Loa jumped when the girl appeared in front of her, and at her statement, Loa went pink, remembering the phrase she ws referencing. "Oh! Um... Hello." Loa gave a bit of a nod, hesitant to release information. "Well... I am looking for the Dr.'s Cael. Might you know where theyhave gone?"

Kailey shook her head. "The docs beat it about a week ago. No telling where they were going or when they'd be back." Kailey looked the bird girl up and down, not only appreciating her body but looking for signs on injuries. "Umm, I'm not a doctor or anything, but I do know a fair bit about injuries and illnesses. Maybe I can help you. You don't appear to have any visible injuries. Whats the deal?" She said happy for someone to talk to. "I'm not as good as the Docs, but I'm a helluva lot better than the nurses in there. I've seen a lot." She smirked, "Hell, I've seen things even some Doctors don't know about." She thought about explaining the breathing disorder in her home village, but figured that the woman wouldn't want to be bored with her life story.

Loa hesitated, anddecided this might be her best bet at finding help for Owen. "I- Um... I have a... relative who has issues breathing. His throat closes up outside or around plants, and he struggles for breath and sometimes passes out.." Loa figured so long as she didn't mention the prince, it'd be safe. And who would suspect a beastial as being from Exortensis? Still... the once over had Loa's face flushed. She wasn't used to being looked at like that.

Kaileys eyes went wide at the description of the boys supposed illness. But she knew better. "First off, you're boy doesn't have a disease. Its a condition. There is no cure where he'll suddenly be all better. He'll have it the rest of his life. But, it is possible." Kailey said, "A lot of people in my village had that. And they all lived to adulthood and started families. Just take care of the symptoms, and he'll be okay. Fresh air, away from plants actually does wonders. Certain herbal teas can help relax the throat. Just don't make the mistake of keeping him cooped up inside. That can make it worse." Kailey noticed the reaction to her admiration and she grinned. "Now, I can help you find the herbal teas. A doctor, especially one of the Cael siblings, who are by the way both beautiful, the brother and sister. They could actually tell you about any medicine that could help. Unfortunately they up and disappeared." Kailey stepped next to Loa , gently stroking the girls arm, "By the way, my name is Kailey. You got a name? Or could I just call you Lover?" she said with a wink.

The journey into the country had gone smoothly. After having seen Shade's ability to move through the rougher terrain unhindered she was able to take them through some shortcuts. A few times he had even warned her of a few things before she spotted them. It had been a pleasant trip. The boy was not overbearing nor antisocial. Currently they made their way through the lower town that was outside the castle. The reason for their trip was here. Sophie was more careful with her behavior now that. She kept her eyes down top keep her gaze from others and not to reveal her mouth. The few differences that marked her as a beastial were easy to hide unlike if she had taken after her father in that regard.

Coming to a stop at a rundown house has knocked on the door which was answered by a man who looked like he worked himself to the bone. "Hello Mr.Elers. Has her condition changed at all?" Sophie asked as the man allowed her and Shade to enter before quickly shutting the door. The witch understood his secrecy as it would go over we'll if it got out that she was treating his daughter.

"She is still in pain. The medicine you gave last time helped very little. Please, I can't afford the medical treatment she needs. Please save my little girl." The man begged as he walked them over to the bed where the small girl laid.

Sophie nodded as she moved and kneeled down beside the bed she moved the blanket and the bandages to inspect the wound. The girls arm had been mauled by some sort of animal when Sophie first saw her. She had done her best to mend the flesh and muscle but it wasn't her forte. It had become apparent that there was also an infection but at the time Sophie didn't have what she needed to treat it. Having given something to sustain her she promised she would return. From her bag she produced a small bottle and held the girl's head up to allow her to drain the contents. The girl's shaking dimished and she closed her eyes to rest. She will get better. Continued with this elixir one third of the bottle a day for the next three." She explained producing a large bottle from her bag and setting it on the table.

Faelynn smiled as she spotted the castle the same time her brother did. "Not sure." She responded to her brother's question and looked at Oralee. She listened to Oralee speak and then nodded with conviction. "I'm with Slaine. If anyone happens to get hurt, and Slaine gets busy with someone else, I'll definitely be needed." She gave a childish smile. She enjoyed this makeshift group and thinking about giving the option to leave was simply ridiculous to her.

