Sighing Ampersand pinched the bridge of his nose in order to stop the oncoming headache. Ok really the kid was just very enthusiastic. Ampersand just had to keep telling himself that as he did his best to ignore the brat following him. Unfortunately the kid just wouldn't shut up! Walking a little faster his long legs eating up more ground the the kids smaller ones. This however did not seem to discourage the kid who just started jogging to keep up with him jabbering on and on about whatever came into his head.

Finally Ampersand got fed up. He needed to be in a good mood his mind not clouded by irritation and anger when he finally got out of this forest. He was beginning to regret not taking Robin along just to get this kid to stop following him. Stopping he turned around and stared down at the kid his face impassive. "Look kiddo. I am not a trainer, no I cannot battle you. Also I am trying to get through this forest because I have business in Viridian City. So can you please stop following me?"

The boy looked up at him unfazed by the whole speech. For a moment the two just stared at each other before the kid grinned again and started talking again. Clearly he wasn't leaving.

Growling slightly Ampersand resorted to plan two. Running. The forests edge couldn't be to far away could it? Nah of course it couldn't be! That last thought he took off trying to escape the kid with his remaining sanity.

Sheena could only smile back and nod, stepping back from the two with her hands behind her back. Sheridan also took a few steps back, deciding to give Keegan a bit of space. "So Sheena, you're sure about this then?" she said after a moment or two, looking over at yer younger sister.

"Yes," the pink-haired girl nodded, continuing to watch Keegan stare stupidly at the Pokeball in his hand. "This is what I want, Sister."

Sheridan sighed, and nodded. "All right. Come here then," she said, beckoning to the younger girl with her free hand. Sheena obeyed, and looked a little startled when her older sister wrapped her free arm around her for a hug. "Take care of yourself, and your Pokemon too. And remember that you can always call me if you need to."

"Thanks," she said, returning the hug and then watching as Sheridan walked away. "My family decided to let me become a trainer," she said, answering a question that no one had asked. "I know it's strange but Keegan had a very strange influence on my sister," she added, turning to look at Sheridan as she headed back into town.

Meanwhile, Keegan had slowly began to wander away from everyone, heading in the opposite direction Sheridan had gone. Intrigued, Loki started to follow after his trainer but stopped when Althena held up an arm to block the Arbok's path. Loki glared at the Golduck but stopped when she shook her head. The cobra Pokemon seemed to understand then, and instead he chose to circle around Kasiya, studying the girl from every angle. Althena just sighed and shook her head again, wondering if she could pretend that she was not on the same team as the Arbok.

Keegan didn't wander too far away from the group though, as he could still see them when he looked over his shoulder. He turned the red and white Pokeball over in his hands, sure it was the right one even without opening it. There was a dark, smudgy scuffed spot on the right side near the hinges where it had been slightly damaged when Keegan dropped it not ten minutes after leaving home (good thing nobody had seen him being so clumsy). This is what he wanted, right? So why was he being so hesitant? The redhead sighed, and looked up at the crimson sky a moment before closing his eyes. He enlarged the Pokeball with a click of the button, and then opened his eyes again as he released the captive from within it. With a flash of light, Helios materialized in front of him, blinking slowly as his eyes adjusted to the light. He looked up at Keegan while Keegan looked down at him, and after a moment or two, they both smiled. The Vulpix was a bit larger than the last time he'd seen him, but he looked as though he had been well taken care of. Keegan opened his mouth to say something when a scream was heard from down the road. Both trainer and Pokemon looked up in time to see yet another dark, hulking figure approaching Sheridan in the distance. Keegan looked down at Helios again, and the Vulpix nodded before the two began to make their way towards the distressed woman and the baby Vulpix.

But now it was time for the girls to fight back. And with the way the female is in general they used more “underhanded” tactics, that brute force stuff just doesn’t cut it with them like it does with males. It was Tsunami’s turn to use Helping Hand as her partner Shining pulled off a rather large Attract. She swayed and gave an obvious wink to the opposing side as hundreds of pink hearts flew throughout the clearing like a tidal wave engulfing Sunfire in their lovey-dovey wrath. Mag gave an internal sigh, that poor Sunfire was a goner when it came to female pokemon and the move Attract. “Don’t drown him too badly Tsunami!” Mag cautioned as his beloved Flareon swooned at the sight of Shining racing at him in a Quick Attack, she was actually going to touch him! OUCH! That was a harsh touch!

