.::Alice::. b a s i c i n f o r m a t i o n Hello, My name is I Have Been on this Earth for About I am of the I'm staying in dorm number I'm currently enrolled in grade number

How I Normally Look
Scarlet's youthful appearance is mainly credited to her fair skin, though sometimes she cheats and applies a dab of concealer to cover up any unsightly blemishes that may erupt over night. Her eyebrows are thin and arch out more towards the end. Outlining her hazel eyes in various shades of eyeliner and eyeshadow - usually varying between a light blue and a hot pink - is a morning ritual of hers. Her full lips are painted a deep pink on most occasions, though sometimes she can't be bothered with dolling herself up and goes out without any makeup whatsoever. The only reason she really wears it is because she looks dreadfully young without the help of cosmetics, and despite her character, she would like to appear to be a bit more mature than a twelve year old girl. Her long, layered brunette hair reaches to her bust line and has a hint of strawberry blonde highlights streaking through it due to her being outdoors so frequently.
Scarlet views the world at a five foot one standpoint and has a difficult time of seeing over others, instead being forced to look up to them. Tempted as she is to wear high heels to raise her off the ground a bit, she decides against it because they would only get in the way of her adventurous nature. She is rather tiny, much to her disdain, as it only emphasizes how child-like she looks. She weighs about one hundred and fifteen pounds, and isn't much concerned with the number increasing because she'll more likely than not shed it off while exploring.
She clothes her petite frame in anything she may deem sophisticated or elegant, usually preferring graceful yet comfortable clothing as opposed to stuffy ornate dresses that so many other girls wear. Her taste in fashion ranges from fitted pantsuits and simple sundresses to vintage tees and oversized sunglasses. Oh, take me to Wonderland. ♥ Fairytale Appearance
Scarlet's fairytale appearance lives up to Disney's design for the most part, save for a few personal adjustments. She wears a blonde wig (as she is rather fond of her hair, and will put off dying it until she is forced to) and ties a stark black ribbon in it with a bow tied to the side rather than the center. She wears bright blue contacts and refrains from wearing makeup of any sort, as looking like a little girl while she is playing Alice works out in her favor. She wears a powder blue dress with a frilly white apron, with hearts embroidered into the ruffles. Her black and white stockings have a checkerboard pattern, and on her feet she wears black Mary Janes.

