Using his wings to keep him balanced, Orion backed up from the fallen Captain a grin on his face. He hit her pretty good. Moving back to Alcyone's side he nodded. "You got it, captain!" His grin widened and he gave her a salute. While Merope was their captain, he wasn't here at the moment and the redhead knew Alcyone would be a better interim captain than himself.
Looking down at the talking bird he gave him a thumbs up. "Don't worry, little guy. We'll keep you safe."

HP: 6 He flew backwards with a cry of alarm, sliding through the earth that had been churned up in the fighting to a thin slick of mood and blood, spit and feathers, He couldn't breathe for a moment, and thought, was so utterly sure it was about to end there in the dank mud and the remains of the dry grasses. And then he sucked in a lung full of air, and another. Up... Up again with a groan, not even bothering to dust off his coat. "Sorry bird, Love HURTS... but I'm glad to know you care."

The newfound tangible space behind Uranophane's back began to itch uncontrollably as her wings magically prepared themselves, and she had to keep making reckless leaps backwards in order to keep her a** away from the angered Orion. "Get the hell out of my way!" she hissed at him, even as she tried to round her way around back towards her target. "I don't want to fight you right now. I don't need to."
Then Orion looked away, giving her just the split second she needed to leap back into the fray. But she made the leap at just the wrong moment, a huge gust of wind sending her sailing off the ground.
"Work..." she growled, scowling back at her bent and splintered wings, "hurry up and work already!" Uranophane balled her hands into fists, and finally willed them to buzz back into working order, and she did the best she could in her inexperience to fly her way back over to Quail. Her weapons appeared in her hands with a small pop! and she aimed to give the bird-boy a clipboard to the face.

The scream was unlike any noise Alcyone had ever heard before. Her palms reached up to block the noise from her ears, and her wings involuntarily shuffled around in discomfort. She could feel the wind pick up, and in retaliation dug her heels into the earth for an added boost of balance. However, something sparked in her mind as her feathers continued to rustle with the strong current of air, and it was then that she decided to act out on it.
No longer was she going to hesitate on her actions, today.
"GET AWAY FROM QUAIL'S EYE! STRIKE OF TEMPEST'S THUNDER!" She cried out, and whatever wind that had been blowing before now shrieked with increased tempo. Uranophane, Zinkenite would be trapped within the sleet and rain that pelleted them from dark clouds above, but it would be Wolframite who'd get struck by a coordinated branch of lightning.

What did he not want to do? FLY! What did the bird boy do? MAKE HIM FLY! Wolframite's small frame was tossed up into the air, sending him head over heels (literally), before he could straighten out, and by then, he just felt dizzy and very on edge. Heights and being tossed about made him very paranoid that he was going to just plummet to the ground, something he wasn't sure his new wings would be able to stop.
As he flapped in midair, he watched Uranophane prepare her own weapon. Well, he said he wouldn't, but getting close to someone who could create wind was hard to do. Another pop followed Uranophane's as Wolframite summoned his own weapon, started to wind it up, and went for a wide arch towards Quail. Again, finger's crossed.

"Damned stormy b***h..." Snarled Zinkenite, god he would kill her one of these days, He'd clip her achiles tendons and then wait with her for hours with a tazer and a sprinkler just to give her a taste of her own medicine...and then, when the batteries ran out and he couldn't give her any more electric shocks...THEN...he would pull out her star seed. No monologs either.. everyone monologued when they plotted like this, god it was worse than capes.

Orion tried to move out of the wind and the storm that Quail and Alcyone brewed up together, folding his wings to his back so he didn't get sucked into the chaos.
He had seen the Captain hitting the little bird with her clipboard and he was more pissed off than ever. Deciding to add just a little more chaos to the storm front he threw a gloved arm out, pointing at Uranophane. "METEOR SHOWER!" He yelled out his super attack over the sound of the rain and the wind, watching as the firey meteors began to fall.

Alkaid was just honing in on Zinkenite when a strong wind knocked her backwards and away from him. She was swirling so fast, her thick dreads flying in a whirl around her head, that she could barely see what was going on. Only when she forced herself to right and fight back against did she see that Zink was once more in the line of fire.
If Zink wanted her to attack the bird, then that was damn well what she was going to do.
With a grim expression on her face, Alkaid surged forward as best she could with Quail's whirling winds whipping at her. Once she was close enough, she drew back her foot and kicked in the general direction of Quail's head, hoping he didn't have a chance to send her flying before she could get close.

