Calder watched and had to rub his eyes when suddenly things stopped and then, with a sharp sound of chipmunk banter, everything went backwards. The only thought he could formulate was that he hit his head too hard on the tube. First a voice in his head, and now this. He was certainly starting to worry about his mental health, but maybe this magical moment of hearing Barth kissing him was all concocted in his head, and if so, then crazy wasn't so bad at all.
Watching, things finally slowed and then settled back at a normal pace, though the scenery was slightly changed and people in different spots. There was a loud commotion outside and Calder only watched before looking over. Yup. Barth was still there, was were the other Halloweeners in their cages. "You think - " He dared to believe. " - we're being saved?" He certainly hoped so. He was scheduled to go back in the tube and he didn't need more voices.

Had the pup understood how horrible it felt to watch his brother's attempts to get free, he would have tempered his own actions earlier. He might have taken Gabrian's advice and sat still, instead of snarling and fussing and throwing things.
"Ren!" He shouted, scrambling to the closest side of the cage. His ears only briefly flickered backwards to hear Calder speak behind him, the pup's attention was fixed on the gryphon.

"I don't know," Barth said suspiciously, looking towards the now fully-repaired chamber.
The noises outside were...distantly familiar to Barth. Sort of.
The Couch was gone.
And the rewound movements, stilted and strange...he wasn't sure what to make of it. Except perhaps some very strong magic that he hoped wasn't the hood's doing. "I haven't seen anything like it before."

The unnatural rewind had Freya staring, and when it was done, she turned to look at Calder slowly, then flopped down onto her a** on the floor and started laughing. She couldn't comprehend what had happened, but it had been fun as hell to watch.
Everything seemed like it was the first time she'd rushed into that tent. She half expected to see herself bursting through, ready to save Lattice and take on the world.
Except this time, she was Lattice.
Automatically, she looked at her arms to see if needles would emerge from them.

Sin slowly lowered her arms and moved closer as the sounds of a fight reached them, the sound of battle! She wanted to grab the bars, to break free, to join them...but she held her fists at her side and waited.
"Do you think if we all touch the bars at once the power will fail?"
She looked at her caged companions unsure if any of them were even willing to risk trying such a wild idea. She wasn't even sure what prompted her to suggest it, the absolute thirst for freedom perhaps, and the knowledge that if those false reapers had their way...well a little electric zap hardly seemed a sacrifice in such a light.

"I think we would all just get a nasty shock, is all. I think they would have planned ahead for our kind to thrash about in cages in an attempt to break free. So something like touching them at once is probably nothing." He said with a sigh and watched the steady flow of electricity.
It was a good idea, but if there was one thing he had learned from the little time he spent among these creatures, it was that they weren't stupid... unfortunately. Okay, maybe some of them were. No... actually, he was sure some of them were. Maybe just not the ones who built these cages.

SO YOU GOT INTO THE TENT RULES:- If you have successfully entered the tent through stealth, you will note that none of hunters appear to be within. (Caelius having left prior during the excitement, looking smug and mysterious, the remaining techs trailing in his wake like a row of nervous duckings. Will he return? You better hope not.)- The cages are all firmly locked, but there is a key card hidden somewhere in the tent. To search for it, roll 1d20. If you roll a 20, congratulations, you have found a key and will get to spend the rest of the round figuring out how to unlock the cages and letting each of the captives free. - You can roll to find the key up to three times. - Feel free to continue to RP your angst, traumz, and tearful reunions for the rest of the round.

It had been enough of a shock that simply sneaking past the Hunters had actually worked, let alone the fact that not a single one of them seemed to be guarding the inside of the tent itself.
Afraid to waste time trying to figure out the why of it, Yuki rushed to a random cage and hurriedly tried to figure out how easy the damn thing would be to open. He was worried to even touch anything, jack only knew what it would do.
"How the ******** am I supposed to open it?!" Yuki cursed, likely to himself rather than the student that was inside. Although, help from that end would have been gratefully accepted.

Roch slipped in, silent as a--nope, he was more silent than most of the ghosts he knew, except maybe Jove. He looked around, a little grin pulling at his lips as he realized that it was empty except for the people in the cages. "Yo," he said to the captives. "Keep quiet, keep your seats, there's some seriously scary looking jacktards out there that we don't want finding out," he went on quietly, looking at the cages to see who was there this time.
"That means you, too, Freya," he added. "We all know Roch is here. No need to announce it. Now does anyone know where a key is?" he asked as he started searching the room.

Ren had pounded on the bars of the cage until one of his hands had started to bleed, a thin trickle of scarlet liquid sliding down his wrist. Finally he stopped, his strength completely spent, and slumped down so that he was once more lying on his side, wings limp against his back.
His eyed flickered wearily to Jove, then over to Gabrian, asking dozens of unsaid questions, wishing he were anywhere but here, that he was back at school, curled up asleep on his best friend's bed and hearing his dry, drawling voice telling him he was an idiot.
Get me out of here.
The sound of fighting was still going on; but there was a shuffling sound as someone entered the tent, though Ren did not have the strength to lift his head to see who it was. He assumed it was one of them, after all.
Until he heard a very familiar voice say "Keep quiet."

Calder was thrilled to see students NOT being dragged in and rushing to their cages. It seemed that their side had prevailed and he beamed proudly at them, both in relief of getting out of this blasted cage and also because it meant they hadn't failed and fallen victim to the hunters. "Yeah. What Barth said. You'll get shocked right back into Websday." He pointed out, and remained quiet and still as to not attract too much attention - which was hard for the usually energetic kelpie. Being shocked several times and exhausted certainly helped though.

Roch stopped as he caught sight of Ren, crouching down beside the cage for a brief second, but not touching it. "Hey, teacher," he said. "You look like s**t. You been tryin' to play the bars instead of a guitar?"
Yeah, he thought, this decided what skill he'd try to learn next. "I'm going to learn how to heal my second year," he told them all, standing and turning to the desk to see if he couldn't find the key card there. "This is absolute candlejack."
He started shifting through the papers, desperately looking for the card that he knew would be there. But it wasn't. Jackdammit, this was frustrating.

Sin was shocked to see students sneaking in and ooking for a key to help them escape. Part of her wasn't sure if it was real or if she was just being hopefully imaginative. Then Barth and Calder spoke to them and she knew, they might just make it out of here alive!
"Hurry..." She whispered and fidgeted in her confinement looking around to try and point out anywhere a key might be hidden.
"Look there!" She pointed to several different locations...not very helpful, but damn eager to get the heck out of this jack damned cage! She sucked in a deep breath and tried to remain calm, but any moment now those fake reapers could come back!

Tybalt was startled to see the two enter the tent. He was so sure it was going to be more of the strangers, that when he saw two other faces, one of which was very familiar, he breathed a sigh of relief. Though Roch working with a ghost. That was something new.
"Try over by that machine they were operating earlier..." He whispered, pointing over where Dr. H had previously stood, tampering with the contraption before he exited the tent. He really had no idea where it could be, but it was worth a try... he only hoped that the fake reapers didn't take the card with them.