Godelieve spoke softly, speaking after the others. "Adding on to what Lorne said, they don't exactly take well to elves either. I won't react well to looks and insults." She kept her place, walking alongside Lorne. "I'm not quitting in the middle of this, I'm seeing it to the end." She gave Oralee a smile. Godelieve had opened up to Oralee a bit - Oralee being part elven had its part in it - and had found a small friendship out of it. She even began to chuckle at Alexandre's eye rolls to Lorne. Though she wasn't too sure if he knew that's why she was chuckling.

In the few passing days, Vasilisa had spent the most of them with Benjamin. She had answered his question days before about her family with a small, "Let's hope you never meet them." It didn't bug her much that Riordan was spending time with Owen, brother's needed their time together. For the moments she wasn't with Benjamin she was either talking to Jeremy or walking around the city, escaping her parent's tight clasp.

Rose really didn't want to go up to the castle today. In truth, she didn't want to explain her why she was wearing log sleeves on a nice warm day when every other member of the nobility had out their summerwear. It would be an easy cover to say it was her favorite dress, and she would like to wear it no matter the weather. It wasn't necessarily a lie. She loved the dress her mother made, and would obviously wear it in any weather, but the reason she chose it this day was to cover up her greatly bandaged arm. She had another attack in someone's dream. It was a noble woman who would rather see her cut up than dating the prince...as she proved. Though Rose knew it was a relief dream of the woman to vent anger since Jeremy and Riordan used her as a scapegoat for their daughters...it did not calm her mind. This was the first time she was scarred enough to allow injury in months, but not the first she had with noble people wishing death upon her in their dreams. Only when she found herself in Loa's, Owen's, or Riordan's dream did she have peace. She awoke most nights in sweat, much like she began to feel now from the heat of her clothing, but it couldn't be helped. She had promised her two siblings that she would bring them to the castle, and she made well on that promise. "Alright, guys, moms hard at work with her newest designs, and dads driving his coach, so I'm in charge, alright?" Tony may have given up his job, if he didn't love meeting the new people. Besides, it never hurt to put a bit more money on the table to help with his kids.

Alicea squeed, "YAY!" she nearly exploded with exitement, "I getta see my suitor, my owen, my lovie-pie muffin!" she sang as she skipped. The girl thought of little else since she found out whar a suitor was. "First we're gonna play house, and I'll show him Kyle Alexander's book on flowers, and then we're going to talk about where dragons went to, and then we're gonna-" And the girl went on, not noticing that no one was listening. To anyone else, it would seem the girl had a case of puppy love that would fade, or a childish fantasy that would eventually go away with maturity. The truth was, that even though she liked Owen LOTS cuz he was a prince, Alecia knew better than to like a bad prince. Owen was sweet, kind, and patient. He liked to listen, and Alicea began to learn to not talk about his being sick made him ac more like himself. No one, she thought, likes to be told their sick when they know.

Kyle Alexander shook, looking around nervously. Without Loa, the boy went back into his shell, holding tight to his big sister. He would have stayed home if not for his big mission. The tiny boy had been working since Owen's attack on something special for the small prince. He held it in his hands now, careful not to let the pot slip or drop any of the dirt needed to keep the plant safe. The plant was no vibrant flower from his books, nor did it have any color other than green. To he untrained eye, it would look like a cactus, and many would surely toss it away thinking the prince would hurt himself. Kyle Alexander knew better. This was one of his favorite plants. Able to survive nearly anything, and nearly anywhere with a window and some water, this plant had no yellow dust that made people sneeze and cough. Also, he knew it was used in medicines a lot...for burning mostly, but it could work. He dared not tell his little sissy about his little Aloe plant being for her love...she might take it to give herself, but she didn't know how to care for such thing. Kyle Alexander wanted to be sure the little plant was well looked after by the young prince. He would tell him how, and leave...nothing more...He gulped as he realized he was getting closer to his destination.

Hey Riordan, Jeremy, Owen." Rose waved, noting that the boys were talking, "Hope we're not interrupting anything." she grinned sheepishly."My siblings wanted to visit today." she prompted.