Earlier that morning… Lenalee sat at the table while Alice and Pete were fixing up breakfast. “So, I take it Mag has already headed out?” Lenalee asked as she glanced at her watch, it was pretty early, 7:30 and the boy had managed to sneak past his friend and escape on his own once again. Alice noticed Lenalee’s change of expression and caught on to her thoughts. “Don’t worry about Mag. Since his parents died he has been a bit obsessed with helping out, more like protecting, his friends and family so he’s probably off training in his ‘secret’ spot right now since he let you get kidnapped right under his nose.” The two elderly people exchanged knowing glances and sat down brining a hearty meal before the girl. “But a growing girl like you needs to make sure to have a hearty breakfast before you go out chasing some scampery boy.” Pete joked. The meal was indeed immense with pancakes, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, toast, bagels, and two glasses that contained orange juice and milk. Lenalee smiled at Mag’s grandparents, how he managed to leave with their great cooking was beyond her. “Thanks a lot!” Lenalee said as she dug in.

After her delicious meal, which she gave a large portion of to her two pokemon, Lenalee was ready to set out. She obtained directions to the couple’s cabin where Mag was most likely to be at and she set out. It wasn’t that hard to find, you just had to follow the trail until it ended and then keep going up the countryside for a little bit longer before the lake would be in view. The sounds of training would likely alert her to the location long before she saw it through the trees.

Ok so the exit of the forest was farther then he thought. It was a good thing he was in pretty good shape and it wasn't to much trouble to keep up the ground eating pace he was going at. Jumping over a fallen tree branch Ampersand swore he saw a light at the end of the forest. Speeding up he dodged a few more branches before he was free from the forest and that brat who had followed him to the edges of the forest! Glancing back Ampersand did a very immature thing and stuck his tounge out at him before jogging the rest of the way to the pokemon center. There was no way he was going to this little impromptu meeting looking like he had just run through the forest.

Walking through the pokemon center doors Ampersand headed over to the bathroom. Stepping in he headed to one of the sinks and plucking his hat from his head he stared at himself in the mirror for a few seconds. For the most part he didn't look that bad. Probably just a quick wash to get the small beads of sweat that had formed from his escape off of his face. Grabbing a towel he wet it and quickly did just that before setting it down and running his fingers through his short black hair. Grinning he looked back at the mirror taking in his appearance before picking his hat back up and putting it back on his head. He was as ready as he would ever be.

Leaving the pokemon center he glanced around until he found what he was looking for, the Viridian City Gym. Walking over and hopping over the small hedge fence he made his way to the door and did something the gym doors were not used to. He knocked.

Kasiya watched Keegan wander away, trying not to interrupt the sisterly moment Sheridan and Sheena were sharing. However, Sheridan made it evident that she did not care for Kasiya's presence, and that was fine with her. b***h, please, Kasiya thought, watching her walk away. It wasn't until Sheena started speaking again that she tore her eyes away from the overdressed-woman's back. The statement confused her, and for a moment she didn't know what to say.

"What do you mean they let you?" she asked curiously, but the question would go unanswered as Sheridan let out a shrill scream from down the path. A dark figure seemed to have jumped out of the shadows at her in a threatening manner, and reflexively Kasiya took a position in front of Sheena, telling her to get back. She saw Keegan and Helios start to run to her aid though, and she couldn't help but smile a bit. "Yeah, he can be influential," she said, nodding as Seto took a few steps forward in case he were needed. "But he's a lot nicer and caring then he'll ever care to admit." Seto growled, and Kasiya reached down and put a hand on his head. "Stay back," she told the Persian. "Let them handle this. This goes for you too," she added, looking at Sheena. "From my experiences, guys seem to really get a kick out of playing hero. And it's kinda dashing, too," she added, turning back to Keegan and smiling a bit. I'll be right here if he needs me though.

