As soon as C.T. closed the door and got close enough, Esther, who had been curled up pretending to be on the verge of sleep again, sprang from the sheets and dragged her girlfriend back onto the bed. Straddling C.T. and pinning her down, her arms now above her head and held to the mattress by Esther, Esther grinned and leaned down to kiss C.T. "Just preparing you, keeping you on your toes," she said. It was pretty clear she was still a little sleepy, but it was also clear she had overcome most of it in preparation for this early-morning event. "Don't go too hard on her."

"I thank you for looking out for me then." C.T said kissing Esther back before bucking her off with a roll of her hips and sliding back out of the bed, grabbing a pair of clothes from her bag. ”Go easy on her? And here I thought you actually believed that here might be a chance that I’d lose, oh how your true colors show.” C.T joked, shaking her head. “But of course I’ll go easy on her, she’s my sister, can’t be too much of a bully now.” C.T reasoned. --- They had decided to walk to the center since it really wasn’t that far as Kat has insisted. It was a small group, just C.T, Esther, Kat, Kia, and Elric. Her parents and the twins had stayed at home. The Rec. Center was actually pretty big, and that made it all the more amazing to see how packed it was. Needless to say it was kind of loud, the hallways causing every sound that was made to echo loudly the occasional child’s scream of delight being stretched and ricocheted in near comical ways. Her brother and her sisters seem to be recognized by most if not all the children especially Kat and Kia, many of the younger kids ran up to and greeted the both of them happily, and Elric got waves and nods from the teenagers in the area, the ones who obviously thought themselves to be a bit too cool to walk over and say hi. ”What are you doing here today Ms. Kat, I thought you had today off.” one of the younger girls who had taken to following them asked. ”I do, but I’m just showing my sister where I work. She’s interested in getting a bit of a work out in the gym.” Kat said with a grin ”Oh, the little girl sounded as if that answered everything, before running off to play, no further questions asked. C.T. wondered if the girl thought Kat had been talking about Kia, as unlikely as that may be. ”This way.” Kat said, opening double doors, to a dark room before walking inside, C.T. and the other followed, C.T. noting that as soon as she stepped inside that the texture of the floor changed, as if she was stepping on pads. A loud shutting sound clanged through the room as the lights were clicked on and C.T. could see that they were in a room that was as close to your typical modern day “dojo” as you were going to get. There was an octagon for one, and C.T found that very impressive, but besides the octagon there were multiple sized punching bags and speed bags lining the walls, the only padded area was the area around the door “Need to stretch before we hop to it?” Kat asked, dropping her bag near the door and grinning at C.T. Connie for her part simply shrugged, and dropped her bag as well, she looked around the gym, and noticed something that she had missed on the way in. Posters, for multiple forms of martial arts competition, nationals in Judo, kicking boxing tournaments, and arena fighting, and on each of those posters, was a picture of her sister, in carious mid combat poses. ”Surprised?” Kat asked a bit tauntingly as she began shrugging out of the jacket she had worn over her shirt, before removing that as well. To C.T’s credit she recovered from her surprise rather quickly. Picking up her jaw, and scoffing. “Now I know I won’t have to go easy on you.” She said beginning to strip down to her gear as well. A little away from the two girls who were ready to square off in combat, Kia nudged Esther in her side with her elbow, whispering to her. “I’ve got fifteen bucks on Kat. You in?” She said with a smile. Elric overhearing his sister stepped forward, and responded. “If she’s we’ll give you two to one odds.”

(Warning, questionable fighting tehniques ahead: Please forgive me. I am not at all knowledgable about this stuff. XD)
Kat was grinning as she got into position. Once C.T. was ready, Kat approached and took a stance. "I was going to let you go first--y'know, to be nice and all," she said. "But you're not really a guest. You're family. So I don't feel an obligation to anymore." Then Kat executed her first move, grabbing C.T.'s arms and turning into her. She extended her leg so that it went between C.T.'s legs and could be used as a lever to, hopefully, flip C.T. over.
Esther looked at Kia somewhat cautiously. Hmmm, betting. Was this a good idea? Meh, of course it was. "Sure, I'm in," she said, smirking and extending her hand. "My money's on C.T., of course. She would kill me if she found out I didn't bet on her..."

