Mutely Nathalia took the aspirin, swallowing them with as much class as a drunkard would. She did not respond to Helga's first question, in fact she was still staring at Rachel, whose hand had JUST PHASED THROUGH A TRASH CAN!?!?!?
Helga spoke again, and this time Nat listened. The shock was leaving her system, to be replaced with a dazed sense of confusion, maybe even denial."I'm sorry, did you say mutant powers?"
Mutant powers? Her? But she wasn't a mutant! Her DAD wasn't a mutant! The gene came through the male line. And now Helga said she was one...The couldn't have altered her genes with that procedure, could they? Was it possible? Nathalia looked up from the crumpled paper cup in her hand to Helga. She didn't know how but she knew that Helga was telling the true. It all seemed genuine, at least, genuine from Helga's perspective.
Nathalia took a deep breath, trying hard not to lose the aspirin she had just swallowed. "How do I find out?" What was she now? What could she do? There were too many questions for her to even think of leaving IO.

While the I.O. technicians were placing Rainmaker inside a sensory deprivation tank under heavy sedation, Jimmy Zorn was still trying to make sense of what Blindside did to the Stonewall Protocols. The experienced computer expert realized that the password was constantly changing, "You're a clever one, aren't you? Damn.... Shut down the system. We're going to do an uninstall/reinstall. Buckle down, it's going to take an hour."
"Yes Sir. Proceeding with shut down."
Zorn wiped his hand over his face and popped his neck to relieve the building stress. That was when Ivana called him, and Zorn snapped out of it to answer the I.O. Director, "Yes Ma'am?"
"Jimmy, I'm calling together a meeting for our coming operation. What's your status with the Stonewall Program?"
Zorn took a deep breath before he replied, "Well... The entire program is shot. I just ordered an uninstall/reinstall to completely bypass what the hacker did. It's going to be an hour before we'll be up and running again. I'll be up for the meeting. Has the hacker been caught yet?"
"No, and I'm going to have to call Threshold off of the hunt. I need him at this meeting."
A quick thought crossed the blond agent's mind, "Easy solution. I'll send Daedalus to hunt for the saboteur; he'll get the job done, Ma'am."
Ivana's tone became almost a purr, "Wonderful, I'll see you at the meeting in ten minutes.
..........................
Ivana switched off her comm and looked in on the proceeding in COMCOR. The I.O. Director could hear the screams of Caitlin Fairchild and Roxanne Spaulding from the direct application of the Gen Factor solution. Other rooms within COMCOR were applying the same procedure to other kids within the project. There have already been twelve failures -- which have already been attended to.
However, she did get a report that they have already had at least one success... perhaps two if Helga Kleinmann's information was correct. Still... The results this early was very promising, especially if the current rate of success continued. I.O. will have an army of gen actives to train.
Switching her comm back on, Ivana contacts Threshold, "Matthew, I'm pulling you off of the search for our hacker. Daedalus is being dispatched to deal with him. I need you for the meeting in ten minutes in my office. Run down to the labs to go pick up Dr. Willowfield. We need his input for the potential opponents that we could have in Gotham."
"Will do, Ivana. I'll see you there."
Ivana shifted her sultry pose, switching channels before she spoke again, "Ivana to Drs. Summers. I need both of you to meet me in my office in ten minutes. We'll be going over everything we need to do in dealing with the Batman and his associates. Also, I'll need a run down on how that powered armor is working out, and let me know if you need anything for the armor to perform in the field."

Dundee smirked and put his good hand up to his ear, activating the Bluetooth one last time. "We got him babe, now let's get outta this overgrown sandbox and get back to Gotham, hmm?" he asked, a little strained from his broken arm as Arell came up to the car. "Y'all headed fer Gotham?" Arell asked the two, but was promptly answered with a face full of DUST, the two driving away due to Raoul thinking Arell was with the Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms branch of the law . . .

CC, who had still been watching from a safe distance of the group, simply arched a brow at the car as it sprayed Arell with sand. He was rather glad that he had kept his distance now. He couldn't imagine what it would be like trying to clean all that out of his fur...

Arell coughed, dusting himself and Dundee off from the sand. "Stupid, drugged-out assholes . . . ugh." he cursed, damning the shitty luck he had been having, much less having all this bullshit on his plate.
Dundee looked back over at the cat. "Hey, kitty. Which way is it back t' town?" he asked . . . apparently talking to animals, much less getting directions from them, was the normal-est idea of the crazy s**t that had happened within the past month . . . C.J. swiping the Batmobile, Arell and Crystal's relationship more or less flushed down the drain like the aftermath of overindulging Taco Tuesday, and now THIS. Wincing at his arm, Arell helped Dundee get it in the sling. It had been one SHITTY month.
"Hey! I don't HAVE the Batmobile anymore . . . and I didn't swipe it, I asked nicely upon . . . threat . . . of . . . getting . . . a** . . . whipped . . . by . . . uh-oh."
Yup. Prepare for a Bat-Beating.
"FUUUUUUuuuuuuu-!!!!!!"

"Well, I believe it's down that way." CC replied, lifting his paw up to point across the desert. "Are you sure you're going to be alright on that thing?" he asked, looking at the bike. "Can't be easy to drive with two people in the desert."

