"Yes" Neil said as he closed the door behind him and moved towards the kitchen to sat the bags on the table. He noticed the small pure white puppy, but he didn't say anything as he moved from the kitchen back to the living room and sat down on one of the chairs.

"Nice to meet you," Jasmine's father said. "You can call me Elliot. I take it Dawn gave you a hard time. Oh, I brought y'all a little present."

"Always" Neil said as moved closer to look at the puppy. "You can call me Neil" he said as he thought that he might not know his name. He inclined his head towards the puppy and ask "Is there a name for him yet?" He looked at the puppy a moment before patting its head.

"She's a german shepard," Elliot said. "Runt of the litter like Avarice was but I know she won't be for long. I have yet to name her."
"How about Winter," Jasmine said slowly. Rose began to whine again.

Neil turned his attention from the puppy to Rose. "That sounds fine." He said as he looked at Rose. "Is she hungry?" He asked, he wasn't use to having a baby around.

"She's been trying to eat my finger so I's say yes," Elliot said. "If what Jasmine tells me is true then ya might wanna get used to having a baby around Neil. Oh and congrats. It's about time my daughter found someone that can stand her mother." Jasmine couldn't help but laugh at that.

Neil could feel a smile on his face as he inclined his head towards Rose. "Do you want to feed her?" He asked Elliot, he realized it must have been quite a while since he done something of the sort.

Neil was sure how to respond to her so he said "There is some milk in the fridge, and some pots in one of the cupboards. Or you could use the microwave." He waited until he was in the kitchen before he whispered quickly and quietly "He is from the opposite side as your mother."

"Why I went with him when they divorced," Jasmine said, brushing past him. "Chris stayed with mom. Dad's always been the better. He's just happy for us."

"I can tell." Neil said as he looked towards the kitchen. Elliot should be about finished fixing something for Rose. He looked back to Winter and patted him on the head before scratching her behind the ear.

Elliot walked back in, feeding Rose. "I hope you two do well," he said. "This case seems rough. Maybe ya should try some of Chris's old pals." Jasmine frowned. She hadn't thought of that at all. Of course she wanted nothing to do with his old friends, not now. "If y'all want I can look after Rose here while y'all are out on the case," Elliot continued. "I'd be happy to help out unlike Dawn."

Neil couldn't help but smirk at his last comment. Does make sense...Would be simple for him to watch while we try to wrap things up. He turned his eyes back to Jasmine, he wasn't sure what she thought of his offer.