How I am
Scarlet has had a burning curiosity and a thirst for knowledge since she was a little girl, constantly finding herself in troublesome predicaments in her younger days due to her intense urge to always want to learn more, about anything and everything. She quickly discerned the reason behind her mother insisting to put the porcelain which she found to be ever so pretty out of her reach, and why the fire alarms lining the school hallways were labeled “FOR EMERGENCY USE ONLY” through means that somehow always landed her on the receiving end of a scolding. But however was she supposed to find out what they were for without trying them out herself? She found her methods to be entirely reasonable; adults were just silly and overreacted to everything, that's all. While she's grown out of her tendencies to break things – for the most part, anyway – she still sometimes ends up causing trouble of some sort for herself and isn't a stranger to the confines of the detention room.
Despite being accused of being a mischievous juvenile, Scarlet never forgets her manners and treats others with the utmost respect, whether they be deserving of it or not. Due to her naivety, she isn't one for making judgments based upon how someone interacts with others and thinks ill of no one, so long as they don't do harm to her personally. She'll trust anyone, no matter what reputation they may brandish, and doesn't consider it to be foolish in the least. Because of this, she is easily deceived, and is often times completely unaware of it. She readily believes that everyone has good in them, and her position on the matter remains unwavering despite what anyone may say.
While she is courteous to everyone, she sometimes mistakenly makes the wrong remarks at the wrong time and manages to upset others despite her well-meaning. She is rather put off by others' rudeness and will quite plainly tell them that she doesn't appreciate it.
Even though she desperately wants to come off as a mature adult, her inability to control her feelings hinders her from doing so. When her anger is able to get the best of her, her gentle demeanor changes to a rigid, sharp tongued one. She throws tantrums like a small child would and has absolutely no shame during her bouts of unbridled emotion. She is horrifically embarrassed after having a fit and tends to keep to herself to wallow in self pity once she's done. She wants nothing more than to be able to act more grown up and strives towards her goal despite the Academy's distaste for it; they chose her for the role of Alice because of her incompetence of being an adult, after all, and she remains oblivious towards the lessons they sneak into her curriculum that only encourages the behavior.
Scarlet probably has more imagination in her pinky toe than most have in their entire beings, constantly proposing odd fantasies and often wonders aloud to herself. Her perception of life is different than how others' view it, meaning she's never bored, even when performing mundane tasks such as flossing her teeth – she sometimes goes on tangents, like imagining the floss to be a lasso and her teeth as cattle, 'herding' them all. She can sometimes become sidetracked and gets lost in her daydreams, unable to focus on whatever may be going on in reality because she's too caught up in her own little world.
She has never had the chance to be in a relationship and is rather curious in regards to what 'love' is – she's heard so much about it, yet she can't actually explain what it is, which irks her greatly. Hard as she may try to determine what it is through carefully analyzing the acts of those who claim to be in love (and maybe even wander into Cameron's room to study his romance novels), she is only able to vaguely grasp the concept of it, lest she experience it for herself. She can't help but think it's hopeless, seeing as how she is to play the role of a child. Yet, she remains determined, and refuses to give up until she is able to fully comprehend it.
How I came to be
Scarlet's parents were fresh out of high school upon discovering that they were expecting a little girl in a matter of months. Along with the sudden anxiety that weighed them down came a near dire pressure for her father to formally take her mother off the market, and so, he wholeheartedly sacrificed the rest of his education in order to do so. Delving into his pitiful at best college funds, he bought her a proper engagement ring and proposed to her immediately afterward. She accepted the proposal, and the two were married within weeks – wedding expenses paid for by her mother's financially secure family, of course.
Scarlet was born soon after the two were settled in a home of their own, a humble cottage nestled in the outskirts of town. Her father converted their sprawling lawn into a beautiful garden, with flowers of an array of colors growing wildly throughout it. It was Scarlet's absolute favorite place in the whole wide world, and she spent a great many days chasing butterflies and holding only the most extravagant tea parties amongst the flowers with rabbits, caterpillars, stray cats, and small mice that she would bring home from the forest adjacent to her home.
The rest of her childhood, however, consisted of staring at the wall of the principal's office and the 'time out' corner in her room, mostly due to her indignant comments directed towards her teachers, like, 'How can I possibly be expected to read a book without any pictures?' or 'With all due respect, if I were teaching this class, maybe I wouldn't be so tempted to fall asleep; my lesson plans would be much less dull'. It wasn't her fault that her classes were impossibly boring and she was unable to absorb even the least amount of information.
At one point she was mistakenly diagnosed with ADD due to her inability to pay attention in school and she was prescribed pills that only made her irritable; they didn't prevent her from making her blunt observations known, nor did they help her focus. If anything, they made it worse, and was thus taken off of the medication, instead being jokingly diagnosed with a case of 'overactive imagination'. Her doctor assured her parents that it was simply a phase she was going through, and she would get over it by the time she hit puberty.
But she never did 'get over it' – her tendencies remained the same throughout the years, and because of this she was held back several times in more than one grade. Her teacher's threats to call her parents to address the problem were promptly ignored; her parents had given up hope on her long ago. The faculty of the school was puzzled as to what they should do with her, and eventually resorted to putting her into classes with the autistic children in a separate building from the rest of the school.
It was safe to say that her parents were mortified. Their daughter was in no way mentally handicapped. (her mother often burst into tears, wailing 'Where did we go wrong?' when she thought Scarlet was tucked away in bed)
Scarlet fell into bouts of depression after learning how ashamed they were of her, and would spontaneously begin sobbing in the middle of class, which only solidified the teachers' theory that she did, indeed, belong with the autistic children. Scarlet wanted to make her parents proud, she really did – she didn't want to be like this anymore. She wanted to be normal, like everyone else. But she didn't understand how to do that, and the realization of this only frustrated her and sent her into more sniveling fits.
Her parents then received a letter from Ever After Academy, under the guise that they were a facility for the learning deficit and they would be able to assist their daughter with little difficulty. Doubtful as they were, they didn't have any other choice – either send her away or allow their beloved daughter to carry on living life as a failure.
While Scarlet misses her parents terribly, she was delighted that the courses she was offered at Ever After required her to use her imagination, and use it often. She was finally able to pay attention in class, and felt an overwhelming happiness at that accomplishment. No longer would her parents have to cry themselves to sleep at night or be constantly reminded of their failure of raising a child; in fact, in the first (and last) letter they wrote to her, they were to be expecting another child at any time now. Though it was not explicitly stated, Scarlet could tell they were excited to have a fresh start. Despite the intense amount of hostility and envy she held towards her soon to be sibling (so much so that she tore the letter up and burned the pieces after reading it), she repressed it in favor of the joy she felt for her parents; they wouldn't have to worry about her anymore, and perhaps now they could move on with their lives.