The only sounds currently coming from Mai's office were the steady clicking of her keyboard and the gentle hum of her computer. With several final keystrokes, Mai saved her work and then proceeded to forward it to Giovanni, 'it' being her report on the so-called 'Team' from Sinnoh. The information she could gather was very vague, as supposedly their leader, a man named Cyrus had been imprisoned in a mental institution for delusions of world ruin. It seemed he had tried to summon some legendary Pokemon in order to destroy the world in order to create a new one, only an unnamed hero stopped his plans long before they ever left the ground. Since then, the organization known as "Galactic" had been disbanded and most of the top admins had either been imprisoned or gone missing.

Mai leaned back in her chair and put her hands behind her head, staring up at the ceiling. It was to be a busy week, and she knew without a doubt that the annoying back of self-saying heroes would be right there at Slateport, ready to interfere. A figure stopped in the doorway of the office, and as Mai looked up at him, he continued on his way. "Damn you, Leo," Mai grumbled, noting that this was the third time in an hour that he had walked past her office. No matter what she said to him he didn't seem to understand. She would not jeopardize neither their jobs nor his life for a bit of inter-office romance. She closed her laptop with a bit more force than necessary and signaled for her rose-coloured Typhlosion to follow her out of the room before she locked the door behind her. Intent on taking a walk, Mai made her way down the stairs and towards the front door, Kero in tow, when she heard a knock at the door. This surprised her as very rarely did anyone ever knock on these doors. Hand resting on the handle of her trusty pistol hidden underneath her long overcoat, she nodded for Kero to be ready as she opened the door, finding herself face to face with a ruggedly handsome man with short, black hair hidden underneath a large brimmed hat. Actually caught of guard for a moment (another rarity in itself) Mai stuttered a bit, but quickly regained her composure as very suddenly her Typhlosion collapsed in a heap on the ground beside her, fast asleep.

"Who are you and what do you want?" she said quickly, narrowing her eyes to indicate she meant business.

"Flygon! Attack with a Dragonbreath!" Kilik called out, slicing the air with his arm. He wanted this fight to be over with quickly. After all, he did have to go find his injured Lairon before it was too late. Clenching his fists tightly, he looked at the man across the field right as Flygon flew up into the air and opened her mouth wide. With a squeal, a stream of green flames burst from her lips aimed at the pink cow with the intent to knock out.

"Bessy! Use yer Bide!" The man laughed, gripping his overalls. "By the way, kiddo. Tha name is Samuel, but mos' people jus' call me Sammy." He stroked his large handlebar mustache and laughed. When he laughed, his stomach bounced. He shifted a bit, and there was a clicking noise from his spurs,(something Kilik didn't notice) which were made out of solid Steelix steel.

Bide? Kilik raised an eyebrow, That's odd. If I hit her hard enough twice, then using that move would be useless. It's like giving me two free hits. "Alright, Sammy!" he called back, "I hope you're used to losing, because I'm not going to walk away the loser!"

He laughed once more. "Energetic, ain'tchya. Shoulda known, with how loud ya were bein'!" The Miltank braced herself the moment the Dragonbreath hit and she felt the energy drain out of her body. The cow fell to her knees - a critical hit was just sustained. Sammy grimaced. "What the?!" he gulped, "Good thing Bessy's got great dex...dexteri...she can last a while!"

"Really?" he smirked, "Because if I get another hit in like that, I think you can say Bye Bye Bessy!" Kilik punched the air, "Let's hit her hard again, but this time with a Crunch!" A risky move. If she were that close, that would mean she'd be easier to hit with Bide. A small price to pay though, because she'd be that much closer to ending the fight. She squealed and took a dive bomb, aiming right for Miltank.

