"There are many types of dances," Thanatos explained, swaying her to and fro according to the music, more or less shifting his weight from one foot to the other as he led her to slowly pivot on the spot with every sway, "There are dances performed by only one person, dances that require two, and dances that is a group effort. Each dance has a different significance, but what we are doing, is a slow dance... As you might had noticed, there isn't a lot of movement involved," He chuckled lowly, "And more suited for those in courtship, or romantically involved due to its nature."
He had a feeling that she might be thinking about that, judging by how tense she looked, and how soft she sounded.
"I was taught by an instructor hired by my family elders," He replied, "It was part of the etiquette class I had to take, when I was still being home schooled." As the music faded, and came to a stop, the dance slowed until it too, stopped. Letting Amphi go, he took a step back and bowed, "Thank you for the dance." His elders would no doubt be pleased that those etiquette classes came in useful, even in school, "Shall we returned to our drinks?"Nyxtsuki Moon I HAD TO RESEARCH THIS BECAUSE I WAS ALL "HOW DOES ONE SLOW DANCE?!" :'D ilu Nyx bby <3

That wasn't as hard, as Eisheth predicted. Actualy, that was pretty easy: she was just swaying in the rhythm; first, she cared about not stepping on Mei's feet, but very soon realized that's not something to be preoccupied with. She let the ghoul lead, and simply enjoyed the dance till the end of the song. On Famine, they didn't have many dances, but the alchemist realized now why dance is so important in Halloween culture. It was almost like a battle, but bloodless: you move and move, and your Fear grows solid, you feel active and empowered, it was probably the easiest way to relax and get energized at the same time. " And interesting experience", she concluded, as the the song finished playing. " And you surely do it, like you were dancing all you life", she addressed Mei: the ghoul seemed to really enjoy it.

Herryk lost himself in the dance with Freya for a long, long set of time, and he paused briefly as he realized that the music had stopped completely. Sending a glance over his shoulder towards the booth, it was quickly deduced that there was nobody manning the jackin' thing. Grumbling softly against the curve of Freya's shoulder, Herryk hefted his ghoul friend towards the booth, settling her in close next to him as he queued up a few more songs, his voice rumbling out over the speakers. "Death Black Dizzle here. Keeping things nice and mellow for everyone. One more slow dance, then Herryk will pump it up. Requests are open, just stop by with a request and Death Black Dizzle will do his best." That being said, Herryk turned back to Freya, beaming proudly at the valkyrie. Well, beaming proudly until he remembered what they'd been discussing. "Powdering Freya's nose took a very long time," he intoned, lifting a brow.

Yin would find plenty of time to be sneaky with his secret food re-distribution, as Alex was finding it rather hard to not look around at all of the..well, chaos, really. It seemed that as more students and horsemen arrived, the crazier things were getting. Arguments, shouting, kissing on the dance floor (he quickly averted his gaze from this) and...boils in dresses throwing glitter bombs about. Alexander made a mental note to stay as far away from JackB (because who else would that be, with those colors and that particular mask?) as possible. He'd had enough bad experiences with glitter, and it did not wash off of his partially rotting skin very well. As Mei took off, he gave her a small wave, telling himself that he would have to try and catch up with her later, before he turned his attention back towards his plate of food. Oh, and back to Yin too, of course. He was just as important as food, and that was saying a lot, coming from Alex. "Really? I mean, great!" He was obviously surprised, yet pleased, that Yin had agreed to dance with him once he had finished his food. Which meant that he should probably polish off what was on his plate as quickly as possible, before Yin could change his mind. Well, that was easier said then done when one was being very careful not to make a mess of themselves. The zomboil continued to munch on his food slowly, turning away from the table and back to the room at large so that he could be further entertained by all of the things that were going on. He'd have to worry about how to actually show Yin how to dance later. "So...where did you get a suit from, anyways?" He was asking more out of curiosity then anything, and it was actually surprising that he hadn't asked sooner. Alex usually wanted to know everything that was going on, which was difficult considering he had a boilfriend who only ever told him what he thought Alex needed to know and nothing more. Still, he was at least getting used to it, and he was trying.

