She's adjusting it I think... and DA, since you're younger then the other scientists we've got. Maybe Lab Assistant would be a better job description, unless you want to be more skilled in the fields of astrophysics and astrogation, then you'd be ship navigator.

There's nothing wrong with lab assistants. I need more slav- i mean scholarly laborers to help carry the organisms I find. Considering the only other organic that is of any particular use to me happens to be... the plant I keep as a pet in the corner, as it probably knows more about the planet than the monkeys that assist this droid in procedures and abilities, it'd be nice for someone to jigg- i mean occupy the other scientists time for me to have some peace and research time.

So are our Redshirts gonna be Czerka Combat Droids or actual fleshy beings?

I'm just gonna stick with scientist/entertainer.
Lab assistant kinda limits what she can do, and scientist can really be various degrees on just what she's good at. Maybe's she's got a Ph.D. in the scientific field of studying the effects of lust... blaugh
Anyways, the idea is still she's really smart, just inexperienced in actual worldly studies. I changed the bio a bit so that she's given the chance to join the crew to give her that experience of exploring and discovering new things.

...Great. 4 scientists and no lab assistants. I'm betting the less experienced scientists are getting pigeonholed into that role.
As for Red Shirts... We have exploration droids and, that's about it.

*shrug* there's nothing that says your intelligence is necessarily the same as a full fledged scientist. If anything, being inexperienced in the field, aka worldly studies, would be more indicative of a Lab assistant. *shrug*

Well, we could just say the world exploration isn't her strong suit. Not every scientist is an expert in everything. A physicist, for example, might not know crap about chemistry. Someone studying Singularity Theory might not entirely grasp Quantum Mechanics.
I'm thinking of an accidental mad scientist type.
" Okay, we need to send a distress signal, and all our equipment is down... * MacGuyvers a launch pad with a flare primed and ready * Alright, this should send the flare up and... * launches flare, flare mortars into the distance and detonates, destroying some nearby flora * ... Turn into a miscalclation, turning the flare into a warhead. "

I really kinda like our exploration droids...
Also, why is a droid our Chief Science Officer? And the R6 can serve as a lab assistant when needed...(sorry Missing)
Anyway, so far as scientist on-board, we have a botonist/zoologist, a medical professional, and whatever Blusi specializes in. My character is knowledgeable in physical geography and some zoology and our outbacker, Rodyn's Chiss is probably a skilled navigator, a mechanic droid and an enigneer.
What other kinds of knowledge do we need to cover? Maybe a psychoanalyst?

Jaden_Ordo Username: Your Mom cool Name: Ruust'narek Nickname: Rusty or Rek Age: 34 Gender: Male Race: Twi'lek (Lethan) Crew Position: Mechanical-Military Engineer / Mercenary Main Weapon: RT-97c Heavy Blaster Rifle Sidearm: Model 434 Blaster Pistol, Large Twi'lek Vibro-Dagger Equipment: Hydrospanner, F-187 fusioncutter, Commlink, 2 Binder cuffs, MREs, Emergency First Aid Kit Description: Ruust'narek is a rare Lethan Twi'lek, a twi'lek with a deep vibrant crimson skin hue. He stands at 1.88 meters, weighing around 225 pounds. Rek has large schrapnel scars from his left lower abdomen all the way up his chest to the right side of his neck and right facial cheek, a trophy from his final battle of the Yuuzhan Vong War. Rek's casual attire is a grey tunic and black pants with brown combat boots. Rek wears a few pieces of Imperial Sand Trooper armor on his chest, back, left shoulder, left upper/lower arm, and left gauntlet, a trophy he took from his first kill as a Mercenary. Rek sports a large brown duster that conceals most of his body. He decorates his lekku with beads that belonged to his daughter and feathers from various places around the galaxy. Short History: Ruust'narek was born on Ryloth, a blessing to his parents due to his beautiful crimson skin. He had a normal childhood, with the exception of having to help bring food into the house. He worked part-time with an uncle as a mechanic, learning the skills of the trade. Eventually, he grew up and became a professional mechanic. For the most part, he fixed swoop bikes, civilian transports, and any other ships that needed some fixings. He married a beautiful rutian Twi'lek named Shahr'azad and had a beautiful daughter. In 25 ABY, the Yuuzhan Vong invaded the Galaxy and bombarded many planets. Rek was among on of the billions who lost their home and families in Vong attacks. So, filled with hatred and feeling he had no home left on Ryloth, he left and joined the New Republic Army as a Military Engineer in 26 ABY. He fought against the Vong for 3 years, including in the Battle of Borleias, all the way until the 2nd Battle of Coruscant. During the re-taking the planet, his unit was paired with an armor unit from the Imperial Remnant. While on patrol, their AT-ST walkers were hit by mortar fire and most were destroyed. Severely injured from the resulting shrapnel, Rek and two other engineers did their best to make enough repairs to the walker so that it's pilot could fend off the oncoming Vong. Shortly after the firing began, Rek fell unconscious. He awoke in a Mobile Hospital to find out that the fighting had ended and they had won Coruscant back. The doctor informed him that, due to his injuries, he was being honorably discharged. He was enraged that he had not been there to help his brothers take back Coruscant and that he had done so little to avenge his family. Weeks later, when he was released from the hospital and after the ceremonies, he left Coruscant for Nar Shaddaa, the only place he thought he could start a new life. There he became involved with a group of mercenaries and on his first job with the group, traveled to Tantooine to kill an old Imperial for some gambling debt he owed a Hutt, collecting the armor and rifle from the man's home that he would wield for the remainder of his career. Currently, he working as a Merc for the Czerka Arms Corporation, mostly doing engineering and mechanical work, but always willing to take up his rifle and slag whoever he has to. He is wholly unaware that he is about to be assigned to a mission that will change his life. Quote: "If it ever worked before and I can't fix it, damned fine chance it ain't supposed to be fixed." Theme Song: In Time Here's the updated profile Stellar. Looking at it, I figure he's a little better of a character this time.

It seems our Jedi has anti-droid opinions of the matter. Oh ho ho, i'm going to enjoy it.
And for the record, unless you can find a scientist on board that matches 40 years of quality research like my droid, go ahead. I think I'm more than qualified to point out how badly your organic feet has just destroyed my research again.

Nothing anti-droid about it, nor is this in-character opinion.
I'm just not seeing how a reprogrammed commando droid is better qualified for the job.

Idea for a gag plot: The entire mission is a front for an experiment on the ship itself. The crew are all deranged to some degree.
A technophobic theoretical physicist, a passive and introverted Captain, a depressive morale officer, a slob janitor, a virus-ridden droid, a geographically-impaired navigator, a pilot with horrible hand-eye coordination, etc.
The experiment itself being to determine if they can overcome those adversities, or if it all falls to Hell.
