15+5 = 20. Success!
Finally, after all that, Bo Jun had manage to create yet another perfect clone! He was now fully convinced that he had managed to master this particular jutsu, and this particular assignment. Now, it was time to move onto something else that was far more interesting; of course he still had to get rid of the clone. After flicking it behind the ear and making it vanish in a puff of smoke, he sat back down and looked over at the syllabus so that he could possibly figure out what to do next. Time was a wasting and he had a lot of ground to cover now that he was done this assignment.

Bo Jun looked back over the syllabus, and figured that it was best to move on and try to get as many jutsu as he could taken care of now. He had two more, so he decided on starting with the Henge no Jutsu. All it did was transform the user into the image of something else, which could be anything at all. It didn't have to be a living creature, or even the same size. As such, Bo Jun decided he would try to transform into the syllabus itself, since it was the closest and smallest thing that was around. It wasn't that he couldn't transform into something else; rather he figured that if he tried to transform into someone else in the room that they would be rather offended, or even suspicious of his motives.

Nat 1. Failure.
Well, that went horribly, horribly wrong. In fact, that could not have been a worse start to this whole thing. As it turned out, forming the hand seals for this was a tad bit more complicated than Bo Jun had expected. He had figured that it would be a simple affair; but he hadn't thought that it would be something like this. He sighed to himself and went back over the instructions provided; it was obvious that he had done something terribly, terribly wrong. As such, he relaxed himself and tried to focus on the task at hand; Bo Jun never expected to be able to succeed so readily on his first try. Practice made perfect after all. After getting a grip on himself, he tried again and hoped he did something right this time.

19+5 = 24. Success!
Bo Jun finished making the seals, and after a moment, transforming into something resembling the syllabus in front of him. He didn't exactly know how he knew that something was wrong, he just did. It was like he could feel that in a comparison, someone would know the difference automatically. It was a success in the fact that he transformed, but a failure in that he was unable to become a perfect copy of what he was trying to become. He dispelled the justu, and then went back to looking over the syllabus itself. He tried to study everything he could on it, so that after taking careful observations he would be able to transform into it correctly this time. No use in constantly doing if you were going to do it wrong.

As it turned out, Bo Jun was unable to make lightning strike twice in a row this time. He growled slightly to himself in frustration, before ultimately sighing and shaking his head. He had to remain calm and not beat himself up over all this. For now, he just had to concentrate on doing everything right, and getting some kind of successful result. If he could at least get himself to a point where he could perform the jutsu, even imperfectly, he could then work to perfect it rather than working to perform it. It made perfect sense to Bo Jun, but making sense wasn't making this any easier for him to do. After taking a few deep breathes, he tried to focus himself and perform the jutsu again.

Again, it seemed as though fate was conspiring against Bo Jun. Either that, or he was just terrible at this particular jutsu. It seemed that he was unable to create the previous success again, making it a fluke rather than a real triumph. The fact that it had only barely been a success weighed heavily on his mind as well; it was really starting to bring him down even with his positive attitude. He really hated having to pull himself out of problems like this one, but Bo Jun knew that if he didn't he'd never make it as a ninja. And that's what he was doing now after all; he was practicing the skills that would one day help him become a ninja. And seeing as he came here to master these skills on his own accord, he wasn't going to give up so easily.

Finally, after numerous failures, Bo Jun managed to succeed in at least performing the Henge no Jutsu. Of course, it wasn't perfect by any means; the writing was all wrong and the pictures that were used for the hand seals in the previous exercise were all distorted. No one would believe that this was anything more than a misprint, so Bo Jun couldn't claim success just yet. Of course, he did at least manage to transform into something, which was more than he could say for the previous few miserable attempts at the Henge. At least this time he did something correct. After dispelling the effect however, he went back to look at the object he was trying to imitate, again attempting to memorize it's details. The details would be the key to doing this right after all.

Well, it appeared that Bo Jun really hadn't learned anything after all. In fact, he had only managed to screw up worse than before. Now, he was just sitting back and trying to figure out how to make this jutsu work, and it was beginning to really frustrate him even more than the hand seals had. He knew that ninja techniques were meant to be challenging so that those that actually learned them were the best of the best, but Bo Jun really couldn't understand if it was the technique or just him that was the problem. He assumed that it was him, since this was a technique that was meant for normal people. But he also didn't understand why they couldn't be somewhat easier. Regardless, it didn't really matter in the end. Bo Jun just had to keep trying until he got it right.

