Yuki stopped following Fuma and went back to where Amaya was.
If he was there the assassin still didn't attack.

After a bit more walking the ground under Fuma completely gave way revealing a pit with wooden spikes at the bottom.

A masked head appeared at the top of the trap. "You are not the one I want," he said in a raspy voice that spoke barely above a whisper. "I can't even kill you. I guess you'll just have to stay at the bottom of that bit till you can dig yourself out..."