Well this is certainly a sour spot of trouble I've gotten myself into. Mike found himself slowly backing away from a menacing Mightyena, a Pokemon who was slowly advancing towards our hero. I can't always be this careless. the boy thought accusingly. This time he was in real danger. People can for the most part be reasoned with, or outrun. A hungry four legged Pokemon could not be dealt with in either fashion. He could try to reach for one of his Pokemon, but that would certainly give the hungry looking Pokemon just enough time to tear into his throat. Yeah, we don't want that. He took another step back, looking around for where Napalm was; that little guy was his only hope. The Bite Pokemon lowered his head, raising his tail in the air. It looked like he was ready to pounce.

The boy had to think fast. "Ha!" Mike shouted, throwing his hand out before him. "I hope you like sucking on a fireb-" the gloves sputtered and coughed a small puff of black smoke as he was forcefully reminded that he was out of fuel due to that stupid stunt he tried earlier. "-oh son of a b***h!" He screamed, shaking his hand in futility. How could I forget, that was like, five minutes ago!? Mike slid his foot back and adopted a fighting stance, maybe he could get a solid few hits on it and run far enough away to send out one of his other Pokemon. His time was up. The Mightyena leaped into the air, its teeth bared. Our hero let out a loud battle cry, drawing back a clenched fist; he wasn't going down willingly.

Just as the predatory Pokemon reached the height of his jump, a loud shrill scream could be heard as Napalm shot out of no where and tackled the Mightyena mid-air at top speed, causing the two Pokemon to crash into the ground. The collision caused the ground to erupt in dirt as the Dark Pokemon flailed about, kicking the Magby off of him. Napalm rolled away, quickly getting up and standing between his trainer and the Mightyena.

"You get an A for dramatic timing Napalm," Mike gave his Pokemon a thumbs up before breathing a sigh of relief. "Thanks. You think you can take him buddy?" inquired the boy. Unsurprisingly the little spitfire nodded once, not taking his eyes off of his new enemy, who had risen and let out an angry howl. The fight was on.

Sheena only nodded, deciding to stay behind the blonde girl (no one had done introductions as of yet) and the intimidating-looking cat. The Persian was by far tougher-looking than her own Delcatty, Fluffy, and she did not want to test that out. I wonder who this girl is? Sheena thought, watching Kasiya carefully. Maybe this is the girl Keegan said he was in love with? A devious little smile crept across the pink-haired girl's face, and she moved forward a bit, peeking over Kasiya's shoulder at Keegan. "Dashing certainly is the right word for it," she said, adding just the right amount of admiration to her voice. "Did he tell you how he oh-so bravely saved my life when we were adventuring together?" Sure, she was laying it on kind of thick, but she was curious to see what kind of reaction she would get from the blonde-haired trainer. "And we battled together, too. We made such the perfect team!"

It seemed to be pretty clear that the suspicious man had no good inentions as he approached Sheridan, and with one swipe of his gloved hand he grabbed her by the shoulder, trying to wrench her purse from her. Sheridan was screaming unholy bloody murder as the thief finally got what he wanted and began to dart away, but he had underestimated the valiantness of the redheaded trainer who had been nearby. Sure, Keegan didn't like Sheridan one bit, and he had deliciously imgined her being maimed and mangled in every manner possible, but she had proven she had a heart, and he wasn't about to let something happen to her now (whoever it was that said chivalry is dead was surely lying). It was apparent Helios felt somewhat the same way, although it was fairly obvious he was more upset about the thug having threatened his newly hatched daughter. A trail of white light emanated from behind the Vulpix as he dashed into a Quick Attack, using the burst of speed to eat up the remaining distance.

"Trap him with Fire Spin!" Keegan shouted, suddenly feeling as though nothing had changed at all. Helios complied quickly, managing to spew the scorching flames from his mouth and maintain a rather speedy pace. The towering wall of fire now blocked the thief from escaping, although he hardly looked threatened when he saw the roan-coloured fox standing before him.

"Trying to play hero, kid?" he sneered, rubbing his face with the back of his hand and glancing at the flames. "It won't do ya a lick of good!" He focefully threw a Pokeball at his feet, revealing a smallish, armor-clad Pokemon, an iron plate covering its face. "Lairon, Take that runt DOWN!" Giving a roar, the Lairon broke into a run, each thunderous footstep shaking the ground. It was painfully easy for Helios to avoid the oncoming Pokemon however, as even though it was charging its attack path was easy to predict. The Vulpix hopped out of the way, turning and firing a full-blast Flamethrower on Keegan's command.

