Arielle Shore
"Thanks Kedrick," Arielle said with a small grin. The smell of the food was just so good. She couldn't wait for it to be finished and to eat. She wasn't even feeling really nervous anymore about dinner with Dimitri. She almost wanted to call her friend but her thoughts were interrupted with the doorbell ringing. Surprised, she wondered who it could be and didn't move as Kedrick seemed to think that it could and couldn't be Dimitri at the door now.
She could only blink and nod, not even having a full chance to say hello to Dimitri before Kedrick dragged him off. Shrugging her shoulders, she got out of her seat and walked over to the stove, picking up the recipe and giving it a good look over. Finding out where she was now, Arielle continued with the recipe, taking a small taste of the soup with a spoon and adding a little bit here and there to make the flavor a little better.
Arielle was able to hear the conversation since they were close to the door. She tried to ignore it of course and work on the dinner. She jumped in surprise when Dimitri yelled at Kedrick, only assuming that Dimitri found out that she knew. She sighed, feeling somewhat guilty for knowing such a difficult past and went on with the cooking. She only stopped when she heard crying. Looking back at Kedrick, he could see him hugging Dimitri who was crying. She saw that he was looking at her but she didn't blush in embarrassment. She could only look at him maturely and give him a small smile, as if it was enough to say that everything would be alright.
I'll make this an enjoyable evening for Dimitri, Arielle thought as she turned away and continued with the soup.
((Such a monster part Tobi @.@.))

Kedrick Suwa
(( XD sorry, I got a bit carried away ))
Kedrick looked down, rubbing Dimitri's back gently. "it's okay...it'll be alright." he said, although, until he knew what exactly what was happening, he shouldn't make a promise that he may not be able to keep. "come one...tell me whats going on..." he prodded gently. "what kind of family trouble?" Dimitri straightened up a bit, rubbing at his eyes and trying to quell the wracking sobs. "my...he..." He paused a moment, drawing a breath and collecting his wits. "...He was trying to get me to come back..." Dimitri said softly. "my...my step dad I mean...worst part is, I...I have to." Kedrick face settled into a dark expression. "he cant make you come back." he said firmly. "you have your own place, you double rent an apartment with that guy Eric right?" he asked, grabbing Dimitri's shoulders gently. "not anymore." Dimitri said. "Eric left to join that army four moths ago, and I can't cover the rent" "I'll help you." Kedrick interjected immediately. " I can't ask you to do that." Dimitri said, his voice, now strengthening slightly, raised. "Do you want to go back!?" Kedrick asked, slightly annoyed that Dimitri wasn't willing to except his help. "NO!" Dimitri said, unable to keep from yelling. he paused a moment and softened his tone, the next words coming out as a croaked whisper. "no...I don't....I..." Kedrick smiled, stopping him with a raise of his hand. "then let me help, I can make up the other half of the rent. It'll be no different than before. Dimitri shook his head. "okay. you win." he said, wiping his face again." do you need a minute?" "no...I'm fine." Kedrick smiled softly at his friend. "kay then, lets get some dinner. oh! one more thing." he said, standing up and leaning over to put his hands on Dimitri's shoulders. "you know you're my best friend in the whole world and I love you to pieces right?" he asked Dimitri smiled, and smacked him lightly on the side of the head. "'course, what kind of a friend would I be if i forgot?" Kedrick grabbed his hand and pulled him to his feet. "come on then." the two boys walked back into the kitchen.

Arielle Shore
Arielle continued cooking, taking a few sample tastes to make sure everything tasted well, and of course following the recipe that was near her. She knew that she was basically done, but she would drag it out a bit until the boys came in. Turning the stove off, she started looking for bowls to place the stew in plus glasses.
She heard footsteps as the boys started to walk back into the kitchen. She turned around and smiled at both of them before walking up to Dimitri and giving him a friendly hug, holding on to him for some time. She moved back a little after a few minutes and smiled warmly at him, her hands resting on his shoulders.
"If you ever need someone besides Kedrick to talk to, I'll always be there for you," Arielle said looking him straight in the eye, still having a small smile on her face, "I know it wasn't my business to know, but I want you to know that I'll be here for you, just like Kedrick. I mean, that's what friends are for, right?"
She let go completely and stepped back, walking back over to the stove. Arielle turned to face the two boys and smiled, "Now come on. Dinner's ready and I would like to try this stew before it gets cold."
((Poor Dimitri T~T. And I saw Rango. It was good = w =))

