Without harming Illiana or Zelos, she let her head bang against the wall behind her, and she broke that quiet connection she had. Staring up at the ceiling, she could hear the babies cry simultaneously as she bit her lip and closed her eyes. It only made sense that he would look after his own wife first, but she was so worried about Jay! Thier palace, their fortress that Jay had had constructed just for the Kimaches had been breached, all they had was a wooden hovel of a pauper doctor! "Aes. I don't know what to do, or where to go. Where's Wedsday? If this really were like the old days, at least I would have the three of us facing something. Our familes tear us apart, as much as we love them, we've still got to stick together."

"Ms. Pale," he sighed hard as he brought out the bandages and leaned some on the table that Kasumi was situated on "the intention was never thus. But it is so and for now I feel little inclination to abandon here and look for him. You think such of me that I had not already missed my dearest friend? The first friend I ever had? The Lady Ramirez has been assiting me and allowing me to develope my originally meager mental powers concerning entering other's minds or forseeing what is to come. It has been a transaction carried out strickly through walking sessions, and we have never met in anyother manner. I would hope that you have never heard of any of this before- I asked her for such. But now I need her, and have expressed a wish that she would come to me at my practice. Hopefully my abilities have carried to her mind and she will be arriving shortly. She is to fetch Mr. Wedsday, who is mad." The last sentance was no said to Ms. Pale's face, but was executed in a monotone voice as he wrapped another bandage 'round his wife.

No strong emotions, she was too tired now. The babies had not stopped crying, Jay still lay in a messed up bundle, and the sight of Aes removing bullets from Kasumi before bendaging her turned her stomach and it wasn't normally that delicate. Wedsday mad? No....no, it really couldn't be. He'd been more of a family to her than her own sister. Even his peculiar relationship with Kiasys Kimache was something Pale had tolerated. Not only because Kia had appealed to the controversy that surrounded her own marriage to Jay, but because it was what Wedsday had wanted, and she thought he could finally get the family he'd wanted. The orphanage, the dress shop full of girls, all attempts at that and now she thought he'd finally reached it. What had sunk him so low as to lose his mind? And if Aes had all these "mental abilities" then why hadn't he gone for Wedsday before this, or waited after bandaging Jay and Kas and then gone to heal Wed himself? Mindlessly she rocked her body back and forth until the cries turned to soft mews. So the infamous Chantico, she'd finally get to meet her outside of Pale's dreams too.

Funky timing, Chantico knocked on the door, then shuffled her feet as she waited outside. This was about the right time, right? She'd been so hesitant to lave Quin. He finally had this grand plan, and now what was she doing? She kept telling herslf that it was all to help out, and hopefully that something would come of it, that now she would be able to feel like she was actually participating in the fight against these savage heathens. They must have been heathens to do this to such a small yet tight knit group. And she thought about that woman too. How could she use the link that she'd formed with her?

No more words to Aes for right now, she was going to watch and see what took place between the two of them. Hearing the knock, she once agains shifted her weight and nudged the door open with her foot. Suer enough it was Chantico standing there, looking just as confused yet determined that she was doing theright thing as Pale imagined and pieced together from the frequent walkks they took. Even the cross necklace, finally unblurred, was there. Gaudy yet resplendant in all the gold and pearls. It wasn't a sour look, just a drained one that had her motion to Aes and lead Chantico to him soundlessly. But Pale would stay to watch the exchange.

He thought about pushing images into Chantico mind and just expressing his wishes to her that way, she was afterall the only person that could accuratly interprett his signals at this stage in his development. But seeing Ms. Pale he knew that such a gesture would be rude to their leader. Kasumi had been draped over with a warm blanket. One from the many mattress that had been piled on the tree when it was only Kasumi and himself that lived there. It seemed so long ago. "I shall be forced to skip any formalities at this time Lady Ramirez, and I do hope that this should cause no offense to you, but something has changed. Due to the condition of my wife and brother in law, it will be impossible for me to accompany you in your examination of Mr. Wedsday." he spread an arm to Ms. Pale "Our leader will have to. Explain the procedure and what you intend to do once you find him. I have only a general idea but I do know that he is still in the wilderness. Please leave now, for my sake and Ms. Pale's hope."

It sounded like he'd just given her a command, but for once she didn't bristle that someone besides a true figure of authority was telling her what to do. Aes had very carfull found out where Wedsday was and told her what to do. The only thing was how Pale was going to deal with all thise. She needed someone with her that knew a lot about Wedsday's history, Pale in that way knew even more than Aes did. But still, they'd had a really formal relatioship when they had been walkng. What would it be like now? "Pleased to meet you" Chantico mumbled as they headed out the door.

"I you." she replied a little shorter than she really needed too. She'd had to leave Illiana back there, and she doubted that Aes would be able to support two mildly irritated children as well as two seriously wounded people that were close to him. "Oh, be honest, just Kasumi is really, but still. I still have a right to think I should have taken the kids. Mab! But when did I get so maternal?" So they were headed to the wilderness, with Chantico with her the phrase "What dreams may come" was never so bitter.
((cool! So I finally get to see what this subplot is!))

*She felt the gentle touch of Aes at her side, and she then realized everything was all right. For all she knew, their house wasn't destroyed. The threat wasn't still out in the forrest, and that bloody mess wrapped up in towels was ultima, and not her brother.*
*As Kasumi began to get operated on, she would lay back on the table and close her eyes. The world seemed like a dream...words were either spoken so slowly that it just sounded like one continuous hum, or so fast paced that the words were jumbled together. The only thing she could hear clearly were the sounds of two infants crying. Suddenly she felt the cold pangs of metal entering her, drawing out the bullets that had been put in her. One...two...three. She counted each and every one until each was accounted for. She breathed a sigh of relief to herself as she began to be patched up. She began to breathe steady as a warm blanket was put over her. She opened her eyes a few minutes later, seeing nobody but that bloody mess next to her and Aes leaning on the table. She gave him a weak smile, really unable to speak yet. Then a light cough escaped her lips and she finally asked* "How are you and Zelos?"

Mr. Ultima would live. For now there was little to do for him, Aes could not replace limbs. Not natural limbs for mortals. It concerned him, but he had tried to make Mr. Ultima as comfortable as he could for when he awoke.
Kasumi naturally wore a worried look across her beautiful face. Thinking he could have never seen it again made him gaze at it a little longer than what was socially appropriate. He dropped his head close to hers, but not so much that it made contact. "Safe, safe. Both of the children are in swaddling strips near Mr. Kimache. Your condition is far more worrisome to me now."

Ultima opened his eyes in a flash and sat up as much as he could with broken arms and cracked ribs. A look of shock took his face, his mouth came open as if to scream but there was no sound but a low heaving gasp. Desperately trying to move he pulled himself off the bed and onto the floor, unable to move his arms or leg.

The moment was broken by a noise from behind him. Aes turned to see Mr. Ultima, and moved as fast as he was physically able to at that time. "Do not move, allow me to help you."

Only seeing the legs of someone coming Ultima tried to move again, this time to defend himself, trying to swing his immobile arm upwards and move forward by headbutting the air. Ultima had no idea where he was and the last things he remembered were people tearing his limbs off and burning his flesh. He was not about to let his guard down.