There might have been no meteors, but Uranophane certainly felt like he had just been struck by one --
oh wait.
No.
There were totally ******** meteors. And she was totally being hit by them, and the Captain was sent out of the sky and crashing to the ground like one, wailing in pain and frustration all the while. Her wings were shredded. Her goggles were ruined. Her clipboard had been dropped and lost somewhere in the tall grass, and as she tried to get up she would feel a distinct wrenching pain in one of her ankles.
Well, s**t.
She tried to keep low, and attempted to crawl her way back to where Quail was (just like the oversized insect she very much resembled). Every move she made was making her body wrench and whine in protest, but she wasn't about to give up now.

Cora was starting to get worried. There was no sign of Hypnos in the middle of the battlefield. Maybe it was a good sign but in her mind there was also terrifying pictures, mental images of the worst possible scenario. It couldn't be possible, could it? Hypnos was alive, right?
Suddenly she heard something that brought her into this realm. She noticed Quail boy, backing away from the fightning group, clearly horrified. Maybe it was his horrified expression or the energy of guardian kind but Cora felt sympathy for the boy and need for help him rose so great she couldn't resist it. Without second thought, she flew towards him and on her way transformed from a little kitty into a beautiful cat-woman with creamy long hair and wings. She wasn't sure why she did as she did - maybe it was an instinct of guardian - but suddenly she was in front of Quail boy, pulling him into her warm embrace and stumpling down on the ground. She hold him firmly, not letting to get hurt when they fell together. If it would have happened in different conditions the scene could been rather intimidate but this was a battlefield and there was no time to think such thoughts. She had just acted in instinct and her instinct was to protect.
"Shh, calm down," Cora's voice was warm, almost motherly but in the same it was about to break as the panicking feelings were starting to arise when she finally had time to realize what she just did. She was going to get hurt badly for sure but she tried to not think about it and focus on what's important.
"I'll protect you now. Calm now so that your thoughts are clear. Please, for me." And then, her voice broke. Thoughts of being hurt were almost unbearable. Tears rose in her eyes and her whole body was trembling of those terrifying predictions of coming hurt.
"I don't want to get hurt by nothing!"
What was done was done. She closed her eyes and put her faith on the small Quail boy and hoped that she could take those blows for him bravely, like a good guardian would.
((Cora is using herself as Quail's shield for now. Feel free to target her any blows until Quail moves her away or her HP drops to zero, even if I would not be around (gotta go soon) to reply.))

It seemed that he simply wasn't meant to be protected. He was a failure as a guardian, so why should he benefit from anyone guarding him? He appreciated the effort, he really did. It was nice to know that -some- in this battle stlil cared and wanted to keep others safe. Maybe he didn't know their full intentions, but they still tried and that had meant something.
The oddball weapon of the Negaverse Captain smacked right in his face, stars dancing in front of his eyes as he stumbled past. Something there seemed to crack too, blood mingling with bruises on the sad face of Quail's Eye.
He wanted to curl up, cry, give up.
But even that he could not do. Wolframite's weapon found it's home, embedded in the side of Elysion's guard. He could swear it wedged in right between ribs, but did it really matter? It was still there, inside his BODY, and he drew a shuddering gasp of surprise.
During this Alcyone had drawn her attack, knocking Negaversers around and causing the battlefield to become even more of a hell. "S-stop..." He had been moving to try and dislodge the knife before Wolframite could tug him away or any number of things, but Alcyone's attack found it's home.
Unfortunately metal conducted electricity, and being on one end of Wolframite's chain weapon subjected Quail's Eye to the damage as well. The boy was electrocuted by the same attack meant to save him, the only thing saving him from even worse damage was the kick to the head, knocking him back and dislodging the knife from his body.
He started to fall back, only to be wrapped up in the arms of Cora and taken to the ground.
There was no motion for him to try and get back up. Not yet, at least.
((Done WITH PERMISSION from Mouse, and by my request <3 Cora can only save Quail from killing blows, sadly. Rules of the game! ;; <3 BUT THE THOUGHT IS SO SWEET UGH <3333))

So, fayalite had no idea what the s**t was going on. All she really knew was A: The senshi seemed to be protecting the bird and B: She really wanted to hit that bird. Not only because it was whining... but damn that stupid bird seemed to be PAINFUL when it hit things.
The one senshi she was fighting was gone... so she really didn't feel like targeting her again, wherever she went. She would make a note to look for her later.
For now.. she would go for the bird.

Captain Uranophane crawled, and crawled, and crawled, the rustling of grass sounding all around her. All she really had to go with was her (admittedly poor) sense of how she had oriented herself when she landed, and the voices of the combatants nearby... and then she got lucky. The grass parted before her to reveal the color and shape of a familiar pair of shoes.
"I've got you now..."
Then, much in the way his leopard brother might, the Negaverser lunged out of the ground with a snarl and attempted to pin Quail's Eye to the ground.