There's something else you ought to know
Scarlet has a paralyzing fear of the dark. Not only are her worst memories from her childhood the ones from the long nights of listening to her mother's heart wrenching cries, but her imagination also runs rampant when she's in the dark. Her mind believes that there are horrible monsters lurking in the shadows, lying in wait to do unspeakable things to her if she so much as dares to close her eyes. She is thrown into a panic if left by herself in the dark, and absolutely can not sleep if she doesn't have a night light of some sort. She is hesitant to go out after dark, unless she has someone to accompany her; she prefers to be in a group of people, but she is able to make due with only one. .::Queen of the Brainless::. { My hair is the same...brown, shoulder length and horribly unmanageable.}

Daaaaang Ali. I can't tell you how much I love reading Cameron. I can't wait to see how he treats Marty, Martin, and Sierra. Of course, I can't help but think of a dog and a cat fighting when I think of Martin and Cameron talking.
So to criticize Scarlet, I'm wondering why she would wear a wig. Not that there's anything wrong with it, but wouldn't it be better to just dye her hair blond? From what we've made the Academy sound like, they enjoy permanent solutions, and they'd probably want her to dye her hair if she wasn't a natural blond.
I also understand the ignorance of other people's feelings. I've got that same obliviousness when it comes to flirting... sweatdrop But from what you're giving us, I have to wonder why she wouldn't be curious about love. For such a curious girl, she'd be interested in something that no one has really got a clue over. But if she's not interested, then why not? She doesn't intend to fall in love which means she understands it, but what is keeping her from doing so?
She sounds very calm, but I can't tell if it's just because of her curiosity or because she's really that apathetic (maybe even selfish). Does she really not care because she's that lost in her imagination or can she feel frustrated over what is happening in the real world? How aware is she of the real world and does she emotionally respond to them?

Aw, I'm glad you do! Haha, I've been wondering that myself. But, in a sense, Martin is a dog, and Cameron is a cat.
Actually, Shauna suggested the wig idea to me. I originally had her dye it with temporary color, but I'll change it to permanent.
And thank you so much for pointing that out! I felt she needed more elaboration, but I wasn't entirely sure where. I'll make sure to fix it. ♥

Haha, I can see the insults or maybe even joking nicknames. Mangy Cat/Stupid Dog immediately comes to mind.
Oh no, if you want to keep the wig, that's perfectly fine. I just wanted to understand why the wig was necessary. But yes, she could wear a wig until the school finally forced her to dye it blond. If she is that partial to her hair, they could probably give her some time to get used to the idea of blond hair with a wig. But she would have to eventually get it dyed and lose the wig.

I'm thinking we ought to start the next morning now...
Maddie - If you want to forget about Ryan that's perfectly acceptable. I don't think you do though, so this is my suggestion. Have Ryan wake up this coming morning screaming - he had a nightmare about being in a burning room and somehow Ephraim was involved. Be fuzzy about it and have Ryan forget the incident as nothing more than a dream.
Speaking of Ephraim, I want to know where he is. If any of you know, mind letting the rest of us in on the secret? 'Cause disappearing without any warning is a a bit worrisome.
The same remark could be said about Jenna.
And last, but certainly not least, Elaine, thank you. I was worried I wouldn't do this any justice, and it's nice to hear from you again. mrgreen We all miss you!