"OWEN!" Alecia grinned, coming in without asking as was her way, "I missed you so much! What do you want to do today? Oh, I have a surprise for you too! My brother's letting us barrow a book of his, and you're just gonna love it!" she said, showing the cover.

Kyle Alexander shifted a little uneasiy before speeking in a whisper, "I...have something too...." he murmured. No one looked his way, he walked closed, shaking with every step. He stopped looking at the two royal brother while swallowing hard. It was now or never. He opened his mouth, but nothing came out. Instead,he stayed silan, tying hard. Once resolve finally kicked in, he bowed, the potted pant over his head, "F-f-for...the sm-small prince..." he stammered.

Shade could tell from the sound that the man was unsure why the blindfolded boy was with her. He was glad to help an injured child, understanding how that felt. They had been traveling a week, and though he had told a great many things to Sophie during that time, including his father finding him in the woods and why he wore his blindfold, he refused to take it off, even once. He hoped his father wasn't too worried for him, but the trip had been pleasant one. Sophie was kind and intelligent, and never judged him fr being blind. Even the first day, she seemed to know that he would keep up despite the cloth covering his eyes. He did not wish to speak with a man who didn't know him, but had to at least say, "I hope she gets well soon." with a curtious bow.

Madison though for a moment before she spoke, grateful to have the moment to think since it was a statement and not a question, "Well...I'm not getting paid for this...but...my curse may prove helpful ...I mean, if he does not believe you, he may have to believe me after a few tests. If I can help convince him...maybe it would help that I came." she gave a shy smile, hoping it could prove true. it would be nice for her curse to do some good...for once. "And besids, I like you all...I don't want to loose my new friends."

Benjamin swung at his sord, thinking about Vasalista, and the time he spent with her in the city. She loved being there with him. She never spoke of her family, but loved to hear of his. He also thought of Rose, and her growing bad dreams recently. She was attacked last night, and that thought made him swing with a touch of anger his master would notice.
"Sister having her bad dreams I see, Benjamin/" The gruff old man said, beard looking like salt and pepper long and matted, but kind, gental eyes.
"How did you know Master?" The look his master gave ment the question was a silly one, "...Yes, Master. She had been doing so well up until recently, and then she started shaking more in her sleep...last night..."
"Fell out of bed." The master said, hearing it a hundred time, ut never believing it. He knew there was more to the boy's sister, but never asked. He understood the boy's devotion and want to protect: the very reasons he undertook Benjamin as his apprentice, "Your shift is almost over. Gonna go spend time with miss Vasilista?" He gave a nudge to Benjamin.
"Oh, yes sir, and make sure that Rose's wound is getting better...what do you think, sir?" Benjamin held up his work in progress.
"I think with that angry hammering, you made the midsection of the blade to weak. It would be easy for this blade to be destroyed. I understand your frustration, ut let's keep a cool head tomorrow, and try again." He smiled as the boy nodded, "Now off you go, lover-boy!" he nodded, affection for the boy who smiled widely and ran off, "Ah to be oung and in love."

By the time a week had gone by, Jody and the head gardener had both gotten used to Jody's presence. At the moment, there was mostly only maintenance that needed doing, and once Jody had mastered the particular way Jonathan wanted him to go about that, he had a lot of free time to do his real job.
And he'd collected plenty of information, too, but none of it seemed particularly significant (or for that matter, anything that Riordan wouldn't be able to predict by himself--except maybe the bit about a couple of the younger girls gushing over the idea of a "forbidden romance" between him and Loa. They didn't seem to take themselves too seriously, though, so Jody figured it would only annoy Riordan if he knew.) He'd figured out the names of most of the nobles that were regularly at the castle, at least. Since none of it was urgent and the prince seemed terribly busy between nobles pestering him and spending time with the younger prince, Jody hadn't spoken to Riordan since the day Loa had caught him. But he remembered every scrap of information he'd managed to gather, and if Riordan had asked him for it, he would be able to repeat all of it without much difficulty.
And if he did hear anything of importance, he could always find Jeremy since he was now the prince's adviser--a choice that made Jody like Riordan even more.

