So, uhm, my thumb is ******** up.
I was in martial arts today, and this guy just went full out and smashed my first three fingers with his weapon (albeit accidentally). My second finger's knuckle is pretty badly bruised, but nothing I haven't dealt with before. My thumb, however, every time the first phalanx on something I get this electric shock sensation, and the base of the nail is all blue. Lovely.
Guess I'm not going to be able to paint for a few days. Geuh.

It is pretty insanely fun, and that more than makes up for the occasional injury.
I do Kali, a Fillipino style that involves fighting with bamboo sticks and knives. I'm probably an idiot for choosing that particular style, because it has gotten in the way of my effectively working with my art supplies from time to time, but I love it so much. It's like a weird combination between boxing and fencing.
I also grapple a bit, but that's not as serious as Kali for me.
Trust me to like the ones that ruin my hands the best.

you do realize that bamboo can really hurt...but anyway, I really hope you'll still be able to paint...with all that karate...