Kedrick Suwa
Dimitri blink in surprise when Arielle hugged him. His cheeks actually turned a little pink, which was not his normal reaction when a girl hugged him. He glanced at Kedrick for a moment in bewilderment, then, hesitantly placed his hands on her back. "thanks." he said simple. it was the only thing appropriate for the situation that he could think to say. Dimitri smiled at her when she pulled back, nodding his head in agreement to the comment about dinner. He took a seat, pulling his own chair in. "here, let me help." Kedrick said, taking the hot bowl of stew from Arielle's hands, taking it over to the table and setting it in front of Dimitri. His friend looked up at him with a half-hearted smile. "Kedrick, I'm touched, you made me mud." he said, looking back down at the stew. "At least I'm not planing on feeding it to the cat." Kedrick joked back, jostling his friends shoulder gently. Kedrick helped carry over the other two bowls, pulling out Arielle's chair for her then having a seat himself. He picked up his spoon. "chow!" he said, with a grin, and dipped the spoon into his bowl of stew. Dimitri shook his head with a small smile, beginning to eat as well.
((yep, and I though the commercials for it looked good XD ))

"I helped make the mud too!" Arielle exclaimed with a small giggle as she pulled out three glasses, setting them down at the table. "And I can tell you right now, that "mud" tastes good. I made sure of it myself. Well, I only hope so that is." She walked to the fridge and looked inside before looking back at the boys, "Is there anything you guys want to drink?"

Kedrick Suwa
Kedrick smiled at Arielle's indignant comment about helping."that's an old joke." Kedrick said with a smirk. "as you may have gathered, I made stew and Dimitri said it looked like mud." "well it did." Dimitri replied evenly, taking another bite. "milk would be fine." he added in Arielle's direction. "As I was saying," Kedrick continued in and exasperated tone. " I told him I planed to feed it to a stray that had been hanging around and he almost exploded." Dimitri looked sulky. "did not." he said. "you did so, don't lie." Kedrick said without missing a beat. "ahg!" Dimitri sighed in indignation, rolling his eyes. Kedrick, with a smile, decided to let the matter go before Dimitri became to annoyed. "I'll have milk as well." he said to Arielle with a smile. Kedrick smiled fondly at the memory, he and Dimitri's friendship had been scattered with good and bad memory alike, the bad ones though where much more easily forgotten than the good.He could remember the first time they eat dinner together, Dimitri had razzed him so badly about his cooking it had actually upset Kedrick, but then Dimitri apologized and stopped giving him a hard time. He shook his head with a smile, it was ridiculous to think such a trivial thing as that had upset him so badly.

Arielle Shore
Listening to the story, Arielle could only smile and take out the milk from the fridge. She was so happy that she could see them both enjoying themselves. She poured the milk and all three of their glasses and returned the milk back to the fridge before joining the boys at the table.
"That sounds like it must have been a great time," Arielle said with a smile, "If only I was there to witness this from the beginning. I just hope I did well on this. Kedrick thinks I'm as good of a cook as my grandparents, but no one can compare to them."

Kedrick Suwa
Dimitri smiled shaking his head. "I think I'm going to take Kedrick's side, and I haven't even met your grandparents." he said with a smile, still holding a spoonful of stew. "It's fine, don't worry about it." he said finishing the spoonful. Kedrick smiled, he was glad Dimitri was so intent to compliment her, after all, as he had though earlier, Dimitri hadn't given him the easiest time when he first cook for him. He took another bite, momentarily lost in thought. He had always known Dimitri to be a fast healer, but his swift recovery for their earlier conversation was surprising even to Kedrick. He wondered if it was because Dimitri didn't want Arielle to see any weakness in him, or maybe it was that, after Kedrick had offered to help, he wasn't afraid anymore.

"We might have to change that then," Arielle said with a light laugh, "I'm sure my grandparents would be excited to meet you, especially since you're our friend. They already love Kedrick and I'm sure they'll love you. They just love having company over too. Infact, I bet my parents would love meeting you to. I mean, that was if they were still with us." She wished she didn't end the sentence on such a depressing note, but she smiled anyway, trying to show it wasn't a big deal.
"I'm glad you like it then. I don't know why you're going to act like Kedrick about it. I keep telling him that I'm not that good," she smiled warmly again before taking a small sip of her drink and eating her stew. "So, what do you guys want to do after dinner?"