Vasilisa sat down at the bench that had become her and Benjamin's meeting place. She was getting in trouble with her parents, but when was that new. Like they'd ever understand. A woman passed by who was a family friend. "Hello Miss Vasilisa! What are you up to on this fine day?" "Oh nothing, just waiting on a friend." As the woman walked away, Vasilisa fixed her dress. It had off the shoulder straps and was a cream color with a gold trim. Her hair was down, instead of it's usual braided updo and the front strands were tied back with a ribbon. She looked happy, and that wasn't something that happened often.

Sophie stood and allowed the father to take her spot by the girl's bedside. The snake witch watched the pair and felt a slight pull on her heart strings about her own parents. She had visited in a while but made a mental note to make the trek up. Turning she moved toward the door. She did not ask for payment from this man as to take anything from him for her services would be dishonorable. Opening the door she allowed Shade to pass first then followed before closing it behind her. She smiled at him noting how polite he was. A good traveling companion. She had shared with him much about her life in incolumitas but refused to speak of her path before she had built her new home in the woods. "Is there truly nothing you need from here? I feel a bit bad that you ventured all this way only for the travel?" She asked as they walked down the road. Her emerald eyes caught those of a man outside a tavern with a group of ruffians. Quickly she adjusted her glance downward but the damage was done. After a few steps she could feel they were being followed.

Loa was glancing around, looking for other leads, when it sank in that the girl in front of her was giving her actual information. Riveting her attention on Kailey, Loa listened intently. His highness does do much better when not near flowers... "He could survive?" Loa didn't want to get too hopeful- she could be a swindler, or simply delusional... Except, Loa so wanted to believe, and quite a bit of what she'd said made sense... "Certain herbal teas? Like what?" Then she answered, and Loa nodded. "They're who I was looking for. Do you know which direction they went?" Loa tilted her head, like a curious bird. "Hm? Oh, I'm Loa-" Her words died up in her throat when Kailey gently touched her arm, and Loa flushed. Though they were mostly innocent touches, Loa was used to people avoiding contact with her at all- except for her prince, and he was very conservative with the touching, as it was not becoming for him to show her much affection. With that thought, the memory of her princes tight hug popped into her mind, and Loa went several shades brighter.

Nodding to Lorne, Oralee paused to think through what she was about to say. "I don't want to make any rash decisons. If we kidnap him too soon, then we risk instigating war, and we need to try to figure out who is targeting the prince." Oralee lightly touched her abdomen, checking on her ribs. "I'm a very powerful illusionist- if you do not object, I could easily hide your elven and beastial features. I will do so for myself." Oralee gave Godelieve a smile as well. "And, if you wish to wear your elven side proudly, I'll simply concoct a story to cover it. In the castle, they will be far too polite to insult you within earshot." Oralee flickered her gaze over to Madison, nodding. "I greatly value your ability, thank you." Oralee knew the girl regarded it as a curse, but Oralee wondered if it wasn't something greater...

Slaine glanced at the group, then at the castle, and then at the town. "So, since it certainly seems like we're all going to the castle, are we going through the town, or bypassing it?"

Oralee paused, and glanced at the others. They could use some supplies, but if they went through town they might lose valuable time. Glancing at Alexandre, who Oralee had found to be a steadying voice of logic and help, she tilted her head. "What do you think? We could use the supplies from going through town, but could also use the time from going around, and avoiding the bustle." Oralee had come to trust his opinion and instinct as deeply as her own. She trusted all of them, but Alexandre was... different, somehow.

Owen glanced over at the women and Kyle Alexander as they arrive, smiling brightly when he saw Alecia, having opened up to her and gotten a touch more lively when she was around- though not enough to risk his health. "Miss Alecia, you came to see me again!" Owen gave a conservative and respectful bow to Kyle Alexander and to Rose, but once she was close enough, took Alecia's hand and kissed it, ever the little gentlemen. "A book? Wonderful." Owen said sincerely, with a bright smile. Then Kyle Alexander approached, and Owen sensed a kindred spirit. He's shy like I can get... Just take him longer to open up, I guess. "I'm as tall as you, you know." He tried to tease lightly, hoping he could be friends with him. Owen looked warily at the plant, but glanced at Kyle Alexander. "From what I've heard, you're good with plants- which means this one must be something special. I thank you." Owen took it gingerly, hoping that he'd talk to him more, instead of just hiding behind Miss Rose.