Not wasting any time, the Mightyena ran towards the smaller Pokemon, clamping down on his arm with its sharp teeth. The Magby let out a cry of pain and flailed in attempt to get free of the larger Pokemon's grip.

Mike noticed that his Pokemon's movements only served to widen the wounds from the bite. "Napalm, don't struggle, that will only make it hurt more!" He shouted, his mind was racing as he tried to think of what to do next. The opposing Pokemon had Napalm in a lock. Perhaps he could blast him off? "Use your Overheat, get him away from you!"

The pain shooting up his arm was intense, but the Magby trusted his trainer's insight enough to stop thrashing about. After a deep breath Napalm grabbed onto the Mightyena's jaw with his other arm and began to charge up the strongest move he had. His body began to become covered in flames, the air nearest to the Pokemon rippling intensely. With a loud shriek, Napalm pointed his beak at the Mightyena and fired. At point blank range, the Overheat caused an explosion, the wolf-like Pokemon yelp ping in pain, releasing Live Coal Pokemon from its grip. Napalm shuddered following the attack, his body lowering in temperature slightly. That attack always drained a lot of power from him.

Mike took note of the Mightyena's condition. It looked like it was hurting, but that only seemed to make it angrier. It let loose a loud howl that made the boy's arm hair stand on end and shot a chill up his spine. The Pokemon glowed faintly following the move, signifying a raised ability; but what one? Mike was not about to sit and twiddle his thumbs just to find out. They were in a sore spot. Sure, Napalm could hit hard with another Overheat, but by then all of his moves would become so low powered that Napalm wouldn't be able to score any type of effective damage for the rest of the fight. Not to mention all of his other moves aside from Smog wouldn't affect a Dark type much. "It's settled, I'm getting him a new move after this fight. I'm finally going shopping." As for the battle, it seemed like he would have to stick to basics until he was sure he only needed one more solid hit. Mike called out for an Ember attack on the Mightyena.

Napalm took another short but forceful breath, the pain in his arm still stung whenever he flexed his arm. He locked eyes with his target, who bared its teeth in retaliation. Breathing in deep, the Magby launched a shotgun spread of small fireballs that traveled straight for the Mightyena.

Crenu Sighed as he waited in the Poke Center of Goldenrod. Ky was taking an aweful long time, but as Crenu began to grow irritated he remembered that Ky was on foot. Not only that, Ky was younger and smaller that he was, though not by much, and so his legs would only cover so much ground. It wasn't like he waws M.A. or anything. "Heh, with her legs she'd have been here by now... I wonder where she might have run off to?" A little confused as to why exactly he was thinking of M.A. so suddenly, he quickly changed the subject in his mind as he got up and walked to the counter. He was too bored and training had to be done. He would simply have to meet up with the others at the festival. "Listen Nurse, I can't take it any more. Give me my pokemon so I can go do some training."

"Absolutely not, I told you our pokemon still need to rest! I will not allow you to endanger your pokemon's well being simply because you are bored." Crossing her arms firmly, Nurse Joy stared at Crenu growing quite cross.

One look at her glare let him know that it was no use. "Alright, I won't bother them. But I am going to leave now, so I'll be needing my pokemon. I promise that I won't battle 'em till morning so they will get their rest."

"Well...alright. If you say you won't then I have to take your word for it. But aren't you waiting for a friend of yours, that young man you mentioned earlier, is he not who you were waiting for?" She said curiously with a worried tone as she placed the tray with Crenu's pokeballs on the ocunter.

