'I think it's time to even the odds up a little,' a new voice declared, as footsteps resounded through their surroundings, growing louder as the newcomer drew closer. A vivid, bright ball of radioactive energy flew across the room, and crashed into MK, narrowly avoiding Diedra.

As Kelissa rushed in to attack, the new Guardian sent her flying with another glowing orb. It struck her in the shoulder, burning the flesh and leaving an ugly scar in its place.



















'Ouch,' Gallaine sympathetically muttered, when she saw the mark. Resting her own hands near it but not actually touching it, she worked on repairing the damage.

The Guardian parried MK's attack with his own blade, gripping hold of him. Ignoring the flames, he threw half of his bladed staff over his shoulder, which struck Asphyxia on the back of the head. He then sparked up with radiation, focusing it all on MK.

He spiralled away, blade clattering loudly on the floor. Shaking his head, the Guardian started to pick himself up again, and noticed that he had landed near Asphyxia. She was face down on the floor, but still conscious; the odd movement gave that away. Turning his attention from MK, he made her the centre of his focus instead.



















Asphyxia's head had begun to throb painfully, both her forehead and the back of her skull. The back of her skull she knew ached from practically being clubbed by the Guardian's weapon, but this new ache at her forehead...? It felt like her skull was going to split in two. Holding a hand to the most sensitive area, she gritted her teeth, trying not to cry out loud.

's**t,' she gasped, when the throbbing intensified tenfold. Then she suddenly seemed to change.

Hand dropping, she pulled herself to her feet, and stared around, blankly. Her entire demeanour seemed so strangely cold, emotionless, and the brown of her irises had faded to white.

The Guardian fell back to avoid the fire, and in the process tripped over Leucosia. He fought hard to keep his mental grasp on Asphyxia, and as his body collided with the floor, a blast of radiation shot out from his body, damaging everything and everyone nearby.

Dropping the staff onto the floor, she kept her emotionless eyes trained on MK, and lit up with several thousand volts of electricity.

















Asphyxia shook Kelissa's hand back off her, and threw one arm behind her, striking Kelissa in the face with lightning. The force of the blow sent her hurtling backwards, and smashed into a wall.

Turning away, Asphyxia released the rest of her stockpiled electricity, using it to shock MK.

Asphyxia was thrown backwards from Diedra's attack, the Guardian pulling her puppet strings retreating into the shadows, to continue manipulating her without interruption. She immediately climbed to her feet again, the voltage surrounding her increasing exponentially, and to dangerous levels.



















'Don't. You need to recover,' Gallaine insisted, working on healing Kelissa again.

Asphyxia shot off some of the electricity that was sparking all across her body, aiming at anyone she saw to be the enemy; anyone who was not the Guardian. She tried to kick her feet free, but nearly lost her balance in the process.




















Jervaid just managed to avoid being struck by the electricity, yet it still came a little too close for comfort. Tugging his axe out of the wall, the fire that Gallaine set to it having burnt out, he chased after Evza to help her with her fight. Clasping the handle of the axe in his hands, he brought them back, and fiercely sliced straight through the Guardian's neck.