Godelieve listened to Oralee's words carefully. "Whatever you think best, I'd rather take the chance that brings less attention to me." Godelieve had opened up to Oralee - though she knew her as Nye - when she couldn't sleep. She didn't tell too much, but just the part of her life that had included Papi, and the previous run-ins with Lorne. She had grown to trust someone outside of Lorne, and it felt nice.

Faelynn watched the castle and town grow closer and smiled. "If it's not too much trouble, could we go through? I've never seen a town outside of Incolumitas..." She trailed off leaving it up to Alexandre and Nye. She frowned, Why hide a pretty name like Oralee with Nye?

Vasilisa grew impatient, as she often did, and stood up straightening her dress. The gold on it was minimal, and if the townspeople didn't recognize her from her hair she could actually pull off being a normal citizen. She walked away from the bench, writing a small note and placing it on the bench with a rock on top so Benjamin could find her when he got to it. She walked around the town aimlessly, and got herself a bit lost. "Great." She walked slowly to the wall around the town and sighed. "If I follow this, I'm sure I'll hit a part of town I know." She got to the front gate and frowned. Guess I'll just wait for some one and get escorted back to the bench. I should have never left it in the first place.

Alexandre looked at the group for a moment before speaking to Lorne, "You have a little bit of illusion magic, yes? I suggest that you, Godelieve, as you and her seem inseperable, and Faelynn, go to get supplies." He then looked to Oralee, "He could use his magic on himself and Godelieve while they get supplies, and that failing, Faelynn, who will get to see the town, can claim them as servants. After that, they meet up with the rest of us at the castle. If you approve of course, Nye."

Lorne frowned at Alexandre. Not that he minded being around two beautiful women. But the fact that it was Alexandre who suggested it. "I already said I ain't pretendin' to be a servant." He snapped before looking to Faelynn and sighing giving her a small smile, "Though, I suppose if it Faelynn its okay. I've trusted her with injuries. I can trust her with this I guess."

Jeremy watching with mild amusement at the intereactions. It was nice to see Riordan and Owen acting like normal brothers, rather than princes. And Owen smiling like a normal child. He deserved better than what he got. "Please, everyone, remember we don't want to tax the young Prince too much." He said smiling at everyone, "But I think the company of Alecia and Kyle Alexander is a fine idea."

Riordan smiled to Jeremy, "I suppose you're right. Owen, I'll tell you about more of my adventures tonight, okay? I'll tell you about when she flew me almost to the border of Incolumitas." He said with a smile. Many of his stories were embellished. They rarely went beyond the small forest and fields just beyond the castle. But it gave Owen something to hope for. "Miss Rose, I trust we can leave our siblings alone together for a while." He then whispered, "He needs to be with kids his own age." He then looked to the strange plant that Kyle Alexander had given. He had seen it once before, and a doctor was using it, saying it was good for the skin. "Well, Kyle Alexander, thats a fine plant. It will be well taken care of."

Kailey smiled as Loa blushed. "Oh, the Doctors? I think they left on a trip almost.....4 or 5 days ago. So I have no idea where they went, but come with me." She said taking Loas hand and deliberately linking with fingers with Loas, "I don't want a lose a cutie like you."She said giving a small squeeze to the hand before dragging her towards a shop that sold teas, herbs and spices. "Okay, back home...." She said going through different herbs and spices. "Herbals teas helped soothe the throat, Coffee made it easier to breathe. Ah-ha!" She said holding up a small bottle of red fluid, "Mix this with a juice and it clears the throat, but its spicy. Oh, and so did a teaspoon of of this cider vinegar, though its kinda nasty." She said before buying several other herbs, teas and remedies. She took them to the counter and paid for them, handing the bag to Loa, "These should help your boy until you can get a Doc to look at him." She said smiling, "And take care when brewing these teas, you don't want to make 'em too strong." She then smirked, "I'd be more than happy to help with that." She said reaching to gently brush Loas cheek, "That is if you don't mind. If I meet the boy I might be able to help him better than just by hearing about it. How does that sound, my pretty little bird."
PostPosted: Sun Feb 10, 2013 4:23 pm

Godelieve looked at Alexandre as he said inseperable and looked to Lorne. Is that the truth? She hoped it was, she knew there was hopefully more than just thieving for the both of them. "Well, hopefully the magic won't start failing. No offense Fae, I would be fine with pretending for a moment though." She looked around then noticed something in a sort of panic. "Where is Pet?"