Clipping each ball onto his belt, he simply grinned. "Yeah, but I got bored. Besides, I have another friend and I know she's out there getting stronger than me, and I simply can't have that. So when that kid with the brown hair and a Natu comes round asking for me, tell him I've been and gone and to not worry. Tell him that I've got some business that I need to take care of and that I'll see the little squirt at the Beach Party. Make sure you don't leave out the 'little squirt', that part is very important." Having gather all his pokemon he threw his coat over his shoulders and secured it with some wire that he fashioned into hooks on his spare time to keep it from falling off even when he was on his bike. "Oh and..ah..I'm sorry I guess... yeah." He gave a half smile and calmly made his way out of the center. It was some time for some seriouse training, and there was only one place close by that had what he was looking for. "Mt. Mortar."

"Alright, Bessy!" Sammy laughed, "Take tha hit and unleash yer energy at point blank range!" The man made his fingers into a gun shape and shot a few times into the air, laughing. The Miltank prepared herself and took the Crunch right on, feeling her opponent's teeth sink into her bulky arm, causing a huge deal of damage. With a low moo, she placed her hand on Flygon's nose.

"Get out of there!" Kilik snapped, but he knew it wouldn't work. She was just way too close. Before she could even blink, Bahamut was on her way into the air, spiraling out of control. The dragon flared her wings open in an attempt to slow herself down. It worked to a degree and she finally managed to stop before hitting a flock of passing Swellow. She looked down at Kilik and smiled. Bahamut had it in the bag. The trainer clenched his fist and let out a light 'Yeah!' under his breath then stared at Samuel. "Alright, cowboy. Try this on for size!" he opened his palm and looked at Miltank, "Dragon Claw, Bahamut!"

"Yeee-haw!" he laughed, kicking his heels together, "It's been too long since I've had me one of these here battles! Ya'know the gooduns that get yer heart pumpin'!" With an adjustment to his Seviper belt, he clenched his fist. "Ready, Bessy? Go with a Rollout!" Her moo echoed through the land as she curled up tightly and began to spin into the ground, gaining enough speed before 'kicking' off in a way to send her body up into the air to meet Flygon on the way down.

Bahamut had initiated her attack, her claws glowing with a dark blue and red hue. She squealed with a rising inflection before her attack connected with the spinning Miltank. Her hands opened and she held onto Bessy as if she were a rotating ball. It took her a moment before she let go and slashed upwards: the direction opposite of Miltank's rotation. "That's the way!" Kilik called up from below.

Miltank crashed into ground, sprawled out like a rug. Her eyes were closed and her ears drooped. "Well TAR-nation!" the man laughed, recalling his cow, "I cert...certai...really didn't expect that! Let's see whatcha got against my Ross!" With a flick of his wrist, another ball was thrown and from it emerged the massive bull Pokemon Tauros.

Kilik raised an eyebrow. He'd yet to see a Tauros before. Taking out his PokeDex, he analyzed it. A male's mechanized voice was heard saying: "Tauros: the Wild Bull Pokemon. Tauros are rowdy Pokemon, once they've started a rampage they will not stop until they hit something. They live and travel in herds with the herd's protector probably leading the others. Tauros are also known to lock horns with each other in battle and they usually take pride in their battle-scarred horns." Kilik tucked the device away and gulped. This was one rodeo he wasn't ready for.

Now Mt. Mortar wasn't really all that close. Crenu still had to travel across routs 35, 36, 37, and part of 42 before getting there. On the way he would have to stop at the National Park and at Ecruteak, but in comparison to all the ground he had covered to get to this point it was relatively close. As Crenu peddled through the back roads of the busy city to avoid traffic he drowned out the angry screams of the woman whos roses he just crushed with thoughts of his destination. Mt. Mortar was tough, littered with rocks and boulders it was a place where many went to train in hopes of toughening up their pokemon in the deep dark cave. His father had told him that he could find martial artists and fighting pokemon trainers in the mountain breaking stones and doing strength training. "Heh, wonder if I'll meet Chuck in there." Crenu laughed a little at the highly unlikely situation and peddled on. It was getting quite dark now as he crossed the city line into rout 35. Looking forward at the path laid before him he sighed. "If I'm gonna make it there in time for some good training before the festival, I can't afford to stop untill I'm at least as far as the National Park." With that he turned away from the coty and peddled hard into the night.