The Summers were already both checking on the suits that IO had. The suits were up for the job and needed a few adjustments only for fitting and some possible additional weapons added. Jack Summers was looking forward to putting some more stun technology onto the suit for fighting the Meta-humans. After receiving a call from their director Jack and Rose set up their tools that they had begun to use and agreed to head to the meeting.
"We will be there in a few."
The Summers' packed up some of the specks and headed up to the meeting room walking in 5 minutes early picking a seat closest to Ivana. The woman's office wasn't the smallest place in the building considering her high status in the organization.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Roxy found herself in total pain trapped in a place she had not known about. The pain was almost too much for her to bear, too much for her to keep unconscious. She pulled at the restraints trying to escape what was causing her pain.
((Would she start showing powers while this took place... or after?))
(I'll leave the manifestation up to you Maho. You can have it begin now or just after the 'treatment'. It's all good.)
Caitlin's screams were cut off from the mousy redhead suddenly throwing up in the hi tech chair. The young girl was hoping to heaven that she wasn't going to die choking on her own vomit. With the spectacular vomiting, no one notices that Caitlin's grip on the metal armrest began to crush in her tightening grip...
....................
Ivana strode into her office, smiling when she saw both Summers present, "Good to see you both. How are the new suits working out?" The I.O. took her seat, shifting herself into a comfortable position.
...................
Daedalus begins his hunt for the hacker, ordering a lockdown of the floor of COMCOR to keep Blindside contained before he can escape again. Standing in the shadows, Daedalus listened to the reports coming in from various Black Talons searching the floor. The experienced assassin was looking at the blueprints of COMCOR and the floor, Well... that eliminates all of the normal places you could access... You're still on this floor though.
Daedalus' cold eyes drifted toward an overhead vent when he heard the air conditioning kick on again, Right.... That's how you're doing it and moving from floor to floor. Time to hunt a gopher... Smiling evilly, the Stonewall assassin pulls a chair over, stand on the seat, and begin to undo the screws to the vent.
Dr. Willowfield stopped short as he walked out of the bathroom, seeing Threshold standing there. "Hello. May I help you?" He looked around, not knowing what was going on at the moment before he finished drying his hands on the paper towel he held.
Crystal stopped and looked back the way she came. She could no longer see the boys, nor the place she left the bike. She heaved a heavy sigh and sniffled a bit. She looked down at her feet and started walking again. "Stupid Arell..."
Stupid, HARDLY. Arell was flagging down a Semi truck as they looked back at the cat. "We don't need it, but thanks fer th' directions though. Why don'tcha come with us?" Arell offered, hoping that the cat wouldn't want to stay out here in the desert.
"It's alright, better than staying out here in the desert." Dundee offered as a cab-over Mack appeared in the distance, the hammer down and smoke belching from both the stacks as it got closer from the horizon out of the west.
Rose Summers looked up to the clumsy seeming scientist and answered him.
"Just a meeting. And the suits are fine Ivana."
Her husband added to what his wife said before a pause could be taken.
"And of course we plan to make alterations. They are good, but could be better in the case of fighting Meta-humans."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Roxy as she pulled on her restraints found that she felt lighter. Like her struggling was doing far less. The more she tried to concentrate the more pressure seemed to fill her body. Her nose began to bleed a little as she fought to get free. Her pain so intense she couldn't even think about how horrible it must have been for Caity. Before the people in the room could realize who it was they would feel a sort of pressure on them, the same pressure than Roxy was feeling on her own. Feeling a weight like force pushing down on the techs in the room. She screamed at the increasing pain wishing for it to stop any way that it could.

The black cat smiled up at the two. A large, toothy white cheshire smile that was about all one could focus on with that dark black face of his. "Well...that would be more interesting than staying out here in this giant litter box..." CC replied, a small mischievous glint sparkling in his amber eyes. "And I suppose I could help the both of you out if you need it. Keeping out of trouble and what-not."

The duo looked at that big Cheshire Cat grin, back at each other, and then back at the cat.
"I got a baaaad feeling about this, bro." Dundee said to Arell, who apparently picked up a cigarette pack left behind by those two chuckleheads who drove off in a huff.
"Relax, che'. I got dis." Arell replied and looked over at the cat.
"Soun's like a deal. Just . . . can ya keep de five-o off our trail? I got a feelin' I'm gonna have to come back and actually do some damage." he said as the truck pulled up on the road, slowing down as Arell stuck his thumb out. "C'mon. Our ride's here." he said.

CC smiled again, then crouched down and lept straight up in the air. He landed on Arell's shoulder, then bounced again until he was back on the man's hat. He purred gently and carefully sat himself down so that he had his little perch again.
"I think I can manage that one..." he replied.

"Sounds good, tha- Hey, what th' I can't see!" Arell sputtered as Dundee took Arell's arm with his good hand.
"C'mon, ya big lug. The truck's this way. We gotta go home." Dundee said as they got aboard the truck, the trucker gave them a weary eye, but when they mentioned going to Vegas Airport, he eased up and nodded, letting up on the brakes with a hiss as they lumbered off. Arell getting his vision back by moving his cowboy hat back up above his eyes.
