With her hand on the wall, Olivia began a slow climb back up. Her eyes filled with worry. The horrible thoughts began to filter back into her mind, given the silence and no able distractions to keep her from it - there weren't even any paintings. Just stairs and walls and silence and her own self.
She looked up, trying to see how many were left and saw the two of them, almost at the top. "Wait..." she whispered, even if they could hear her small plea it was probably still too soft for them. Please don't leave me, she wanted to cry out, pushing off the wall to go up more flights of stairs.

(( Entering! )) As they worked their way up the steps, he also opened his mouth to talk and frowned when nothing came out. Or rather, he couldn't hear anything. He kept his grip on her hand for as long as he could - squeezing it to offer her reassurance. So... many stairs... Not this again. He really wanted to tell Amarus everything he felt - but now there... just wasn't time. But they would find it - or make it... if need be.

When she started to slow down she knew she had to dig deeper if he wanted to even make it to the second floor. So dig deeper she would. Before they got too far apart, because it seemed like space was a little strange in this tower even if she was trying to keep them together, Amarus stopped and leaned down, with a smile.
If he could figure out what she was trying to achieve, then good. At least they would have that. Just in case, you know?

Gene continued running up the stairs, trying to ignore the fact that she was missing one of her senses. It wasn't much of a detriment, seeing as nothing was going to fall on her or attack her - hopefully.
Still, it hurt her brain just a bit.

In some sort of effort to not freak out dramatically at her lack of hearing, Fini started humming random tunes that came to mind. Where she'd heard them - or whether they were correct - was a different story. In her mind, it kept her calm enough. She even went so far as to have a lovely conversation with herself!

Yes, he knew what she wanted, and before they got too far apart - for the tower seemed to be trying to pull them apart. He leaned up as much as he can, and pressed his lips to hers for a good long while - but not too long, they had stairs to climb! Pulling back slowly, he brushed her cheek again with his fingers and continued to climb... and climb... Would these never end... Still from the kiss from his love he powered through, and soon he passed her, hugging her for a moment before he managed to get ahead... He didn't want to be apart but... They had to go on. He signed back to her that he would be waiting, and kept climbing, trying to pace it so she could catch up.

She wished she had time to get used to this new affection thing. Amarus couldn't help but wonder if the "real" her had anything like this, wherever she was... That same question kept surfacing: What is the real me like?
She moved quickly to keep up with her partner, at times taking the steps several at a time. Despite that, she lost her grip on his hand. At the fiftieth step, the Voice addressed her, accusing her. It didn't matter how much it loathed her, or what it had made her to be. She had become her own self. And it was too precious to let any voice dissuade her, not now.
On the 58th step of the tower, Amarus stood still for a moment, shutting her eyes and wrapping her arms around herself.

The Voice spoke, but he didn't care - he flashed the thing - if it could see him, a very rude hand gesture, and would have hissed if but he could. He had nothing to say to the voice. Not that he could. And so he climbed... They had to reunite... again.

"You dare take the powers of the others, when I created you, gave you purposed, and promised you a Kingdom. You dare raise your punitive claws against me? Even reforged you will never be on the same level that I am."
She furrowed her brow and continued to climb, responding with her own thoughts - even if the Voice couldn't her her.
No. She smirked. I'm far above your level. I don't see people as playthings or tools to be used for my personal gain. People are people, and deserve love and respect.
