Fire Dragon was relieved that Nils was finally awake, but he was still concerned about his exhaustion. "Kaoru, how are you feeling?"

Tibarn grinned. They had made quite a haul when they cleaned out that tent, and he was confident they'd now have enough food to wait out anything being thrown at them. He hefted another crate in his strong arms, carrying it back to the storeroom so it could be opened up and its contents put away, then ran out for the last of them.

Once back inside, the Hawk King flashed Rhys a grin. "Well, this is all working out well, hm? Let's just hope the other team gets back with some wood soon..." He glanced back at the couch and smiled at his mate, then returned to sit at her side and slide his arm around her. He was too preoccupied with keeping things running smoothly to notice Rhys' unfortunate attitude.

Ayra, meanwhile, was working on thoughts of rationing. Though the worst of the blizzard was gone, true, she needed to keep herself busy. She'd stayed inside all day, after all, while the others had gone out looking for rations, and they clearly had tales to tell. It unnerved her, how she had to stay behind. It didn't feel like she was doing anything worthwhile, nor was she able to practice her prowess on the battlefield, as she was accustomed to.

She shook it off. After she'd taken a shower (only after Lyre had used up most of the hot water, damn it all), she had tried cleaning up after the ragtag army after they had gone outside. Any work she had done was quickly messed up, though she had to admit that it was much more pleasant with people and messy than lonely and clean.

Grabbing a cup of Earl Grey tea, she smiled as Tibarn sat next to her, allowing her to lean against him and finally let out a sigh of relaxation. It felt good to have him back, though she figured that he did get the better end of the stick than she.

"How was it? Are Amelia's grand tales of adventure true? Must've had quite the fun time out there."

Nils smiled lightly. "I'm fine, Hikaru... Just a bit tired, that's all. I did too much too quickly..."

Fire Dragon stroked Nils' face lightly. "I'm just glad you're safe. I don't know what I'd do if you weren't. Be sure to rest well..."

Nils nodded, relaxing a bit, enjoying the feeling of the light touches.
"Hikaru..." He murmured before closing his eyes again.

""Just keep your eyes closed, Kaoru... you need your sleep." Fire Dragon whispered to Nils.

Nils nodded slightly, acknowledging what Fire Dragon said.
Within a few minutes, he was asleep.

Tibarn smiled and nuzzled her neck. "Well, what I could hear certainly confirms it all... I was mostly just out dealing with the little Tarvos herd that was in the forest just east of here. I didn't want them causing trouble when we're moving in and out of the manor, you know?" He carefully pressed down on his thigh, applying pressure to the gash he'd been hiding under his jeans. A Maelduin had had a Laguz Axe, and it hurt like a b***h, but he'd been able to get it to close outside before he changed back... but now all this lifting had opened it again, and he could feel sticky hot wetness seeping out between his leg and jeans, and to his chagrin he found that it was staining through his jeans. He shifted, doing his best to hide it.

"Clock tower Revenant blob?" Rhys asked, confused. "That is the strangest monster I've ever heard of. What in blazes are we dealing with out here, anyway? Did the Demon King have a Demon Queen, and they decided to have children, and now we're dealing with their surprisingly creative son Bob?"

He was pretty sure that if Fomorttis had a son, his name wouldn't be "Bob", but one could never tell--it was always the name you least expected, after all.

"Oh, would you mind getting the door for me? I'm gonna need to carry these mugs through," Rhys said, adding peppermint teabags to the mugs. "Also, is the firewood group back yet? It wouldn't be right to celebrate without them!"

"I'll get it!" Valter said as he went to open the door for Rhys.

Amelia shook her head. "I don't think Formortiis is the kind of being that has to reproduce like that, Rhys," she said with a laugh. "I think it's more like... you know how a Revenant comes because life has been brought into one corpse? Imagine hundreds of them all banding together and merging around life that has been put in an inanimate object -- in this case, a clock tower. It's kinda like that." She sipped her tea and followed Rhys, ready to help him disperse the warm beverages to the various people within the house.

"But in any case, Father Renault and the others made quick work of him... it." Amelia took a long, quiet drink of her tea. This was a nice flavor, actually. Really nice. She took another drink to avoid speaking any farther, though she shook her head to Rhys' question.

"Although that creature was strange. In a way, it didn't seem like those revenants from earlier."

"Tarvos? Those centaur beasts, right?" She thought back for a second on a few of the books she'd read while they were gone. She'd read up on Mogalls, Mauthe Doogs, and Tarvos- mostly because the last group looked so bloody unnatural. From the torso up, they resembled gray-skinned, shaggy men with unkempt hair, but below, they resembled Clydesdale horses. A powerful breed of beast, she'd read that it hadn't been decided whether or not they had a complex form of speech- they never spoke to outsiders.

"I understand, but--"

If he thought she couldn't read his moves by now, he was sorely mistaken. His lame attempts at fidgeting and moving to make sure she didn't see it didn't infuriate her so much as insult her. What, did he think she was blind, just because she didn't have hawk eyes? Well, two could play at that game.

Even though she saw the blood, she moved her hand so that it was resting on the one on his leg... and literally leaned her weight on it.

If he said anything, she could feign innocence. He'd probably do the stupid thing and grit his teeth and bear it, though. It was stupid, but male pride was what it was, and she figured that he, a king of Laguz, would be the last to give into pain in front of a woman. Especially his lover, no less.

"You weren't hurt, dear, now were you? Because, of course, you would have told me about it so we could do something about it before you risked staining the upholstery..." Her voice was a mixture of several things- a thinly veiled threat that she most definitely would apply more pressure if he lied to her, a challenge asking why he refrained from telling her about something that even now made her hand sticky, and a careful spark that let him know that if he lied to her, she wouldn't let it go easily. But at the same time, there was a sense of naivety that would let her get away with ignorance, if he yelled at her for hurting him.

Being a woman had its perks. He wouldn't dare yell at her in front of the others unless he wanted a shouting match of his own, and the deck was stacked in her favor.

Soren stared as Fiora and Alihi collapsed. It appeared Valter had been affected by well. He listened as a familiar tune fell off te lips of the pegasus rider, then he shook his head.

"No," he told the unconscious figures firmly. "It is not Leanne, Rafiel, or Reyson. The voice I would have recognized..."

Right?

He sighed and set their bodies somewhere comfortable. When he noticed Siegell fly in with supplies, he aided in the unpacking and took further inventory. Then when the food party returned the mage had provided a heal staff to treat any injuries.

Soren stared around with an extremely vacant gaze. He could not absorb a single word of what anyone was blabbering on about.

So he withdrew to himself, mumbling the lyrics to the galdr he'd heard in a dream, the galdr that a few others had been exposed to already.
