CUMULATIVE DAMAGE : 24/50[IN COURTYARD]
Rep almost immediately regretted picking a fight with the quiet one, having flashbacks to the strange weeping infected at the mall. She moved so fast, so ******** fast and there was nothing his average reflexes could do to stop her before she was on him like a nightmare, digging claws into his flesh deeply and splattering blood onto the dirt.
He managed to shove her off only long enough to get behind Jordan as another person took a swipe at him, clutching the agony she'd carved into his chest in the brief time he'd been attacked.
"He's... he's....he's... He's off." And he stood, threw his shoulders back and drew the dripping dagger. "Off island." Lunging forward he took a vengeful swipe at the same woman who'd attacked him before - because she was ******** dangerous and he couldn't let her find anyone else.
"I needed you." he said, perhaps a trifle accusingly.
"She bites HARD." Dawson was informed as if that wasn't immediately noticeable from the damage. "We might need a lot of defence."

"Ain' a thing, bruh," he said to Rep, his head in too many places for something more wordy. Guilt, fear, shame, frustration, too many things welled up as he eyed Creedence. Shouldn't have happened. Shouldn't have let that thing get her. Shouldn't have let the girls go. Should have to choose between who to try and help. But they'd warned him as much on Twitter, hadn't they?
Don't think, don't think, just act. He pulled his back backwards and nodded at Rep's warning. "On it. Ran inta a different one tha' got her all mucked up t'begin with..."
He didn't want to know how bad it must have been in the building, then.
He felt slightly better when Jordan arrived to bolster the defense. As they caught up, he tried again, knowing it was pointless but unable to help himself because what if. "CK, honey, c'mon now. Ya look like s**t n' this ain' helpin'."

There were bodies and bodies (full of people people people) and in her way. Keeping her from moving forward. Keeping the man from Stopping. It was the thorns again. Again. Again. Again, she tried to get through the defense until she stopped and saw the other two. The body stilled once again. Dmg: ( 3-7) nope

That meant that Harrison wasn't trapped somewhere, at least, even if he wasn't here to defend. Jordan breathed a very small sigh of relief and tried to keep himself between Rep and the too-aggressive zombie. He spared a glance at Rep at the comment. "I'm back," he said, and didn't explain about the child that wasn't a child or about what it had shown him or about the vines that had held him trapped but responded to what he wanted them to do. No time for an explanation, and no time for a fight.
He nodded to Dawson, moving a little to one side to make room for the other man's defense. The zombie went oddly still, and it made the skin on Jordan's back crawl, reminding him uncomfortably of the giggling zombie in the mall and the way it had jerked and frozen in between its too-fast motions.

CUMULATIVE DAMAGE : 24/50 [IN COURTYARD] Pleasantries were short but it wasn't exactly the time for idle chitchat anyway - with the quickness with which Dawson took his leave, and the pallor of his skin, Shiloh assumed that whatever had happened to their friend was not good. It made him all the more worried for his own friends, and he aimed a punch at an infected getting too close to Maebe, trying to keep one eye on her while at the same time still searching for Ian. "We're talking about it later," he said, trying to force lightness into his voice. "Or whatever, we'll get a big tub of ice cream and eat it right out of the tub and cry over zombies and silly men." He pushed at another infected, but they were swarming so fast, it was hard to get any sort of attacks in. "You don't get a choice, by the way." Quote: Shiloh: HP: 39 Virus Counter: 8

CUMULATIVE DAMAGE: 27/50 Courtyard "When do I ever - " She pushed him to her side, and boot stomped on a hunter that was crawling at him, reaching out to take a piece of his leg. " - get a choice with you?" No, she didn't want to talk about it. Yes, she would end up doing so anyway, because it was Shiloh, and he had a way of getting her to open up that she wished did not exist. She did not want to open up right now. She wanted to close herself, and her heart, off. She wanted to learn how not to care, so she could return to the apathetic sarcastic little twit she'd been when she first came to Deus. She missed that. She missed it so much. She realized that Dawson and Jordan were both defending Rep, instead of actually putting Creedence down, and she knew exactly where that was headed. They were both going to get bitten, and infected, and - did anyone watch movies anymore?! Where was the common sense? She grabbed Shiloh by the head and held him close. "Watch your back for a minute. I need to go be the man of this relationship." She kissed his forehead and let him go, before running full force for Creedence, claws at the ready. It was a dirty job, but somebody had to do it.

CUMULATIVE DAMAGE : 27/50[IN COURTYARD]
Even bleeding, even exhausted, even in pain, Rep could find a groove when it came to fighting that defied his own walls and defied his pain threshold. He was somewhere numb and far away, somewhere happy as he moved into a familiar defending position between two other people, all he needed was Tracey he was sure, and they'd get this under control.
He couldn't afford to be hesitant and he moved into Jordan's personal space with a familiarity that had never really gone away, readying the dagger in an awkward stance that didn't quite suit it, his weight spread as if it was much much larger, but he knew this, he knew the danger and it was almost home.
"Good." he said to the blonde man.
And it might have been if it wasn't for the fact that Dawson seemed to know her and had to have been there when this s**t happened to her, that made it harder, that blurred the line between monster and human and meant that there would be ******** nightmares again if they had to take her down, and would the other man - a good person - ever forgive him for the fact that he intended to make it permanent for the sake of all of them and the woman herself, whoever she was.
"And.. don't think too much about it man, emotions like, the wrong emotions can get you killed. Fight for her, cause I don't think she can hear you any more."

