“Stop arguing the both of you!” Ilandere nearly shouted. She had forgotten about her chest and she clutched her ribs as pain traveled all throughout her torso.
“You two bicker like an old married couple, I swear!” she gasped, “Rugen, I appreciate your offer and I understand that you do have the fighting experience but I’m not sure if you are quite up to Zadaa standards, much less Saint Dane’s.”
Rugen opened his mouth to object but Ilandere stopped him.
“Don’t even argue with me. You haven’t seen his Zadaan disguise. If he could do this to me I don’t even want to know what he could do to you. You have a lot of emotion, Rugen, and that is very dangerous in battle situations. If you fight while ruled by an emotion then you are weaker. There is a difference between fighting with emotion and fighting fueled by emotion. The first one’s more dangerous to you, the second is more dangerous to the opponent.”
Ilandere paused for a moment trying to catch her breath and ignore the pain, but that wasn’t going to happen anytime soon.
“Who am I kidding, I don’t even know when I’ll be able to stand on my own again, but it’s definitely not going to happen within the next two suns. I’m not sure when I’ll get to Zadaa, but there has to be some way to save Themba. I do not need to just save him because I love him, there are other reasons.”
Rugen tried to interrupt again but Ilandere just ended up shouting at him.
“No, Rugen! Stop trying to interrupt me! I do not just love him, he is my husband!”
Rugen and Christopher stood speechlessly, gaping at Ilandere.
As soon as she caught her breath again she said, “Themba and I are betrothed. When JinRah found out my fate, to be a traveler, he made it so I would marry someone trustworthy. Someone who could be my acolyte. I never even started liking him until after JinRah was killed and I was brought near death. He helped me recover. That’s when I finally accepted JinRah’s intentions. Themba and I are to be married or twentieth year.”
((oohoo... beat that!))

Lily and Jake made their way to the flume, using a water sled she borrowed from Izzy; Jake used the one he had used to get to Izzy's.
"How did you find Izzy's?" Lily asked Jake. HE pretended not to hear. "Jake! How did you find Izzy's? Or figure out how to use a water sled?"
"I asked an aquaneer," he told her. And the water sleds, you described them in your journals." Lily started to nod.
"Wait. I haven't written any journals since I left Earth." She turned to JAke, who she now suspected... wasn't quite her acolyte. Quickly, Lily killed the motor on the sled and kicked herself around. She had to get back to Izzy, tell her-
Jake was behind her, his hand on the filter of her water helmet. "Going back to your Travelers?" he asked with a sneer. We're to far away for you to get to them now."
Lily could feel that the air in her helmet was slowly beind turned bad. HE was covering the filter, and therefor no more oxegyn was being filtered into her helmet.

“Rugen can come,” Ilandere gasped, trying to sit up. Christopher walked over and helped her which took most of the pain away of having to do it herself. “Anybody can come, I’m going to need all the help I can get especially because of the state I’m in. my only dilemma is how we get there and what we do when we get there.”
Suddenly Ilandere’s ring started to twitch and grow. She pulled it off and sat it on the couch next to her. The familiar bright lights and music followed and it shortly ended. There was a piece of parchment sitting on the couch next to her ring. She looked around to see if her ring had woken anyone up, hoping it hadn’t. She took the parchment and began reading.
Ilandere,
I don’t have much time. Saint Dane left for the moment, I think he’s going to come after you. Are you alright? Is he there on Cloral? Look, I’m in a real fix here and I don’t know how much time I have. Things have gone really, really wrong here on Zadaa. I’m pretty much stuck and I can’t get out and do anything. I need to go because Saint Dane might be back at any moment. Please stay safe and don’t come to Zadaa.
I love you so much.

Ilandere’s mind was racing. Of course she knew Saint Dane had left Zadaa, but wouldn’t he be back already? He had left last night. Or did he? She looked around to see if anyone was missing.
“Where’s Lily?”

Lily struggled weakly against Saint Dane, in the form of her acolyte. She had always sucked at gym, her mind being much more important than her muscles. Vainly she kicked his groin, to no avail; not that she had expected any. Jakes face glowered down at her, but his eyes were that of a demon.
"You're no fun. I could just kill you here, where nobody would be able to find you." He uncovered the filter, and Lily gasped as fresh air flooded the helmet. "But they'd never know what happened. And you would never learn what horrible troubles came of your precious Earth."
"You devil!" she whispered. "You'll never win. That's not the way it was meant to be."

((Drama! Saint Dane is everywhere...O_O *looks behind her*))
Izzy walked down the stairs into the middle of Ilandere, Rugen, and Chris's conversation. Yawning, she sat down next to Ilandere on the couch.
"So. I hope you guys are getting along." Watching the rest of the Traveler's sleeping peacefully, she counted. "Lily left...who was the guy Jake anyway...and how did he know where I live...?" She said softly. Thinking out loud.