Ulmuka's eyes had been drawn to the people Petro waved to. His head and neck craned. There seemed to be a confrontation, it was escalating and the owl ruffled with interest. He wasn't the type to jump in unless it was dire and he could see Petro was interested in the outcome. Muka watched Amrita appeared into the fray, bumbling skillfully to diffuse the situation. With a grin he turned back to the ghouls who were talking quitely until Needle expressed interest in doing something. "Well.. we could eat." She knew he was always starving, but then the song changed to a slow one and the owl perked. "Or we can dance!" He giggled and offered his hand to his date. "Would you like to?" It was a dance after all. "I am fond of this song." He'd heard it on the radio.

“ Sounds good, friend.” The reaper replied. She followed the undead ghoul out onto the floor, and was a bit disgruntled at getting slotted the ‘ghoul’ roll for the dance…but Sammy did ask first…so she had to give that to her. “ I suppose I shall let you have the honor.” Hel returned, and then was put into a small spin already. She ended up chuckling a bit. “ I meant to say earlier as well, you look very charming tonight, Sammy.” So not used to seeing the ghoul all dressed up like well…a ghoul.

Mask or not, West's tone and expressions were just the same as always and the tatzel could see right through it. Aye? Yer finished 'already, are ya? He was right though. The music had changed even if she still heard the tune in her head and continued. That might've been a bit embarrassing has she cared about outside forces at the moment. Coming to a stop on the dance floor, Levi's tail playfully wound West, flickering at the chain hanging off his tail. That would have to do right now for a tailhug; still in public, still in public. Unlike before, they could see all around he- now she was noticing everything else again. Okay, it was a good time to stop. Levi wasn't sure of what she'd do if they continued on as they were. How had she missed the music change?! Never happened before when she danced with her Pa or Mot. Yeah, we'can train more together later. We ya'got yer energy back. His laugh made her want to be sly; he had another sort of smart mouth of his own and Levi enjoyed taking it upon herself to keep it going. Patting down the ruffles of organza at her skirt's side, Levi detached herself from West and folded her arms around herself at her waist. A comforting hug? Perhaps; it did appease the fluttering-gut-scareflies. Allowing her hands to drop now, she offered West an off from the dance floor. Let's go fer some punch. As the tatzel ghoul said this, she indeed gave West a playful punch to the arm before turning and heading over to the table. He'd follow her. She was sure of it.

She didn't hit as hard as Danny did. That was the first thing through his mind--right after acknowledging that the face slap had been more about his pride than the pain--he'd dissipated too many times to be touchy about pain. But a hit in the shoulder? Eh, no biggie. "I would do that," he said with a crooked grin, "but it would be disrespectful to the guys that already did it for us, y'know? See those tables?" he asked as he started leading her towards them. "They're covered with food made by some of the best cooks in the school. So we just take one of the plates and pick what we want from all of it," he explained happily. In fact, by the look on his face, this was the best part about prom EVER.

Shaheen just stared up at him, her eyes narrowing dangerously. She didn't flinch away from the threat, or act in any way intimidated by it. He might have been broader then her, more muscular, and yes, even a couple of inches taller, but that meant absolutely nothing to her. No, that shiver that just went down her spine was out of anticipation. The promise of pain, of a fight, all if she continued to goad him along as she had been pretty much since she'd first laid eyes on him. A smirk suddenly spread across her face, her hand reaching up from his chest to pat him lightly on the cheek. "Oh Shik, do not make promises unless you intend to keep them." And if he did intend on keeping it...well, surely something could be arranged once they had their fill of this nonsense and had left for the night. Another spar, perhaps? Her wings finally seemed to settle down, as though the more riled up Shikoba was, the more at peace she became. Before she could add anything to what she had already said, an incredibly loud shout caught her attention, and with a small frown, she turned away from the executioner, the ruffles on her skirt whispering with the movement, her hand trailing down from his face to rest on his chest, as though she needed to keep in physical contact with him to make sure he didn't try to escape. Whether or not he liked it, he had agreed to come, and as long as she was here, he needed to stay. Whether or not he knew anything at all about her current infliction, it was effecting her in such a way that she didn't think that she would have been able to come here alone. And why did you come? Just for curiosities sake? She supposed that was all that it was. The school, the students, they intrigued her and as much as she didn't care to admit it, she wanted to learn more about it, and them. "Was that...one of ours?" She asked, not quite sure where the shout had come from, though the voice had seemed oddly familiar.