It didn't take long for the door to open. When it did Ampersand couldn't help the small grin that appeared on his face. "Wow there missy! No need to be so hostile to me." He eyed the woman for a moment, she was pretty in a sort of no nonsense kind of way, to the side of her he saw the Typhlosion in a snoring heap to her side. Tipping his hat forward and grinning again he made a quick move side stepping her and getting inside easily. Backing up slightly the only blue eye visible to her watched her with amusement. "I just came to talk to your boss is all. He wouldn't happen to be here would he? That would be a big help." All in all despite the fact that he was now in the Rocket secret or not so secret base he seemed to be completely at ease. "I hope your power generators are not run by pokemon here. That would be a mistake to keep that practice up. What since those kids keep destroying them." That and the fact that his aura would cause a power outage in whatever area they were in if they were run by pokemon.

"You and your Pokemon did pretty good, considering they're all sore," Michael said conversationally (M.A. was on his back again).

"Yeah, though we only won so quickly 'cause that girl was ... well, yeah," M.A. replied. It was hard to explain that lavender beauty. She was a strange kind of stupid.

"Mm... Even so, you could tell she didn't take the time to train her Pokemon as she should," Michael said. "There will be much tougher trainers out there that will challenge you, though, including those Gym Leaders."

"No doubt," M.A. nodded, a tiny tremor of nervous energy snaking its way down her spine. Not fear, but nervous anticipation. "Say, Michael, that reminds me... What are TMs?"

"Technical Machines... What, you've never seen one? They teach your Pokemon moves they don't naturally learn. Pretty nifty sometimes." The older man feel silent for a moment, and M.A. could tell from his faraway gaze that he was thinking about something.

"What?"

"Oh, nothing," he grinned.

They arrived at Slateport shortly and left their Pokemon to rest at the PokeCenter before getting back to the hospital. As expected, their mother was already there and she pouted when they came in. However, to M.A.'s surprise, she didn't throw in the usual "Where have you been?" lecture that the girl usually got when she wandered away from home and came back to that face. Maybe the woman was starting to get accustomed to the fact that M.A. could take care of herself now.

Their father was out of bed now, and excepting the bandages around his head, his broken arm, and a headache, he seemed perfectly fine. What a recovery, M.A. thought, smiling. Count on her father to bedazzle hospitals.

"So, what would you all like to do for the remainder of the afternoon?"

It was aparant that Miharu had the upper hand by now, as her Pokemon seemed to be slightly more experienced. On the small girl's command, Starrie shot through the air like a throwing star, slamming into the Meowth and finally bringing it down. Aska was able to take her opponent out as well, delivering a well-timed Aerial Ace to the Raticate. With both opposing Pokemon now down for the count, Miharu smiled, crossing her arms as Megan recalled her two Pokemon.

"You're some kind of tough," she said, backing away from the green-haired girl somewhat timidly. "Whitney is gonna have her hands full with you..." she threw one last glance over her shoulder before she retreated from sight, and Miharu was left with a sense of satisfaction over her two victories so far. Either way, only Tingle and Lily were still at full strength, and Miharu didn't like the idea of going on without the rest of her party at their best. She made a hasty retreat from the gym. quickly pulling out her bike and riding back to the Pokemon Center. Her crew was quickly tended too and she headed back outside, and was busy unlocking her bike as a young man, probably about her age walked up to her.

"You just came from the gym, right?" he asked, watching as she climbed onto her bike. Miharu just eyed him for a moment and nodded. "Well, seems to me like you ran out with your tail between your legs," he chuckled. "Which means that a half-pint like you would be no match for me!"

"Wanna bet?" Miharu said grumpily, a bit surprised at her own response. She was tired of all these slack-jawed idiots thinking that just because she was so small she wasn't a threat. "Have you defeated Whitney?"

"Uh, well, not yet," he started, but Miharu cut him off sharply.

"You, me, battle. Now," she practically barked, quickly locking her bike up again and grabbing the boy by the collar of his shirt. There was a free area near the Pokemon Center, and as the two squared off, Miharu couldn't help but think that the residents of Goldenrod City were in for a show tonight.
