Darkened Angel
So is everyone heading for the hangars?

Ilia is heading to the cantina where the heroes were just moments ago

Ilia's luck never ceases to amaze me at that. but yes, DA, it seems we're at said hangars.

"In my experience, there is no such thing as luck."

It's not like she's heading directly to the hangars. She decided to go to the cantina at least a few pages ago, and only got the idea because she saw him flee the cantina with Skuld's spacergirl. The logical place for them to go would have been another cantina or someplace where they could rest without looking overly out of place

So out of all the possible cantinas that can be found in a capital hub, Ilia's first choice is to head to the one that's just been recently attacked and beat up by a car going through the front of it?
PostPosted: Fri Dec 09, 2011 8:00 pm

Well, a cantina that recently was crashed into would kind of draw the attention of people.

But no, you're right. There probably are dozens of cantinas. I'd just kinda reasoned that since we've only had two cantinas used in the roleplay, then common sense you would go to the other one. No sense in creating more scenes right?

*sigh* I'll just wait to post in another week then

How many cantinas could the worms actually have? I figure they'd more enjoy cofee or tea shops.

I don't think it's for the worms so much as travellers. But even so, 100,000 people catered by only two bars seems rather low.

Big cities have to have multiple places for drinks and entertainment. Consider any major city here in the US. You're gonna find multiple places that provide the same goods and services. The nearest city here is like that. There's like 10 fast food places and at least 3 different gas stations all on the same highway, all within a mile of each other.

This isn't a human or Duros planet. This is a planet of intellectuals. And Intellectuals, by their nature, lack a certain amount of common sense.

They have to have something to keep the tourists around. When you cater to intergalactic communities, you have to take into account that not every form of life out there fits well within your culture, so to attract those specific beings to your world, you've got to have something they'd like.

Or the free market approach: as people come here for information, there's bound to be people coming here to cater to those people seeking information. buisnessmen, with propositions. Someone has to shuttle the bookkeepers around, and pilots don't necessarily mean intellectuals. The other folks who sit and read may not want them to be drinking, but someone might still have a bad day.

I don't think there would be terribly many cantinas though. A dozen at most. The city itself should largely cater to Ruurian interests, I'd think. There'd be some accodations, but not a lot.

Regardless, there have to be at least 10+ drinking establishments catering to foreigners. But then again, if this is the Cantina Cinn busted in to, that alone might warrent Nightwind's investigation as to what he was doing there.