Siobhan could.. sort of dance. She could shimmy, wiggle and jive. She would win no awards, that was for certain. "I do not judge! Let us dance, even if we look horribly ridiculous! I shall lead." The banshee said with a firm nod. The song playing seemed to be a slow one, but she didn't mind. The banshee puffed out her chest, and the bowed like a boil. "Shall we, m'lady?"

Mot was glad he was getting Amarus to talk to more people. When he'd found her she'd seemed lost and confused. The reaper chuckled nervously at the memory of teaching Mitsu to Dance, with him and Levi as her teachers. "Ah, that was a fun day. Levi did not react too well to coffee. Lesson learned." Oh what he wouldn't give for a big, hot cup of coffee. Even if it did keep him up at night. Not like he slept much anyway. "I think I saw Xiu.... oh, there." He pointed to the baku speaking with a white haired banshee across the floor.

"Yeah... that would be bad.." Jericho said nervously. No he had no plans of wandering to the corners, just in case they had been charmed again. When Shehk suddenly tensed, the dragon did as well. What was going on? He thought there might have been something dangerous around. A quick scan of the floor didn't really do him much good, but something was causing the Pricolici distress. It wasn't until she spoke again, that he had somewhat of an idea why she was like this. "Wait. Nuk? He's here? Where?" the dragon asked while trying to spot the skinwalker. It had been ages since he last spotted the guy.

Amrita actually glared up at Sheridan at his comment about the Hunters. However, it was brief and quickly smoothed away, relaxing into a sweet smile. "Aww, now, I know you don't mean that. Getting mad at scarelings like that one just means you're letting them win." Her voice had smoothed out, still trying to diffuse it in the only way she knew how. "Besides, there's always a chance to really get him back in the gym!" The Patchwork had leaned in, her hands poised as if telling a secret. Did she just...suggest a battle later? She did! Proud of herself, the ghoul leaned back, back to smiling.
"But it's very nice to meet you, Sheridan!" She shook his hand awkwardly, and then released it to take a step back, looking at the pair as, well, a pair. He had his arm around her, he looked at her softly...so then, they were a couple? It made sense in her little undead head.
"You two look very nice together! Why not go dance some?" The ghoul smiled encouragingly, gesturing almost excitedly to the dance floor. "I've gotta go find someone so...I'll leave you to it!" Christof, for being a lumpy, grumpy sourpuss, was quite evasive she found. So far he had yet to turn up, but she was confident that she'd find him eventually. As she turned from the pair she raised a hand to wave at them, still beaming happily. "Thanks for getting my mask! I hope you have fun!"
And then she was gone, mingling into the crowd.

It was true: when Mot had found Amarus, she had no clue what she was doing, and she didn't know how to find any of her friends. Even if she did find them, it was, uh, likely they were busy. Mar reached up and scratched slightly under her black mask with its silver scale embroidery.
"I just learned how to dance now, Mitsu... I was not very good at it, for much of the experience," she told the ghoul, with a half-smile. With that, Amarus stared into her punch cup again. She was not afraid, per se, but as a reflex she hid her real self away. The ghoul, who had no end of things to say when alone, had shut up rather suddenly.
It was not purposeful. Just habit. This was how she used to be all the time, after all, before she'd learned to really feel things in any capacity. Being a Lotus Eater and a ghost had made it doubly difficult to even read others' emotions to the slightest. It was nice to be able to see these things, but also frustrating sometimes because it didn't make her any better equipped to them. Instead of expressing anything remotely meaningful to Shun, Amarus looked up from over her punch and said: "... the punch is good, at least?" Then took another sip, herself.
It seemed like as quiet as she was being, Shun was being equally quiet where Amarus was concerned. Which she could not blame him for. If she was more outgoing, it probably would not have been so awkward. Still, she paid attention to what was going on around her: followed Mot's pointing to two ghouls. "Oh! Sio! I haven't seen Siobhan in a long, long time," Amarus was surprised to see the ghoul again at last, but also suspected that Siobhan would not remember their encounter during the Maul combat.
Amarus' glow, where it had been more small-flame-like before, had settled into a vague flicker over her skin. At least it was less blinding. As she sipped her punch, she felt herself getting sleepy again. Wake up! she told herself, shaking her head so that the bells rang and woke her a little. Useful trinkets.