"I know," he all but whimpered. "I know, I know, I just..." All of these hunters, gnarled and green eyed and violent, they were still people to him. At best friends, at worst strangers, but not monsters. He didn't begrudge the need to fight them back--their own safety was just as important--but he was forcibly not thinking of the end result, of what happened when you didn't have shields to stop the worst. His sole job was to prevent more damage however he could.
And then Maebe struck out at Creedence. Dawson bit the inside of his cheek a little too hard as he forced another attacker back, unable to leave his spot. He gave Jordan a shaky nod back and was grateful for the room, because half of his motions seemed to be less combat trained and more flailing, less protecting and more trying to keep everyone's heads above the surface.
"Ain' no way through those vines at all?" he asked. "All I got's some daggers, but I saw someone use fire earlier..."

CUMULATIVE DMG: 32/50courtyardThe only thing to be said for the position he was in now was that his relative lack of movement and remarkable similarity to a corpse right now was actually keeping a lot of unwanted attention off him. He looked like he was halfway to becoming a mummy, but the quick fixes were enough to staunch the bleeding and dull a lot of the minor pain. There was still plenty of broken bone, especially ribs, but he couldn't do anything about that until it was confirmed they'd live to see tomorrow. "Thank you." He breathed again, still with difficulty. But he managed a little better than when he was still skewered on the thorns and bleeding out. Though his head still pounded, he could feel a little clarity returning to his thoughts. The fact that anyone had helped him - especially her, and Robert, just made him feel guilty and sick now. They'd wasted their bandages on a dead man. And for a stupid, reckless decision he hoped they hadn't seen. "Mimsy." Lucky propped himself up by the handle of the runic torch - his souvenir - to sit upright, sending sharp pains through his chest. He wasn't going anywhere in a hurry. And as much as he didn't want to be alone right now, he didn't want to watch them die. "Don't... stay here, then. Find somewhere safe. Both of you. Just.. go." Anywhere but out in the open. He wondered how much of this he was responsible for. He hadn't thought to warn anyone - not until it was too late. There were green-eyed zombies all around now, swarming in the courtyard, up the wall. Shambling corpses of hunters. Not quite human. They were already taking notice of him, and those that got a little too curious were pushed back with the spent weapon. It was little more than a fragile metal stick in his weak and hurting hands now. Quote: HP: 35 counter: 4 DMG: 5........ runic torch (spent) runic bandages runic trapping gun

Fighting together was familiar, even if he wasn't usually on defense, but it took a little of the tense panic out of the situation, eased a little of the ache of being too alone. Jordan kept his knife up, blade angled out, and decided he was going to get a bigger ******** knife, because the discrepancy was throwing him just a little.
It seemed that Dawson knew the zombie they were fighting, and Jordan threw him a sympathetic glance. It wasn't the first time he'd had to fight allies, and it wouldn't be the last. When Dawson asked about a way through the vines, though, he startled slightly, remembering. "I think I can do something about the vines," he hazarded.
The thought distracted him long enough for the zombie to launch herself at him this time, and he grunted with pain and gritted his teeth as he jumped back. Pain didn't mean much anymore, but this pain lingered and ached, and that wasn't a good thing.

OOC Jack is now imbued with RIGHTEOUS JUSTICE. He cannot stop attacking, he literally, cannot stop attacking. Each post must be an attack post where he is targeting something/someone. It could be the boss, it could be allies, it could be enemies, but if he stops attacking, a voice in his head tells him to consume more and he simply gets back down and continues again. He can target any player, but he cannot attack back unless they quote him back. His dice roll is 2d12-6. If attacking the boss, he can only attack twice. The more he attacks, the more damage he takes to himself as his body wears itself out. Every swing costs -5 HP. At 0 HP, the sword disappears and he returns to "normal", the marking gone. CUMULATIVE DAMAGE: 39/50
courtyard
Ian's shrieks didn't phase him, but the influx of more targets did. For at least this round, the group attacking Jack was given a break as he turned the blade on the other hunters grasping and gnashing their teeth at him. Several were buffeted back, and one's arm was sliced off at the joint rather neatly in retaliation to an attempted bite.
Disfigured or merely trying to survive, they all appeared the same to him. Now was the time to decide their plan.

[ Courtyard ]Cumulative Damage: 39/50An affirmative nod and a relieved "thank you" was given to Robert as Mimsy caught the bandages and did as he'd instructed her to. Lucky's state did seem to be improving somewhat, so she began to push herself up to attend to the second portion of the plan as directed, until she caught what Lucky said. He really didn't comprehend this, did he? "No. We will stay until there is no other option." Like a cat fussily grooming another, she brushed her fingers through his bloodied hair to move it away from his eyes. "Have you forgotten what it means to be a part of a family? You seem to be experiencing some confusion. I will be happy to clarify if necessary. And, if I may make a correction: even in your absence, we would need to find somewhere safe for all three of us." Standing to move aside and allow for a more direct line of sight to Robert, she gestured in his direction. "I hoped that you would learn the news under better circumstances, but..." She smiled, and the contentment in it was tinted with a nauseating worry. "That is your nephew. Peter. He is human, I assure you." And human infants were the most vulnerable humans of all. Her fingers curled around the comforting familiarity of the scissors within her coat pocket, and she grasped it tightly as she removed it in time to sink it into the flesh of one of the approaching hostiles. "It is fortunate that we had the opportunity to practice perfecting the duality of our fighting technique in the span of a single night," she observed to Robert, brushing fondly against him as she stood by his side to fight to defend them. "You can WHAT?" Rep asked Jordan incredulously before hurriedly trying to stab the infected girl off of him, panicking intensely that any sort of scratch or bite could blow up in their ********. LEAVE HIM ALONE." he snarled.
