Response: "Lithium huh? Well whatever." Kean thought. Mostly he was just tired about writing about elements on the periodic table, even if he had only done it once before, and really just didn't want to do this again, but decided to get it over with as quickly as possible.
"Lithium has the atomic symbol of Li and is #3 on the periodic table. It is soft and silvery-white." At this he raised an eyebrow, but continued to move on. "Usually it is the lightest metal and lightest 'standard' element. It's highly reactive and flammable. It isn't found in nature but can be found in compounds and usually found in ocean water. It's found in quite a few biological systems but the use for it has yet to be discovered." Kean thought that was good enough, and handed in his paper and darted out of the classroom before the teacher could tell him to write more.

Response: Lailah had gotten Rehnium as her element.
"It has the elemental symbol Re and is 75 on the periodic table. It's a silvery-gray metal in the 7th group of the periodic table. It is one of the rarest metals. It has the 3rd highest melting point and 2nd highest boiling point. It's usually a by-product from extraction of other ores, such as copper." A lot of the rest of it was Mumbo-Jumbo to Lailah, and she thought that what she had put down so far was enough for even those with less-science like minds to understand.

Response: Xenon is the 54th element. It is classified as a noble gas. (Noble gas means that it doesn't chemically react to things.) Xenon is rare and found mostly in the atmosphere and in gases that evolve from certain mineral springs. This gas is colorless, odorless, and tasteless. While not toxic on its own, xenon's compounds are strong oxidizing agents that are highly toxic.

Harley had gotten a little more familiar with the hearing aid that had been supplied to him by the academy, but he still felt overwhelmed by it of course. However, one thing he did take away was that things like magic and science could do amazing things. He quietly rubbed at one of his ears as the bakeneko studied their assignment. Curium was what they'd been selected to present. It was the 96th element that is a radioactive metal. It is silver in color and tarnishes rapidly in air.
As they studied more about Curium, it made Harley wonder about other elements...maybe he'd see about checking a science book out during their lunchtime.

Tabitha didn't mind learning more about the elements but figured she wouldn't get away with the low-level introductory stuff she did as a kid. With a good start to the rest of her day, the blue and white colored Grimm settled in her chair. Folding one foot under her thigh she pursed her lips, flipping her textbook open.
Apparently, she had landed on Scandium. Whatever that was...Tabitha tilted her head. Pursuing her lips, she began taking notes down about the 21st element. Scandium is a chemical element with symbol Sc and atomic number 21. A silvery-white metallic d-block element, it has historically been classified as a rare element. It is the first of the transition metals, and its discovery is entwined with that of vertical neighbors yttrium and lanthanum. Tabitha looked a bit curious, wondering what else might be good to include about her topic. Finding the answer to what it was commonly used for the Grimm looked fascinated. Scandium is mainly used for research purposes. It has, however, great potential because it has almost as low a density as aluminium and a much higher melting point.

Emilia was lost in thought, mostly thinking about a combination of Zane, and her family...wondering how if at all she could be of help to Wade, Cyril and even their mother Waverly...and various other topics. While the topic of her girlfriend wasn't a bad one, she was also hoping Zane would say yes to getting an apartment together close to campus in their senior year together..or after if the other preferred. Emilia also wanted to be there for her family, so it was a bit of a balancing act as she wanted to be independent at the heart of it all.
Maybe focusing on her school work would help? Worrying at her bottom lip, Emilia turned to the chapter about Bismuth. Bismuth is a chemical element with symbol Bi and atomic number 83. ... Bismuth is marginally radioactive, and the most naturally diamagnetic element, and has one of the lowest values of thermal conductivity among metals.

Milo padded into class with a loud yawn from the small boy. Rubbing one of his eyes with his paw, he crawled into his seat at his desk. Science was boring...he really didn't care for the subject. Pouting slightly he rests his chin into his paw as he stared at the large textbook. The assignment wasn't going to complete it's self...he'd better get to work on it.
Some of the terminologies was confusing in the book, Milo didn't know what synthetic meant...which slowed him down as he had to look the word up to understand what he was learning about. Once that was clear, he added notes about Tennessine. Tennessine is a synthetic chemical element with symbol Ts and atomic number 117. It is the second-heaviest known element and the penultimate element of the 7th period of the periodic table. It was also one of the most recent found elements based on what he was reading.
While still board, he at least was finishing his work in a timely manner.

Jazzilyn looked at the thick book with a sigh. Here she went to find one element so she could get some information on it. Opening the book she began to look for her element, smiling when she found it. She then started to write down, 'Gadolinium, also known as Gd. It is in the Lanthanides group and has the atomic number of 64. Gd has a boiling point of 5923 degrees F and a melting point of 2395 degrees F. This element is a soft and silvery metal that will react with oxygen as well as water. It can be found as a component in MRIs but mostly to look for cancer.' Rubbing her neck, the goblin closed the book and went to turn in her paper.
Jacie grumbled a bit as he looked up what element was 114 on the periodic chart. Flerovium? What the hell was that? He then rolled his eyes before he started reading about the element. He supposed it was rather interesting that the boiling and melting point were unknown and it wasn't even a gas, it was a solid element. It is also known as Fl and is number 114, thinking that was a good place to start... Jacie wrote that information down then adding that it is highly radio active metal. Figuring that was enough, jacie relaxed in his chair and waited for more people to turn in their work
Khiran really didn't care for science so having to research a random element was certainly not going to be fun. Flipping through his text book, he stopped at element 91. He started to scribble down some information, mentioning that it was Protactinium which was the 91st element and was discovered in 1913. He also mentioned that it is in the Actinides group and has a density of 15.4. There was information about it's melting and boiling point as well as that fact was it was a solid so he added that into his paper as well. The last thing he decided to add was that it was a radioactive metal and it was a silvery color. That should be more than enough information so he closed the book and laid his head on the desk.

Sanyin liked science more than most his classes but what where these weird element things? He looked through the book that the teacher said would be helpful and then he did his best to find element 102. After searching for a bit, he finally found it. Nobelium, No. Apparently it was discovered in 1963 by George Flerov near Moscow, Russia. The young grimm wrote down that the boiling point is 1521 degrees F but has an unknown melting point. It was a radioactive metal that has a like span of only 58 minutes. It also has no uses outside of research. Sanyin rubbing his eyes before closing the book then he finished writing his paper so he could turn it in.

"Darmstadtium is an extremely radioactive synthetic element," Ashe stated. He hadn't really understood what it did or was used for. All he did know is that it was discovered kinda recently and nobody really knew what it did. Tails flicking back and forth, he went back to his seat. His presentation had been. . .boring. He wished he'd gotten one that he'd at least been able to pronounce right.

"Neodymium is a soft silvery metal that tarnishes in air. It's most commonly used as an additititive in glass and for glass dyes." Marlais was pleased that he had been able to find more about his element than his classmate had been. Not that he was glad that Ashe hadn't found anything!! He was just worried that his findings wouldn't work. But if Ashe had done even less, then he shouldn't have to worry about the teacher calling him out for not having that much info.

Response: 108 - Hassium
"Hassium is a synthetic chemical element. It is a synthetic element and radioactive; the most stable known isotope. The chemical properties of hassium are characterized only partly, but they compare well with the chemistry of the other group 8 elements. In bulk quantities, hassium is expected to be a silvery metal that reacts readily with oxygen in the air, forming a volatile tetroxide." Wesley read off the results of his research, trying to keep his points short and clear. Getting a random element to talk about was lame, even for this teach. Most of the elements that they'd learned about had been nightmare made and useless for most things so he wasn't sure why they had been assigned them. All in all, he was glad to have gotten it over with.
