Alex stopped once she was a couple feet away from them. She looked towards Flash first, then down at Sapphire, then...her eyes fell on Steel. Her hair practically stood on end at that point.
Don't. Don't. You seen what happened. It's not her fault. She had nothing to do with Sapphire's current condition. Don't. Calm down. Don't.
"Where's Warp?" she asked as calmly as she could, but it still sounded like she grated it out.

Flash shifted uncomfortably. Normally he wasn't very aware of tension-- or so GL usually complained-- but... Brrrr.... "He went back to help someone else," he said quickly, "Back the way you came. He was supposed to get you if he bumped into you. I guess he didn't, huh?" he added with another attempt at a grin.

"I took a short cut." Alex replied, her tone relaxed very slightly. "He went back to help shadow then. Good. He'll take care of things there then." she said, her eyes still fixed on Steel. Who, hadn't moved, nor spoke. Obviously doing her best to ignore Alex.

Flash shifted again. "So... Look, not to be rude, or anything, but could we wrap this up? She's kind of programed to hate your guts," he added, indicating Steel Spider with his thumb.

Alex closed here eyes and sighed deeply, obviously trying to calm herself down. "She can't move or use any other powers, can she?" she asked, indicating towards Sapphire. "I really, really don't want to simply leave her here."

Flash hesitated. "I guess... We could leave her with you. She has a pretty severe spinal injury, from what I understand," he explained, "Warp didn't want to move her."

Alex suddenly tenced again, and looked down towards Sapphire. "Damn it." she hissed. She might not be able to move for days then. If it hadn't been for that armored...oh she needed to rip into something again. Badly.
After a long, quiet pause, she turned back towards Flash. "Warp left her with you two? Can you promice me that nothing will happen to her?" she asked.

Flash raised an eyebrow. "Um... Have you been, you know, conscious for the past week? The world's gone to hell! Of course I can't promise! I'll do my best, and if I no longer think I'm capable, I'll find someone else who can look after her better. All I can promise."

Alex's jaw tightened a bit. Conscious? Of course she has been. She well couldn't have walked around through a freaking circus while having a mess of robots trying to kill her if she wasn't up and awake. Nor could she have been freaking frozen by the one person she hated more than anything, just to be unfrozen and poked at by another person she despised. Then run back and forth and back and forth and back and forth...
"Then, I'll try to be very quick about this. I'm going to go check up on the others... No, honestly I need to beat the tar out of something very soon. The last time Sapphire was like this..." she said, but apparently couldn't finish. "I'll send someone back to get Sapphire that won't set her off." she said, glancing over at Steel.

Flash nodded. "Alright. I'll try and move her somewhere safe in the time being, so... Um... Hold on." A second later, he tossed her a spare JLA communicator. "Don't lose it, or Batman will... Anyway. Give that to whoever you send, so we can meet up if we've moved."

Alex caught the communicator and looked at it a moment. Batman? She relaxed just a bit. She knew Batman, so if he knew him too, well she could just put it in her mind that he was part of the team. That was the only way she'd be able to just leave Sapphire here.
She knodded, took one last look down at Sapphire, then raced off back down the street.

Flash watched her go, then turned to look back at Steel Spider. "Well," he said dryly, "That was... awkward. At least you didn't try to kill eachother, right? ... Thanks, by the way," he added lightly, trying not to make the words sound too serious, "For behaving. That must have been hard. I mean," he added quickly, "Not that its difficult for you to behave under normal circumstances; just the ones that involve her. I mean... I guess..." He trailed off, cleared his throat, and zipped over to peer at Sapphire Spider. "Is she doing any better, d'ya think? Could we move her?"

Steel looked at Flash a moment, then smiled and headed towards Sapphire as well. "It was much easier with your help. I probably wouldn't have behaved so well had you not kept Alex away from me." she said, then looked down at Sapphire.
Really, she didn't know if the woman was doing any better. She didn't know much about how the human body worked other than how to make it stop working. Well...she had given herself an upgrade while she had been waiting for Flash earlier. Perhaps one of her new programed functions could help. Worth a try anyway. She should have updated optics and location systems.
She stood there a moment, and stared down at the unconsious Sapphire. The color of her eyes changed a different tint of color a few times, then finally stopped on a color.
"Organs are fine. Most of the critical damage seems to be repaired. Her abdomen is fine, air passageway is open, and her spine at the back of her neck is undamaged." she said, then paused a moment to inspect any other wounds she found. "Her skeletal structure is cracked and broken in several places, multiple open wounds, but none of them seem to be bleeding or in need of immediate attention."
After a second, the tint faded from her eyes, and she turned her attention back to Flash. "I think she should be alright to move. I didn't think to check her earlier, so I'm not sure if her condition is any better than it was." she said, then paused a moment. "Where should she be moved to?"

Flash frowned. "I'm... really not sure. I usually have a martian talking me through this kind of stuff. Probably not New York; that place is a war zone." He thought for another second. "I'll go check it out. In the meantime," he added, gently leaning down and scooping up the unconscious superheroine, carefully supporting her head and neck as he did so, "You both can hide--" He blurred vanished, and then waved from the door of a laundromat down the street. "In here! I know the owners; they can keep her in the back. Do you mind staying with her?"

"Not at all." Steel called back, quickly heading towards him. "I can watch over her until you get back."
As long as he came back, that's all she was really conserned about.
