Rona narrowed her eyes for a minute as she remembered. Shaking her head, she stood from the branch and looked at the ground. "I should go and try to fix things with Gem and Serena," she said, jumping to the forest floor. "Would you like to come?" she asked, looking back up at Elkan.

"As I said, I'm not much of a people person. I'd pick a fight with someone again." He shrugs and pulls one of his knees to his chest, resting his chin on his kneecap. He stands up on the branch suddenly and straps on his katana, jumping to the padded ground of leaves gracefully. He hangs his head. "Let's go. I should say sorry for my earlier disruptences, but after that, I'm coming back to this tree."

Rona nodded and smiled at him. "Fair enough," she said quietly. "I'll probably join you. I want to watch the stars from one of these trees." Turning, she began to walk back to the clearing.

Elkan follows her almost obidiantly. He smiles a bit and holds his head high, obviously showing his high ranking in the social system. "Thank you."

"You're welcome," she responded, but remained silent the rest of the way. When she stepped into the clearing, she stopped. "Serena?" she called out hopefully, "Gem? Are you still here?"

"I think it's safe to say that your friends aren't here." He stands up, brushing off some leaves from his pants. He looks down at her, noting her features again in his head, but turns his face away in a attempt to hide the red under his eyes.

Rona looked at the shadows covering the ground for a moment before turning her gaze back up at the trees. "Thanks for coming back," she said to him before turning and heading for the trees. Grabbing a low hanging branch, she jumped up and did a handstand on the branch before vaulting herself higher up into the tree. Grabbing onto the main trunk, she began to climb until she found a good star-gazing branch and settled herself, watching the stars emerge.

Serena was watching them from behind a tree on the otherside of the clearing. "Aahhhhh... They're so cute!" She could barely hold back a squee. She padded around the undergrowth some more.

Elkan follows, but lands closer in another tree, just he balances on the top branch, his frame silloetted on the moonlight. He looks up at the sky, noting small constillations, but refrains from finding all of them. He steadies his gaze and looks calmly through the trunks and the brush at the bottom of the tree tops. He sees a small rabbit, but notices that he doesn't have enough room in his belly for another meal since his last brunch. He shrugs lightly, jumping to the top of the tree Rona was in. He slinks down a bit, peering through the branches at her. "You know, the vision of the sky is so much better up here. Do you know how to balance on a twig?" He smiles and offers out his hand.

Rona smiled back up at him. "I'm not much of a balancer," she admitted, "but I can try." reaching up, she took the offered hand and steadied herself to begin climbing.

Elkan grasps her hand lightly, lifting her up quickly and holding her in his arms, one of his feet balancing on a very thin twig as he looked up at the stars, a small smile on his face. "This is true beauty. This is what I live for, and what I am here on this planet for. In another universe, there is another person just like me, doing the same thing I'm doing right now. This is our history; the history of every living being. Everything was written in the stars." He smiled passionately, his face silloueted against the moon as he held her in his arms.

Rona looked skyward, her ears drooping contentedly. "If that's true," she said quietly, "then, does that mean that our fate is already decided?" Closing her eyes, she turned her head up and breathed deeply to memorize the smell of nighttime.

"Yes. I was destined to cure the world of evil, then myself, and You were meant to be here with me at this moment. In my eyes, nothing will be perfect, than one day where destiny doesn't interfere with a life." He smiles and leaps up, landing softly on the ground twenty feet below the spot he was just standing. He sets her down on her feet softly. "How old do you think I am? In cat years, I mean." He smiles as he looks at her keenly. "You would never get it right." He crouches down and starts a fire with some flint from his pouch, the wood that was there started sizzling, the pine leaves leaving a smell of soft nights in the air.

Rona considered silently for a moment before shrugging. "I give up," she admitted, "but my guess was several thousand. I wouldn't know for sure." Sitting down softly, she turned her gaze back up to the sky and the stars. Thoughts about fate reminded her of her past, and she found tears gathering unexpectedly at the edges of her eyes.
"Yes," she whispered after a moment, "destiny not interfering would be nice."

Elkan poked the fire with a stick, making sparks shoot up into the night sky as one of the logs fell over in the fire. He smirked and shrugged. "Two-thousand one-hundred and twenty-five...That's my age." He shrugs, falling onto his back to look up at the stars high above him. He looks back at her as a tear rolls down her cheek. "Don't cry. I said something, didn't I?" Elkan sits up, and hugs her close, desperate to make her feel better.