"You two are going to make me rich." Kia beamed, as Esther and her brother accepted the bet. "You know, you don't have to bet on a losing horse if you aren't confident." The teenager added, leaning in on Esther "I won't tell Connie that you didn't bet on her, you don't have to worry, she'll never find out."--- C.T. read the hip toss, and decided to allow herself to be flung over Kat's hip, she had a counter in made, and as soon as her legs hit the mat she attacked, taking a type grip on Kat's arms she used them to give her enough leverage to throw an arm over her girl's neck, and to pull her down in a similar motion to the hip throw that she had just performed. C.T. now had side control, and Kat was rolled up on her side in a very bad position, but before C.T. could take advantage, Elric spoke up. "Point Kat." C.T. stopped moving and raised an eyebrow at her brother who shrugged. "Point?" She asked, confused. "You back hit the canvas sis." Kat said rolling out from under her, and standing up "That means it's my point." Kat sounded like she wanted to be smug, but she had a bit of an expression on her face, one that let C.T. know that she had been a bit worried when C.T. had reversed her throw. She knew now that C.T. was no amateur. "Alright, first to three?" C.T. asked, and Kat nodded. Connie stood up, bounced in place a bit, before planting her feet. "Round two." C.T. her hand shooting out and grabbing Kat's keeping the girl from doing anything two tricky. Kat being one to rely more on mobility tried to rip her hand away but as soon as she did, C.T. grabbed her shirt with her free hand, and stepped forward with one foot, which Kat read as a hip throw tried to back away from C.T. but reading the movement Connie dropped to her knees, pulling Kat's upper body down, before raising her hips into Kat's and digging her own head into the canvas, pulling Kat until the girl flipped over her. "Point Connie."

At the conclusion of round two, Esther couldn't help grinning. "Nah, I'm sticking with Connie," she told Kia, glancing at her. "If she loses, it's because she wants to boost Kat's ego, and I would support that cause. So, either way, I'm behind her completely." Esther was feeling pretty confident that she was about to be fifteen dollars richer.
--
Kat scrunched her nose as she got back to her feet, a little annoyed that she hadn't been able to stop Connie. But she had to admit, her sister was using some really impressive techniques. No matter how frustrated Kat was with herself, she still had a lot of respect for the strength and power Connie was displaying.
Kat grabbed both of Connie's arms firmly and placed her foot on Connie's chest. Then Kat let herself fall backward. Assuming that everything worked as it was supposed to and Connie didn't put up a good enough defense, Kat would then roll slightly to the side in order to angle herself to put her leg over Connie's head and push her to the ground. Then, now holding onto only one of Connie's arms, Kat would lean backward with her thighs holding Connie's shoulder and arm in a vice grip.

"Don't let Kat hear you say that, she'll be wounded." Kia said not entirely joking. Her brother beside her noded his head. "She does have a thing about throwing fights, it'll insult her poor little heart." Elric added, though he was joking a bit. --- "Nice try." C.T grunted as Kat's foot wounded her, but C.T. instead of letting herself be flipped, stepped over Kat's foot in a way that locked the girls leg and allowed C.T. to come down on her, trapping her, however Kat, reacting quickly attempted to go for a arm bar not one to allow her position to be compromised so easily, however before she could try and lock C.T's arm Elric spoke up again. "Point Connie." Kat glared at him, and then at C.T. who looked right back at her a sort of fierceness in her brown eyes. For a moment they looked at each other as if coming to some sort of unspoken agreement, and suddenly Kat shot for the arm bar again, her speed catching C.T. off guard as she locked the arm in pulling C.T. down, but Connie didn't wait for the girl to get a solid lock in, she instead kicked her leg back over Kat's head and forced the girl to release her before jumping to her feet, Kat being quick to do the same. --- "Hey now, this was supposed to be a friendly judo match guys, this is getting a bit intense." Elric called to the two combatants. "Shut up Elric." Kat called back, raising her fist. Elric shook his head, "Always so competitive." "It's just a little sparring, no one's going to get hurt." "Too badly." Kia whispered so that only Esther and Elric could hear.

(Just out of curiosity, and I may have asked this before, but do you do Judo in real life?)
Esther blushed, realizing how rude she had been. "Y-Yeah, sorry, that wasn't really fair of me to say." It seemed to her, though, that Kat really was testing C.T. out there. C.T.'s advantage came from the fact that she had used her fighting skills in real life. What she had learned, Esther figured, she had learned for the express purpose of using it against another human being in a far less friendly setting.
C.T.'s siblings were right, though. It was starting to get pretty heated out there. "Should we... try to stop them?" she asked, frowning slightly in concern as she looked between Kia and Elric. She doubted C.T. and Kat would do anything to hurt each other seriously, but competitive natures were tough to tame.
--
Connie had two, Kat only had one. That meant there were no more slip-ups allowed, no more caution. Her senses were on high alert. She was beginning to call upon throws that were no longer legal in competitions. Maybe that wasn't the best approach, but she and C.T. had a mutual unspoken agreement.
Kat acted quickly. Positioning herself slightly sideways, she grabbed C.T.'s shoulder forcefully. She placed the leg closest to C.T. over C.T.'s lap and, with a jump, swung the other leg so that it was at the back of C.T.'s knees. In this set-up, Kat's legs were acting as claws, gripping C.T.'s legs. If she was successful, she and C.T. would both fall to the ground, and Kat would pull C.T.'s legs in for one of the more effective and unforgiving leg locks she was familiar with.

