Dracula's movement barely qualified as a dodge. It was more as though he twitched his head irritably to one side and avoided the webbing. "It isn't Meglomania if you truly are better than those around you." Dracula commented, "I would have thought someone with your obvious gifts would have realised this, now you will learn." He smiled eviliy, showing his fangs. "The hard way." And with that he rocketed himself at Spider-man, throwing a devastating series of 'one-two' roundhouse punches to keep his foe off-balance, hoping to force him airborne.

Spider-man dodged the first few, blocked one (which hurt, even though it had just glanced off of his forearm), and then started throwing in his own acrobatic attack tricks. Clearly, punching him was not going to cut it. "Hmmm... I don't seem to be learning anything of the sort, oh great one; is this one of those month long courses?"

Dracula smiled. The banter was clearly intended to throw him off, This one is quite amusing. He suddenly stopped his punching barrage and reached out with one hand to snatch one of Spider-man's legs. "Not usually, you must be an exceptionally slow learner."

Spider-man pulled that leg back, and brought the other around in a blindingly fast kick aimed toward the man's head. If it didn't look like it would connect, he was fully prepared to pull back; he did not want this person getting ahold of him. "Now, now, no need to insult my intelligence," he said reprovingly, "If you really want to play hardball, insult my looks. For example, you are literally the ugliest person I've seen today, and I had a nice long chat with a walking, talking pile of goo."

Dracula turned quite suddenly into mist to allow the leg to pass throught him. Readying himself to take advantage of his opponent's off-balancing.

Spider-man gasped, pulled the leg back, and flipped up the wall and out of the way. Not that there was anything there to worry about just then. He glared at the mist. "Oh, come on," he growled, "That's not fair." Okay, so he'd have to stop playing fair. Reaching into a nearby window, he pulled one of those dinky little american flags out of a pencil holder on a desk. As he'd hoped the handle was made out of wood. Deftly, he snapped off the bit with the flag, leaving that end sharp. Now he just needed garlic and/or sunlight. What time was it, anyway?

Dracula paused. So he's not entirely uneducated, let's see if he really knows what he's dealing with. Dracula solidified then he let out a loud, mocking laugh. "What are you going to do with that? Give me a splinter? Do you have any idea who I am?" Dracula cast about for a distraction, he had to get that stake away from him. An idea suddenly struck him. Reaching down to a nearby roof top, he tore away a shopping-cart sized piece of the stone facade and threw it with all his strength at Spider-man.

Spider-man dodged it easily of course, then webbed it up so that it wouldn't fall down and hurt someone. "Vlad the Impaler, otherwise known as Dracula, otherwise know as little old man who's very, very scared of getting a splinter," he said immediately. He wasn't sure that he was right. The creature in front of him could have been any vampire. Something about the way he dressed, and his almost laughable arrogance, though... Peter really, really hoped he was wrong, of course; he had a little over a year of combat experience, and if this was Dracula, he had centuries of it. Grasping the stake firmly in one hand, he waited for the vampire to make his move; better to let his opponent be the overconfident one.

"Very good, you know your history." Dracula said, legitimately impressed. "Now, would you be so kind as to inform me whom is it that I have the pleasure of destroying today?"

Oh CRAP! So it was Dracula. Fan-freaking-tastic. "Well, aren't you the polite soulless killing machine," he replied sarcastically, "Friendly Neighborhood Spider-man; I'll be the one staking you this evening." It was a pretty lame quip, but he was a bit preoccupied with his life flashing in front of his eyes.

"Spider-man, an appropriate name considering your powers, but tell me child are you familiar with nature science? Because if you are, then surely you must know." Dracula paused, enjoying the tension. "Bats eat spiders." With that, Dracula muttered a few indistinguishable words and closed his eyes. When he opened them, they glowed a luminescent red. He then telekinetically yanked the improvised stake from Spider-man's hand, and caught it with his off-hand.

Yikes. Of course, there was no shortage of wooden objects, as acquiring that one had proved, but the fact that he could do that...."Oh, of course," Spider-man said brightly, holding himself back from mentioning that there were actually some spiders that ate bats, "You're going to wipe the floor with me. Nothing to worry about at all. The fact that you haven't been able to pull it off so far doesn't mean anything; you're just toying with me. Just keep telling yourself that, and maybe it'll even become true," he added snarkily. So he couldn't carry a stake with him... Maybe he could make a larger one during the fight. Things broke during fights; the vampire would be unlikely to notice.

Dracula smirked "Your prowess is impressive for one of your age, but I've met your kind on countless other battlefields in countless other wars over the years. The way you paused to stop that rock from crashing to the city below, the way you stopped your other foe from falling. Your fatal flaw is all too telling." With that, Dracula reached out with his mind again. This time he mentally tested the strength of the webbing supporting Shocker. Finding it surprisingly resiliant (even his telekinesis spell couldn't break it) he turned instead to the walls that the lines were anchored to. Causing several car-sized chunks to break off, and sending large amounts of debris (and shocker) careening to the ground. Now, we wait for the inevitable.

Peter's eyes widened behind the mask. Oh you.. This was just a distraction; he knew that. Ock had done this kind of thing, and so had Osborn. The knowledge didn't change anything, though; there was only one thing to do, and he didn't hesitate to do it. He leapt off the wall and started shooting weblines out like mad, securing all of the car sized chunks. Just as Shocker was about to reach the ground, webbing caught him in several places, and he stopped, swinging a little less than a foot above the pavement. A very ticked off Spider-man reached out for the wall and brought himself to a stop.

As Spider-man dived, so did Dracula. And as soon as he stopped, Dracula was right on top of him, slamming him the remaining 20 feet into the pavement with the force of a dropped safe.