Kedrick Suwa
Dimitri coughed slightly at the mention of meeting anyone's parents/grandparents. It had always been one of his worst nightmares that he would come off a seedy or inappropriate company in front of someones parents. He pounded briefly on his chest to clear his air passes, subsequently clogged after him mini coughing fit. He straightened up, brushing a stray hair out of his face. He hated do disagree with Arielle, but it made his heart pound faster to think of making a bad impression on her family. "ah..." he rubbed the back of his neck, fumbling for an idea. "lets see...after dinner, we could...uh, I don't really know..uh...Kedrick?" he said, looking at his friend for any form of an idea. Kedrick rubbed his chin as he had a habit of doing when he was think. "we have board games in the den, we could play one of them....I think there are some video games if you two are into that kind of thing....What do you think Arielle, anything you want to do?"

Arielle Shore
Arielle blinked in surprise at Dimitri's reaction to the offer of meeting her grandparents. Maybe he was nervous about meeting her guardians. She was thinking about getting him some water but he seemed to be alright and breathing by the time the thought had crossed her mind. She couldn't help but grin lightly, but she really did want him to meet her grandparents.
As they tossed around ideas, Arielle continued eating her stew, trying to think something up. She almost mentioned watching a movie, but she realized how awkward it would be. When Kedrick mentioned video games, she smiled and looked at the two of them, "I wouldn't mind playing a video game. What game systems do you have?" She had a feeling that her game geekness was showing, but she didn't care. This was a night to have fun.

Kedrick Suwa
Kedrick stood up, picking up his own empty bowl as he did and holding his hand out for Dimitri's. His friend, looking up, handed him the bowl witch had been all but licked clean. Kedrick frowned thoughtfully for a moment, then began listing the game stations he knew had come with the mansion. "Wii...PS2...PS3...and something else I think...can't remember the name...." He said, snapping his fingers repeatedly, trying to trigger his memory. "X-box?" Dimitri supplied, and Kedrick wheeled around, pointing a finger in Dimitri's face. "THAT"S IT!!!" He cried, and Dimitri, shocked by the sudden assault, fell backwards out of his chair. Kedrick stared at him for a moment, dumbstruck. Then, set the bowls down on the counter and, laughing, went to help up his friend. "what was that for?" Dimitri mumbled grumpily, rubbing the sore back of his head with the hand that wasn't clasped in Kedrick's. Kedrick smiled, making sure Dimitri was steady on his feet before relinquishing his grip on his hand. "sorry," he said, genuinely apologetic, but not being able to help the hint of amusement that crept into his voice. "It's not funny." Dimitri growled at him. "I know, I know." He turned to glance at Arielle over his shoulder. "C'mon, lets head to the den and see what we can find to play."

Arielle listened intently to each gaming station that was listed. She was excited to know that he had a Playstation 2 and a Wii. She could probably snag some of her Kingdom Hearts games from her grandparents house and play them when she wasn't too busy. She stared at Dimitri in surprise before she ended up laughing with the two of them.
She finished her bowl of stew and headed over to the sink, placing the dish down carefully. She smiled and shook her head lightly at the two. "You two are probably the silliest boys I've ever seen. But let's go play some games."

Kedrick Suwa
Kedrick smiled back at her, "I think Dimitri and I can both testify to the truth of that." He said with a grin. "But you're right, lets go." Kedrick put an arm around Dimitri shoulder, giving him a tight squeeze, and reached back discreetly to take Arielle's hand. He was a little embarrassed, but after all, he reasoned, He had told her he had feelings for her and she had returned them hadn't she? He smiled slightly, his embarrassment abating.
The three friends stepped into the comfortable interior of the den, and Arielle was reminded of how nice and comfortable it was. As if joined at the shoulders, the two boys sank simultaneously to the floor in front of the bookcase. After that, all Arielle could here was incoherent mumbling as the two flipped though the games. "Hey!" Kedrick said, the first word that was comprehensible to Arielle. "remember this?" He asked, handing one of the games to Dimitri. "I remember.....beating you at it." Dimitri said with a cocky smirk. "wanna bet?" Kedrick asked, jumping to his feet, and like that, the game was decided. It was a racing game that the two boys had picked, It had good graphics and outlandish tracks, but it looked fun. Kedrick slid it into the game station of choice, once again plopping himself down next to Dimitri. "ready?" he asked Arielle, touching to place on the floor next to him, as if in silent request.

Arielle Shore
Arielle smiled at the two best friends. She had a good feeling that things would go alright for that evening, now finding her nightmare completely ridiculous. Her cheeks grew warm as Kedrick made contact with her hand, a feeling of butterflies in her stomach soon came. Her smile became shyer now.
As they entered the den, Arielle just watched as the two boys seemed to be in the world of their own, almost like she didn't exist. She didn't say anything, but peaked as much as she could to see what game they chosen. She nodded and sat down, feeling excited. "I'm ready. But I'm not that good in racing games."
