"Oh i'd definitely say its a good thing to have people underestimate you because you're short. Makes the look on their face when you literally and or figuratively kick him between the legs so worth it."

'Rish chuckled watching a smaller egg decide to rock and crack to show off a darling if lazy little blue. "It seems the little ones are more eager to make their appearance then any of the remaining larger eggs." He was a striking little creature. "I think the blues are my favorites. "

"You always did prefer them, even when we played." Rom looked over the candidates. "The hatching has been quite slow, I thought they went a bit faster then this."

"Mm...someone touched them early," 'Rish replied keeping his voice soft watching the blue.

A name.

Shards, it was just a name, but it made him feel slightly more at ease. Tideal, he had said. "And to you," he said gratefully, happy that he had made some form of acquaintance.

It wasn't long before another egg began to rock and shake, this time revealing a small green. She was pretty, he thought, with splotchy patterns, much like the Vanner egg from earlier. And when she Impressed, he smiled happily, silently wishing she and Hers luck.

And now, a blue - he was definitely handsome, he thought confidently, looking him over. When Tideal stood taller, he followed suit, if only slightly unconsciously, and waited, wondering who the little blue would take.

"That he doesn't," Kess agreed with a wry smile, though her brows remained knit together in concentration. It was, besides a light sweat and tense muscles, the only sign that she was still in a good amount of pain.

Handsome lazy? Kess's smile grew slightly as her eyes followed the blue. "Reminds me of my brother."

The blue was in no hurry at all. Perhaps the candidates wanted him to pick, but as far as the Quarter Horse was concerned, he had all the time in the world. They could leave, if they wanted too. He just wasn't going to spend any more energy than absolutely-

What was that? Shifting, the blue turned to look at some of his siblings. As if on cue, both the American Sport Horse Egg and the Sorraia Mustang Egg began to rattle and shake. The Sorraia Mustang broke free first, only taking a moment to peer at the American Sport Horse Egg. The brown snorted and tipped his head, swishing his tail impatiently. The moment his brother got halfway out of his egg, the Sorraia Mustang all but trotted off, nosing his way through the boys with absolutely no hesitation.

The American Sport horse grunted, pulling himself out a little bit more slowly. He was also brown, but much darker than his brother. He wasted no time, shaking the shards off his body as he started to slink towards the boys as well, pausing for a moment to eye the Quarter Horse.

The blue just blinked, shuffled his wings and nodded at the brown. He yawned again. No hurry! Of course, his brothers didn't agree. The Sorraia Mustang had already made his way well into the crowd. On his hind legs, he said, Ash'ranmine. I am ready to go. Your Tanith is ready to go.

Firyal watched as suddenly two more eggs hatched, both bearing brown dragonets. The pair were both breath-taking, but completely out of her league. Females did not Impress to browns. At least, she didn't know of any who had. Again it occurred to her that she wasn't emotionally prepared to be the first in living memory to do so. Still, the brown that came form the Sorraia Mustang egg was absolutely beautiful. And very sure of himself. She didn't recognize the boy he Impressed to, but she did congratulate him silently before returning her attention to the blue. She stood a better chance with that dragonet, though the difference was slight.

And then, there were two more hatchings: leathery browns. Zafir grinned, as one of them impressed without a moments hesitation. These were his favorites, and he was glad to at least have seen them hatch. After all, he'd missed the first.

"I don't think I've ever actually kicked anyone between the legs. In the stomach, once, but never between the legs. Too low a blow, I guess." His eyes drifted away from the blue, trained now on the dark, gorgeous brown.

Kallista and Astarteth continued to watch from the lower ledges. For the longest time no other eggs hatched. Had T'ka's sharding cousin truly damaged the eggs? How many had she touched. Kallista's eyes were almost a bright green instead of their usual hazel color. Even Astarteth's eyes were tinged with worry. The green rider was actually holding her breath, praying on the shell of her dragon that the rest would hatch okay.

Finally, a green! Thankfully the little creature seemed peaceful and content with herself. She took a little time but Impression was made to a freckle faced girl that Kallista didn't recognize. Pumping her fists in triumph, she looked up at Astarteth. "Shards this Hatching has been intense, beloved. I hope the others hatch well."

The little ones seem to be in good health. Even if their moods are fiesty. Look a blue! The green told her rider.

Looking up, Kallista watched a little blue tumble out. Apparently this fellow was going to take his time as well.

Jessan merely grinned and bore it as the Healer came up and scolded him. Sometimes, you had to take chances. And the scratches were shallow enough that they would sting for a little bit but nothing more. The Candidate kept his easy going nature and turned back to the Eggs.

Ollen was feeling irritable by this point, it was well into the night she should be curling up with Ahoy in her hammock and sleeping of the heat of the sands. She thought that perhaps she would take a long bath when this was over; not to get clean, she did not care about that, but to relax her aching muscles from standing so long, she did not dare sit down like others had in fear another raging dragonet might charge forward and trample her.

She watched the little browns and blues wondering who they would impress too, seeing the light brown dragonet stand on his hind legs she wondered if that was the moment of impression.

"By the egg." Kess's tone was breathy, almost startled as she fell silent, dark eyes locked on the two browns. They were gorgeous, and so sure of themselves! The mustang made his choice almost instantly, no one that the blonde knew, and she felt her muscles wind even more tightly as she watched the handsome blue and his brown brother.

Shards, she loved dragons.

A brown! It seemed the blue was much more patient to find 'his' than any of the candidates were to find 'theirs'... Ohh, it was such a beautiful blue though. Whoever got him would be lucky -- then again, no matter what whoever impressed was going to be lucky.

Ahh...
...
....

Was she standing far enough away to be safe? Were all of the dragonets in the eggs OK on that note?

Two browns intent on finding their other halves, no questions asked, no talons drawn. Even if the browns weren't for her, she could appreciate their drive to get things done. She wasn't smiling, she wasn't thinking overly happy thoughts. Weiwin was just waiting.

Veyes was watching the blue when the browns both hatched! He his eyes had to stray and take in the two siblings that seemed at least less agitated by each other's presence than earlier hatchlings He continued to hope that his lifepartner would find him here but as the first brown found another, he slowly remembered that chances were with this many candidates...he should try to not hope to hard or disappointment was sure to follow.

So he returned his eyes back to the other two little dragons and tried not to think too hard upon anything other than the joy of watching shells crack.

Her brother, huh? Uuni vaguely wondered what it would be like to have a brother, and then she dismissed it. She had enough trouble thinking about her two older sister's.

Leaning a little more heavily against Kess, she whispered a softly spoken, "Relax, Yours will find you." Did she believe it herself? She wasn't sure. There were a great deal of people on the sands, and only so many eggs.

But as it was, Uuni had faith that Kess's dragon would find her before the time was up.

Now, Kess had every right to call her a hypocrite as she tensed up a little as well. It was easy to say 'stay calm' and quite another to be so.