(A bit of judo in highschool yes, but I mainly practiced tae kwon do, through out elementary and middle school. Though I'm way out of practice now. Also the move you described, is hellllllllllllaaaa illegal now a days, I wanna find the video to show you why, but it's cringe worthy.) "Don't sweat it, we make fun of her and her weird sense of honor all the time." Kia said to Esther patting the girl on the shoulder. "Besides, if they end up bruising each other up it'll just heal nicely, we are Tereshchenko's afterall. Kia added not really worried. "The only thing that will truly be wounded here are egos."--- C.T. hadn't expected her sister to go for that particular leg lock during it all, but she should have still been prepared for it. If she had been she would have been able to punish herself, but instead she had fallen victim to the technique and she found herself on her back. "That's dirty Kat." Elric called, though his words didn't stop anything, as Kat, secured one of her legs in a triangle formed by her own, liking C.T.'s leg by the thigh and calf with her arms and legs. C.T. grunted and tried to twist out of the leg lock, but as she did Kat adjusted and applied a ankle lock that called C.T. to wince a bit as she twisted back to relieve the pressure. Kat adjusted accordingly and locked her leg firmly once again. C.T. paused for just a moment, thinking while she could before the pain got to her and she had to tap out or risk her knee being broken. Though it didn't take her long to think of a reversal. Again she tried to tun, and as soon as Kat moved for a ankle lock, C.T. shot into a setting position, and reached for Kat's head with one hand, pulling the girl up towards her chest with a hand on the back of her head, she also locked Kat's left knee into her own core with her left hand. Making it impossible for Kat to escape. From there C.T. started to raise herself over the knee, pushing it downwards to try and get mount control but Kat resisted so C.T. decided to try and get a little dirty herself. She released Kat's head and raised her fist as if posed to strike, and of course Kat raised her hands in defense, though this was only a feint and C.T. used the momentary distraction to get guard control, though Kat wasn't willing to give it so easily, she tried twisted onto her side to prevent the mount but C.T. just took control of her back and went for a rear choke, however Kat was quick yo defend against that, grabbing onto C.T.s wrist and trying to slid out of the guard, however C.T. measured the movements and once she saw an opening, she shot her legs around Kat's arm and went for on arm bar, though Kat had reacted quickly and C.T. hadn't really been able to get a solid lock in, but she couldn't release control. Kat tried to get in position to reverse the lock, by taking over the mount control that C.T. had relinquished but she was a bit sloppy and it opened herself for a triangle choke that C.T. easily pulled her in for. There was a pause then, as C.T. held her sister trapped, waiting for the response, and though it was delayed, Kat began to raised herself, from her knees and onto her feet, lifting C.T. so that only her shoulders were touching the mat, she was going attempt to slam C.T. to try and knock herself free, but before she could do that Elric stepped in forcing his arms into the lock and moving C.T.'s legs. "Alright alright you two, how about we just call this a draw?" he asked. C.T. reluctantly released her lock, and Kat moved away, gasping for a moment before glaring at her brother. "What's the big deal?" She asked though her anger came up short when Elric nodded his head subtly towards the door pointing out the group of kids who had started watching, some of who C.T. guessed to be Kat's students. Kat blushed. "Uh.... hi guys." Kat said, a bit embarrassed.

