Ode to the all glorious and might PIT <3
anyway, we practice ALL the time, we have three practices a week 3:30 to 6 and we usually have sections at 8 in the morning. We have been doing A LOT of work lately. I hope it pays off, and I think it will. We sound good so far.

I think I'll be a one-girl pit next year...that is, if I can try out for DM and still be in pit...

Hello fellow Drummers and Mallet Players. I love all Percussion I excel at mallets but I'm good at Snare and bass too. I really started on Drumset when I was 3. That got me started.

HelterSkelterX Um...yeah, I got randomly bored on day and ended up making this topic. I don't know how many people in this guild are drummers, but then again, I'm also relatively new. I've discovered that playing snare in marching band (which is what I happily do) is a lot harder than it seems, for me anyway. I started drumming with I was 4, which by all rights should've make it easier right? Nope? I started in colonial fife and drum, and then I played the trumpet all the way through middle school. I've been in the fife and drum scene for a long time, so I'm used to reading Swiss music. Yeah...so marching band music is in no way, shape, or form the same. Why can't there be more rudimental drummers out there?! I play snare for field show and now im trying out For Drum Corps International. lol

*ponders why percussion is stuck with the guard and misc.* (o_O)
new ways, I've been a percussionist since 5th grade and I love to play everything and anything. I've played in pit my freshman year and now I've been marching snare for three years and I'm the drumline captain. Um...*thinks* I play vibraphone and drumset for jazz band, and I'm the district timpanist for four years in a row now (^_^) I also love playing 4-mallets.
In college I think I'm going to major in music performance, and I have a dream to someday play in the pit for DCI someday (>_<)
I guess that's it about me (^_^)

Haha, I'm playing the marching xylophone in a parade coming up in a little over a week. ...Oh god, my back is going to die. It's like 6 miles long. gonk My band director got it in early December was was like "Yeah, you're marching this at the end of the month. Go learn to march (I only know basic marching) and try to carry it. Kbye."