2+5 = 7. Failure.
This whole assignment was really starting to get on Bo Jun's nerves. And it took a lot to truly irritate him. Sure some things might annoy him on occasion, but it wasn't like they made him angry. This assignment was really starting to anger him, because it was showing him just how much he wasn't doing right and how far he really had to go. It was taking all his previous successes and throwing them back at him like they were nothing. This whole thing was just starting to bring Bo Jun down, and once it did he knew that there wasn't much he could do except try again later. Once he got so despondent that he wasn't able to be positive he would never be able to actually succeed at this jutsu. For now, he just hoped that more practice would yield some kind of success.

Finally! After all those failures, finally there was something that kind of worked out for him. Sure it wasn't perfect or completely believable, but the fact that the jutsu worked at all felt like a breath of fresh air for Bo Jun. Surely now that he had done it three times, he had figured out what went wrong and what went right... right? Clearly he should be able to do the rest without having any more issues. Of course, he wasn't certain of that, and the jutsu itself needed a lot of work to be used correctly... but at least he had made a tiny bit of progress. Now he just needed to do it about seven more times and he would probably feel comfortable enough to call it mastered. Then again, seven more time might take him a few hours at the rate he was going.

14+5 = 19. Success!
This time Bo Jun was able to succeed at performing the jutsu twice in a row. Of course, this was something new, since thus far he hadn't been able to do as such. In reality, he was completely unable to do anything like this since the beginning, which had made the entire practice session rather difficult. Now however, Bo Jun felt like he had gotten down the overall jist of the jutsu itself, and now he had to work on actually making it perfect. He knew that his transformation lacked all kinds of specific details, such as the lettering and the pictures, but it also lacked colors and textures, as well as the correct sizing of various parts and the formatting of the words. It looked more like a child's drawing than a syllabus. He resolved then, to fix it in future attempts.

Yet again he was able to complete the jutsu itself, but his jutsu still left much to be desired. In fact, it was basically a pale reproduction of the syllabus he was using as a model... and it wasn't working all that well. A small child could probably tell quite easily which one was real and which one was fake, which meant that he really had to step up his game if he wanted to be able to take care of things. As such, he decided to release the jutsu, and try to think about just what he was messing up on. He knew the writing and pictures were a big problem, but in addition to those he had to somehow match the texture and formatting of the syllabus as well. It was a rather difficult problem, but he knew after a few more tries he would probably get it down.

Nat 20. 2 Successes!
This time, somehow, Bo Jun had managed to get the jutsu perfectly right. He wasn't sure how he knew, but he felt that he got it completely right without any issues whatsoever. Of course, doing it right once didn't mean he was done, far from it in fact. He would have to be able to replicate this multiple times if he wanted to claim that he knew how this worked. As such, he went over his "perfect" reproduction in his mind with a fine toothed comb, looking for any signs of imperfections or issues. He knew there had to be some, even if he thought it was a perfect job. Oh, if only he had more experience! Then he would be able to tell when something was wrong! But for now, he'd have to settle for trying to reproduce what he had just done over again.

Previous nat 20. Success!
This time he had managed to succeed in creating the perfect reproduction a second time. Considering all the trouble he had had before, this was hardly something to sneeze at. Before this had seemed impossible; now it seemed like it was just a small stumbling block that had kept Bo Jun from getting to this point. He was totally confident in his abilities to keep performing this jutsu well. But as he said himself, doing something twice was a coincidence. He couldn't let this give him an ego, when just a few minutes previously he was struggling to even perform the jutsu. He had to concentrate and just focus on doing it right every time he did it until it became second nature to him.

10+5 = 15. Success!
Yet again Bo Jun was able to complete the Henge no Jutsu. He was so close to mastering it, he could taste success! Of course, he also knew that it wasn't perfect just yet. He needed to straighten up the characters on his copy of the syllabus, and he needed to find a way to succeed at making sure they were all the right size. Not to mention the fact that the pictures were a tad bit blurry on his reproduction, and he knew that would throw him off. He wasn't sure why he was trying to copy something so complicated right off the bat; Perhaps it was because he was just too used to shooting for the moon. Regardless, he knew he was close to being done, or at least being good enough at the Henge to warrant moving on to something else.