(I watched it on Youtube, which is how I learned about it. Yeah, I can understand why it would be illegal, especially when the guy described all of the different injuries people had sustained from being on the receiving end of it.)
The kids were staring at Kat and C.T. with wide eyes. Everything Kat had taught them, none of it had been like this. Most of them were intrigued, some of the younger ones were scared, made nervous by the intensity of the last half of the match. All of them, though, rushed over as soon as Kat unraveled herself from her sister and got to her feet.
"Woah, that was so cool!" one of the boys, scruffy-haired kid, gasped, his initial expression of surprise breaking into one of excitement. "Would you show me how to do that?"
"Yeah, me, too!" another one cried.
"Who's that," said a third, a little girl, bluntly, pointing rather openly at C.T. This same little girl may or may not have also just picked her nose.
Kat continued to blush in embarrassment and wrung her hands. "U-Uh, well, guys," she started, about to explain, with a whopping dollop of shame, that they had just witnessed their instructor do something technically illegal. But her sister swept in to save her.
As the kids began to swarm, Kia stepped in, with Esther in tow. "Alright, alright, pipsqueaks, move along," Kia said, blocking the kids from Kat by stepping between her sister and her new crowd of adoring fans. She gently pushed the kids in the other direction, encouraging them to get ready for their classes. "You can ask Ms. Kat all about it tomorrow. Don't forget your questions."
Once the mat had cleared a little bit, Kat turned to C.T. and extended her hand. "You've definitely proven to be a worthy opponent," she laughed. "Your technique is... Well, it's pretty okay." She grinned. It was quite clear she thought C.T.'s technique was more than just "okay," but her pride had prevented her from full-out admitting it. So this would have to do. "Draw?"
Meanwhile, Esther, who had hung back by Elric, asked him quietly out of the corner of her mouth. "Just to be clear... so does this mean no one gets the fifteen dollars, or...?"

(Ah ok) ""Okay?" C.T asked scrunching up her nose at her sister and her use of that particular word. She even went as far as to scoff when Kat offered that they call their little fight a draw. "Let's be honest here. You were 15 seconds from blacking out." C.T. said tilting her head at Kat as if daring her to deny it. "I was working up a counter." Kat said not allowing C.T to get away with that shot. "Besides you would have let go when I slammed you.""Slamming is also against the rules in competition, I can't believe you so willingly cheat in front of your students. It's a disgrace." C.T. said turning her nose up at Kat, who sputtered. "Why you-" "Draw." C.T. said, cutting her off and holding her hand out with a smile. Kat huffed, sighing before returning the smile and shaking C.T.'s hand. "So you ever think about teaching yourself?" Kat asked, and C.T. responded with a shrug, "I've done a bit, here or there, why do you ask?"--- "Yep we all get to keep our money." Kia said happily, because towards the end their, she had actually thought that Kat had been close to being defeated. "Good thing too, I didn't actually have any to give." The girl added, whistling to cove up what she had just said. "My sisters are no good cheats." Elric said shaking his head. --- "How many spots do you have open?" C.T. asked, slightly interested in Kat's proposal. "Quite a few, trainers, kitchen staff, yard staff. Stuff like that. Why you know people." Kat asked her sister, hopeful. Connie shrugged in response. "I might, but I'll have to check with Esther first."

Esther laughed and shrugged. "Or maybe she just had a lot of faith in Kat," she suggested, although she sensed this probably wasn't the whole truth. Well, whatever. To be honest, Esther didn't really have fifteen dollars, either. But she wasn't going to tell Elric that.
--
Kat was going to assume Connie was referring to herself and not Esther. No offense to Esther, but she didn't look like she could wrestle a golfish, much less another person. "Well, even if the spots were close up, I could always pull a few strings," she said. She was sure this wouldn't happen, but she was reassuring C.T. that she had time to make a decision. "We need more good instructors. A few of the senior ones are retiring."
--
Kia seemed to be getting bored pretty quickly. "Let's get pizza!" she exclaimed in a moment of genius, grinning. "Huh? Huh?"
Elric shrugged and shoved his hands into his pockets. "Sure, why not? There's a place down the street."
"I'm game," Kat agreed. "I could use some food after that."
Esther glanced at the clock, and her left brow quirked. "Isn't it a little too early for--?" She was hushed by Kia's finger over her mouth, which caused Esther to blink in surprise.
"It's never too early for pizza," Kia chastized. Beaming, she spun toward the door and paraded out, with the rest of the group in tow.
Elric hung back, walking beside C.T. "Watching you out there..." He shook his head and chuckled. "We grew up apart, but geez, you've definitely inherited the key Tereschenko personality traits. It's funny."

"I can instruct if you will let me, but I just know a few people who could use a job, something that would keep them busy, and I think working with kids would be good for them." C.T. said. "You mean your friends from the warehouse.?" Kat asked, and C.T. nodded. "And you need your girlfriends permission before you can take the job?" Kat asked, with a cheeky little smile that C.T. missed as she nodded. "Yea, it's as much her decision as it is mine." Connie said royally. Kat burst out laughing. "She keeps you on a tight leash huh?" she asked, Connie didn't quite get what she meant by that so she just shrugged, she didn't know what was so funny, but she guessed she could just let Kat's laughter go for now since Elric had stepped up beside her. "I guess the trait you would be referring too is our competitive nature?" C.T. asked nodding her head towards Kat. Elric smiled "Maybe, but we can talk about that later, come on you two, we're going for Pizza.""Excellent." Kat said, walking away and heading for her bag. Though C.T. didn't share her enthusiasm, she furrowed her brow a bit, tilting her head in confusion, as she followed behind Kat, picking up her bag, and walking over to Esther. She leaned towards her girlfriend and whispered so the others couldn't hear her. "What's pizza?"

