And then finally he made it. It was glorious. It was like an awards ceremony, he'd like to thank Iron for moral support and Rojand for being a bag of dicks.
Shaw made the journey a third time into the stifling depths of the Forge. He glanced back at the distant, red glow of the world above before turning away, clambering down the stairs and catwalks that led to the testing area.
Almost as soon as he stepped foot into the room, the devices went off, filling the air with flame and smoke. He coughed, putting his shirtsleeve over his mouth and nose and shielding his face from the worst of the blasts.
This time he was too slow - and one of the nozzles sprayed him dead on with some kind of flammable material.
He cursed, shedding his coat and dropping it on the ground where it quietly smoldered.

Pretty put out by the fact she had been bested by a fan, Ixy hefted up and even large piece of debris before throwing it into the fan, successfully jamming it.

With a groan, Shaw sat up. He shivered, and it hurt - he was pretty sure he had a concussion, and when he moved too fast he felt like someone was dragging nails against the surface of his skull.
He had to wait for his vision to come back before he stood, and he swayed, black eating around the edges.
He picked up the pipe and threw it again.
This time, something came to a squealing stop, and Shaw was able to shuffle past it slowly.

She ended up tripping again and wow she was barely holding on at all.

Shaw didn't even remember seeing the room with the large, doomsday device, didn't remember the biting sting as the metal burned his hands - didn't remember pumping his arms and legs to climb and climb and climb.
He came to from his stupor at its top, gaze lingering on the final blessing that awaited him.

She found herself back in the Forge. She had been given another chance, and was going to try once again. Hoping that her past experience would help, she took a step into the testing room.
Once again, she confronted the fire flying from every corner of the room. However, she took more damage this time than she did last time. Hopefully, it wouldn't cost her.
