my band director likes to pretend to kill puppies when wee repeat the same mistakes after we just perfected them. She especialy likes to mess with the percussion and Bass Clarinetist by leaving a platic fork in her office so they flip eveytime they come out.
and she says blowing into an oboe is like blowing into a rock. and her bd when she was in band was showing them by making them blow up a water baloon and he couldn't and he passed out.

On my first one, (a soprano G), it fell on the floor. On the tile. The high notes will never be the same... (busted mouthpiece). On my second, I kept pressing my teeth against the mouth piece, so now there's a dent in it. On my last, I played it with fake vampire fangs in, and the mouth piece is chipped.
Nathan has all kinds of scratches, because he doesn't have the finish that most guitars do. When I first got him, I was clumsy and the pick kept dragging along the body, scratching the board. I'm also clumsy, and can't remember how many times I've knocked it aginst something.

good chamber transition (there are two chambers on Sven, so you move the mouth piece right or left depending on which chamber you want)

Both really. I am super geeky and part of that is my love of band!

Oboe: Technically about 10 to 15 minutes because I have to soak my reed. The rest of it goes together in about a minute or two.
Marimba: However long it takes to get it out of the drum closet, around the band room, and up the steps.
Guard: Forever because the n00bs don't help because they aren't good little n00bs and anyone who's done it for more than a year doesn't do it because they have senioritis even though some of them are freshies.

Indifferent for the most part. I was close to the saxes closer to my age, but now that I'm in the top band, I'm surrounded by upperclassmen who really don't give a damn about me. Um, I've counted before and I got to about sixty... There's all those scratches it got from being kicked several feet across the parking lot practice field... Um, that messed up first valve slide that flew off during a run through... I could go on for hours.

I was told by several people this last season that they've never seen somebody excel and mature so fast in a year. I matured by several seasons in less that a year. And, my section leader told me I knew my part better then kids in the high school. And my BD in middle school told me I have a good ear. Because nomater what I did with my tuning slide did nothing, I had to adjust my lips to change my tuning.

24. Are you really a geek and in band, or do you just love band so much that your a band geek? There is a difference you know.
I'm a bit of both.
25. How long does it take you to set up your instrument?
about a minute. I use tuning to get the head joint to the right position
26. Do you practice, or are you talented enough were you don't have to? or are you just lazy and have no talent so your like last chair?
It depends. If I have something to practice, I will. Our Director shasn't even picked the music yet for next semester.
27. Do you Friends in band or band friends, or are you just a loner?
Friends! I share my locker with a sax and another flute and it's completely tricked out with a pet rock box and swinging mirror. We replaced the carpet with duct tape. Then their boyfriends: a trumpet and a clarinet. My flute friend used to date the trumpet section leader. We're cool with the Tubas, and the Parade Drum Major is gonna teach me how to spin (baton).
28.Have you ever got pranked in band?
I don't think so.
29. Concert/Marching Band attire?
Regiment wear and khakis. Then the full uniform, blue and white with a gold sash. The grips on my gloves are falling off. :/

I don't need one, I use baby oil when my head joint get stuck. So I cna say Johnson's....

Me, I've awarded myself Most Likely To Die In A Marching Incident. But this guy who's a Horn fell when marching backwards (because he wasn't using the right technique)