Esther frowned a little and slowly turned her head to look at C.T. "What do you mean, 'what's pizza'?" she asked in a hushed tone, clearly surprised that C.T. had no idea what the kids were referring to. "Surely Mag has made you pizza before, hasn't she?" Actually, now that Esther thought about it, in all of the time she had spent at the warehouse, Mag had made a "normal" meal (as in dishes that one would find in the standard, basic restaurant) maybe twice. So C.T.'s confusion was actually quite understandable. "Well, it's a, uh... It's dough with sauce and toppings--nevermind, I'll just let you be surprised."
The pizza shop was just down the street, and the group arrived there within a few minutes of leaving the recreation center. Esther nudged C.T. with her elbow and pointed discretely at the poster hanging in the restaurant's window to show her an example of pizza so she wasn't too confused when it was time to order. Inside, there were tables on the right and a countertop with a glass shield protecting various large pizzas. Red-and-white checkered patterns covered the napkins and tablecloths.
Kia hopped up to the counter and began picking a few slices for herself, as the pizza was served by the slice. "What are you gonna get, C.T.?" Kat asked, stepping to her sister's side. Then she grinned and nudged C.T. in the ribs, and said to her quietly, playfully, "Or are you gonna have to talk to your girlfriend for that, too?--Ouch!" Kat immediately began rubbing the part of the back of her head where Elric had just smacked.
Elric didn't know what was going on, but Kat was holding up the line. "Just make your choice, Kat." Esther had gone after Kia and picked two slices for herself, then she and Kia went to find everyone a table.

"I hate surprises." C.T. said, trying not to pout, but not quite being able to help it. But instead of arguing more she just shook her head with a sigh and followed Esther and the others out of the gym. C.T. could say that the picture of the pizza on the logo on the front of the building did make the dish look fairly familiar to her. She'd probably seen it in an add or something, nothing physical because when they stepped inside, she couldn't quite place the smell of the food from the entrance, and seeing it in person didn't help jog her memory of it either. She couldn't really form a solid opinion of it from seeing it either. She watched Kia picking up a few slices, seeming pleased, and just gave a bit of a shrug, she'd try anything once after all. Though before she could make a decision, she was prodded by Kat, and the girl began teasing her again. C.T. was about to give her little sister a bit of a threat, but Elric stepped in and gave her a bit of a smack for C.T. saving her the trouble. C.T. grinned tauntingly at Kat as the girl grabbed her food and walked away. When Esther stepped up to the plate, C.T. was going to ask her to help her out a bit, however the girl just grabbed her slices and moved to the seat as well. C.T.'s eyes widened a bit at that, what a traitor! Leaving her alone to face the unknown all by herself, so mean. C.T. looked over the selections of pizza, some looking rather plain and others looking like the makers had just starting throwing random ingredients onto it. C.T. would avoid those pieces and instead grabbed two pieces labeled peperoni and moved to sit with her family and girlfriend, sliding into a seat next to Esther. She decided not to make a show of things and just took a bite of the pizza. After chewing for a bit, C.T. let out a single sound. "Hm."

("What a traitor!" Made me chuckle. XD)
Esther had quite clearly been confused when she saw the wounded expression on C.T.'s face. What? What had she done wrong? C.T. seemed to recover quickly, however, and soon everyone was at the table. Esther waited with baited breath (although she hid her mild excitement, seeing as C.T. wanted to keep her lack of experience in pizza a secret) as C.T. took her very first bite of pepperoni pizza.
"Hm."
Esther blinked. Then her lips cracked into a grin and she chuckled. "Well, that was anticlimactic."
"What was?" questioned Kia from across the table.
Esther cleared her throat and quickly shook her head. "Nothing."
Although Kia didn't appear to be greatly convinced, she let the matter be with a huffed, "Couples."
"So, I've been wondering," Kat chimed in after swallowing an impressively large bite of pizza. "I kinda want to see where you live--y'know, like you were telling Mom and Dad about an old factory. It sounds so cool, like something out of an action move. Can we go there someday?"
