Chalda Veit Loderr Chalda Soleq I have a question... you said you laugh when you walk by Hot Topic. Well what if that is actually the clothing you like? You know what I mean? You aren't wearing it because you feel like you have to to fit in but because it's actually what you want to wear. I would probably shop there if I could afford it (I don't know what their prices are like) because I've seen some of their stuff online and I like the way it looks. It's severely overpriced, and not well made. I believe most of it is made in sweatshops... That is, most of it is. The t-shirts, though, are your average shirts, in terms of quality. Ahh well in that case I may or may not depending on if I feel in love with something. That's usually how I clothes shop. Random t-shirt here, nice skirt there. When I plan to go clothes shopping it usually fails... it has to be spur of the moment or it doesn't work.My friend got a nice blazer and pimp-cane there, without going there to get anything... I think they're a pretty good place to do that.

I have to be prepared, be in the right mindset. Otherwise, I just can't do it. I hate shopping so much. xp

Veit Loderr Of course, that's tantamount to suicide, isn't it? Oh well. It's not guaranteed, and there are times enough when I feel like dying. Twenty years ago that may have worked, but you don't just flash your drivers lisense to a recruiter and join up anymore. If you're in good physical shape you may be able to bullshit your way in since they can't actually check your medical records, but if they find out that you have a history of being treated for pretty much any mental disorder they can reject you. They do background checks, the odds of them actually beleiving you're 18 or over are slim. They don't generally take too many people that don't have highschool diplomas unless it's for the reserves... tired, sick, excuse the spelling and grammar and overall poorly thought out post...

Yeah.... It wouldn't be possible. Heh, I plan on applying for CO status if (when) the draft is reinstated. I'd make a shitty soldier. I'm the kind of guy who ducks and shouts "oh ********!" in danger. And of course, when they reject my CO app (not quaker or anything), I'm just gonna go to jail. It's not that I don't want to kill people, it's mostly just that I don't want to DIE.

The draft will not be reinstated anytime soon, it would be political suicide for anyone involved. Even if Bush wanted to do it congress would not aprove.

He has Congress under his thumb. Enough of his cronies are there for him to basically do whatever he wants, if he mentions terrorism enough. Soldiers are still dying, and there's a finite number of people in the US willing to go sign up. And there've been draft boards quietly organized across the country, and 17 (I believe that's the number) permanent bases are being built in Iraq. They'll have to be manned. Permanently. Analysts estimate another 15 to 20 years of full occupation. And you can tell that they're starting to get desparate. Haven't you noticed how many goarmy ads there've been recently? Not to mention the same two navy and air force ads that have always run, they're getting more frequent...

My old teacher was around for the Vietnam draft, I remember a story he used to tell.
He has really bad eyes, and wears contacts and glasses. The man examening him asked him what he would do if he lost his glasses in battle.
He said:
"Well, I'd shoot at everything that moved."
They didn't like that. xp

Not to mention the same two navy and air force ads that have always run, they're getting more frequent... The place where I work has been playing adds on TV and radio where they say that they're hiring but they hardly ever actually do. Just because they're playing ads doesn't mean they're desperate for people to enlist. The draft bill that was introduced to the senate (or whatever, I get these things mixed up) was actually proposed by a democrat and then passed off to republicans to make them look bad in the eyes of the people. I don't think anyone wants to see the draft reinstated, and since most politicians are really only in it for themselves they won't do something that would make pretty much every american citizen turn against them.
