What kind of format should games be done in?
  Games that are played slowly and casually over longer periods of time

I'm going to straight up veto that. You have no business in the arena, on top of you needing to catch up with the group /as soon as possible/. Just because the enemy is in front of us, doesn't mean we should ever rule out the possibility of reinforcements from behind. Don't risk the entire mission going into the arena, especially when you don't have the stats for it, on top of us losing Isadora.

HOLD IT.

How's Leena going to grow otherwise? Yeah, with 1 STR we can't expect her to win any rounds, but survival is what matters. With 4DEF and 1RES, a physical enemy would have to roll a 19 uaugmented [which would require a 10+9STR, both very unlikely, or adjusted on each side accordingly, even less likely] and a magical unit would have to roll a 16 augmented [10 with 6MAG or adjusted accordingly, which is also not likely]. Basically what I'm saying is that she has very little chance of getting OHKO'd and she now has the knowledge to avoid getting killed. She can always walk away from an Arena challenge.

I say let her take a round. A round. Round 1 seems to have weaker units, statwise.

BEXP only figures at the end of battle. Even with that being a thing, it's good to take advantage of any chance to give weaker units EXP so that when they get BEXP at the end maybe they'll be close enough for a level up, which means yay stronger for the next game, rather than only have a little bit of EXP for the trouble of sitting through an entire game.

Edit: I don't know if it's been mentioned before, but the shop sells Holy Water which give you +5 res the first turn, +4 res the next, and so on and so forth. A couple of those bad boys would help with the mages. Wish we had them in game 3. emotion_8c

Took a look at the discussion that I missed, and I have come to put forth my opinion. Also I'm gonna try to be on the Blast more so if any of you peeps there wanna pester me there, do so. ANYWAYS

First up, Shinon's battle plan. I am fine with this. As you said, once the mages go down, things get a LOT easier should no mage reinforcements show up, as both me and Mihira can tank the fighter and Myrm and Ziaram can absolutely destroy the fighter. Once that happens, we should indeed have time to prepare for Jaren, who shouldn't be that much of an issue, considering we have two lance users, and a ranged unit. Regardless, it's a good plan, and I'm all for it. NOW, onto the controversial part: Leena doing an Arena.

TBH, while it DOES worry me that she would be doing an arena, all she really has to do is survive. That's what...10 exp? Or whatever it is? Regardless, it's not entirely out of the question. She'd have to get very unlucky with her opponent, and by that I mean VERY unlucky. I'm leaving the numbers to Gale because that's his specialty, but I'm fairly certain there is a VERY VERY small chance of her dying. And besides, she can back out if it's something like a Fighter or a Myrm, which are basically her two worst match-ups. That all said, I'm fine with it. Just so long as she doesn't take on an opponent with a 50% or more chance of killing her, I am fine.

We need to communicate more, and I take responsibility for any issues I have made. Regardless of if I meant to or not. Anyways, we can do this, so let's finish strong!

That said, Vaida, for your future reference later, here's your odds on Critical. Just subtract enemy defence on each result.

10 - 12.5%
11 - 18.75%
12 - 25%
13 - 12.5%
14 - 12.5%
15 - 6.25%
19 - 6.25%
23 - 6.25%

If anybody else's move has a ******** up roll and you want me to crunch odds for you, let me know.

Barbarian's Gamble:
{1,3,5,6,7,8,10,12} = 12.5%

For Mihira next turn:
Fighter attack: {0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7} = 10%
Myrm attack: minimum of 0, maximum of 9, most likely to do 2 damage (12.5%)

More importantly, for Seth and factoring in Defender assuming he joins Vika and Mihira, add two to every number quoted for Mihira. Fighter is {0-9}, Myrm is {0-11} with a maximum chance of 4. Seth will be the focus of the two, but they can do only a maximum of 20 damage. They will hurt, but as long as Seth makes healing his next priority he should be okay.

Pretty much this.

Her surviving the arena wasn't really out of the question. I'm just worried about additional units coming from behind, the ol' Merlinus problem, and causing trouble while we scramble to get Leena covered on both fronts.

If everyone is fine with it, then I have no complaints.

I hadn't thought of reinforcements coming from behind. I guess I will have to rely on the BEXP bonus in order to level up. Once you guys take care of the mages, it seems like the others won't be that big of a threat.

On another note: I am very sick. I've been in and out of the bathroom since about 3 PM yesterday - I have a very bad strain of the flu and it's hard to even type this, let alone stay sitting up.

If I don't make my move, please make it for me. I'm trying to rest as much as I can and kick this thing.

Aren't they targeting the village and the convoy (and protecting birds everywhere) in their rampage? If so, then yes. Very yes.