Pet was wandering when he, himself was lost in the town. He made it to the gate and sat there, until Vasilisa showed up. "Excuse me, how old are you and where is your mother?" Pet turned around and looked at her warmly. Then looked at himself and frowned. "I don't look it but I'm fourteen. I'm heading back to her right now!" He scuttled off and ran back to Godelieve's side. "Sorry I worried you."

Godelieve sighed and picked up Pet and held him like a toddler once more. "You didn't give me the chance to worry." She kissed his nose and he hugged onto her. Who needs kids, I have an elemental.

Vasilisa looked at the boy confused. He was the size of a toddler, not a fourteen year old. As he ran off, she followed intrigued. She hid behind a tree and only one person caught her eye. He was on a horse with another girl, but that was no matter. She couldn't take her eyes off of him. Who is he? She walked backwards away from the tree and stepped on a twig. Uh-oh.. She just stood, knowing it would be better than to try and run.

((Posting for Janice))
Rose nodded to Riordan, happy to let the trio of tots able to play their games. She purposely stepped aside before pushing the now fully exposed Kyle Alexander into the room. "See Kyle Alexander, he liked your plant. You should go play with him. It'll be lots of fun." She patted him on the head knowing that if were just little Owen, he would be more apt to open up. Little Alecia could be a little.......exuberant at times. She followed Riordan and Jeremy outside to the Garden. Noting that the sun was already heating her heavy dress. She wiped a small bead of sweat from her brow, before taking a deep breath. "It's a bit hot today, huh?" She breathed, wishing she could have lighter outfit. Thankfully, neither one of the gentleman seemed to notice her odd choice in clothing, or asked any questions about it. She only hoped they would continue to not notice.

Alecia blushed and squeed at her hand being kissed, hugging her husband-to-be. With a giggle she let him go and began to show him the book of flowers pointing out all the prettiest flowers, and being sure to point out which ones were her favorites. Which was any pink flower. She loved spending time with her Owen. She didn't really understand that plant that his brother gave him. It wasn't pretty at all. There was no pink on it all. None! What was he thinking!?

Kyle Alexander was greatful that the Prince understood his reasoning behind the plant, but Owen seemed less than amazed. He probably didn't know about the healing properties of the plant. Just as he was about to turn around and go back home he felt peering eyes staring at him. And noted that he was no longer behind his sister. Before he could move he was suddenly pushed into the room with Owen and Alecia. He gave a shy smile to the Prince, not wanting to be in the way. "I guess, I'm with you then."

Alecia suddenly stood and took a deep breath, "I have a GREAT idea! We can play house. I'll be the mommy. Owen be the daddy. And brudder, you be the itty bitty baby."

"Oh, Umm.....I didn't really want to...." Kyle Alexander started, but he knew his sister too well. Taking a deep breath, he settled into the part he didn't really want to play. He wasn't a baby. He wanted to be a knight. Strong, noble, and most importantly Brave. 'Who am I kidding?' he though with a sigh, 'I'll never be brave enough to be a knight.'

Benjamin came to his and Vasilsas usual meeting place, having FINALLY gotten all the soot off of himself. He saw and read the note, noting that girl could sometimes, get away with herself. "I'd best go find her. Before she gets too lost." he said to himself, setting off to find his prospective love.

When Godelieve said the little elemental didn't give her time to worry, Madison couldn't help it. "You're lying." before blushing afterwards. She did think the little elemental was pretty cute.

Shade left along with Sophie, and the gentleman didn't seem to mind him much. Shade mentally went over his fathers list of things he was supposed to get, when Sophie asked her question, "I need some rope, and some tools. If you of a place to gather them." It was then that he heard that footsteps following them. It sounded like three, but it could have been as many as five. It was so hard to tell without being able to see. He whispered, "I have an idea. I'll distract them, you go and find a gaurd as fast as you can." He touched his bow to reassure himself. It would be harder to use though, when he couldn't 'see'. It was only because of his father, that he would be able to use it at all, in this situation. But, it it came down to it, he still had his hunting knife, and his staff.
