Ravenfang heard the yowl and padded excitedly over to her leader. ((What DO Riverclan use for their 'Highrock?')) She was excited for Moonkit mostly, but she was hoping that she was made her mentor.

Moonkit stopped dead in her tracks. A meeting? She wondered, and that's when it hit her. I've been waiting so long! Finally, I can be an apprentice! She thought excitedly, racing towards where the clan was now gathering. Although she didn't know if she was right, she had a pretty good feeling about it. She walked to a spot near the front of the group of cats, a broad smile on her face. After a moment, she wiped the smile away so no one would know how happy she was, but inside she was beaming beyond belief. Does anyone else know about the ceremony? She wondered, sitting quietly.
ooc:// I think Riverclan uses a mound that's higher than the rest of camp, or something like that. neutral Yayz! I'm so happy for Moonkit! biggrin //

Airpaw sat up in his nest. Why does there have to be a ceremony when I'm half asleep? He thought getting up and padding out of the den.

Icetail trudged out of the warriors den, groggy after having been woken up from his dream. I had almost caught it, too... He thought, thinking about the plump vole that he had invisioned in his dreams. Padding silently over to the group, he had no earthly idea what the meeting could possibly be about. Whatever it was, he hoped it went fast. Maybe that way, the vole wouldn't be gone.

Dampfoot groaned in protest, slowly levering herself up onto her paws at the most leisurely of paces.
She cracked her eyes open and released a yawn that billowed up in front of her.
If there was one thing Dampfoot hated most, it was being woken up or interrupted.
She blinked groggily and dragged herself out of the den.
Finding a spot in front of her leader, Dampfoot dumped her heavy carcass on the ground and stared up blearily at Torrentstar as she waited for him to speak.

Mooneye heard the familiar yowling and got up immediately to get a good dry spot. She usually didn't care where she was seated. She could hear better than most cats sitting up front even at the edge of camp... but she didn't fancy sitting in cold snow after being shaken from sleep in her warm moss and reed bed.
Silvertail saw that Moonkit had taken a seat at the front of the gathered cats. And any fool could see that this meeting was obviously for Moonkit's naming ceremony. Traditionally the mother of the kit sat beside them for their ceremony. Silvertail dropped her eyes to her paws wondering if she should go sit beside Moonkit. And then looked up with new determination in her eyes. Of course she would. Her kit was to become an apprentice tonight and she would be right by her to see her off. She got to her paws and looked at Rainfur before she pushed by the other cats in front of her between her and Moonkit to take her place. "Thank you." she mewed and gave him an affectionate lick on the ear. Then she moved to the front and took her seat beside her kit proudly. She didn't say anything but she looked down at Moonkit with eyes full of pride and love.
Lastly Pebblefoot stumbled through the snow towards the gathering spot and took a seat beside Owleye to wait for Torrentstar to speak in the light of Starclan.

"I'm sorry that I have called a meeting so late. I see I have called most of you out of your beds." He looked into the sleepy eyes of every cat in Riverclan and was thankful. "But there are some important things that must be done before Moonhigh." His eyes gained an important twinkle. "Cats of Riverclan, we have had no Deputy or Medicine cat for a long time now...Dampfoot will you please come forward." He paused and waited.
"I say these words before Starclan so that they may hear and approve my choice. Dampfoot, you may be young but you are loyal and brave and I have total trust and faith in you. You will be the new Deputy of Riverclan."

Ravenfang yowled in approval for the new Deputy. She nervously looked at Torrentstar to see what he had to say next.

Dampfoot's heart thundered in her chest at the mention of her name.
Her eyes widened and pride swelled in her chest as she stood and paced forward to stand beside Torrentstar.
She faced him for a few moments before smiling broadly and giving a respectful nod.
"Thank you." She breathed, seating herself quietly, her head spinning whilst she gazed down on the cats of Riverclan.

Airpaw nodded his approval, he was to tired to chant. Torrentstar's right, we have needed a deputy and medicine cat for a while. He thought.

Rainfur felt his body heat rise as embarassment flooded over him. It took him by surprise when Silvertail did that, but he quickly joined in chanting Dampfoot's name as she was proudly named deputy.

Moonkit looked up at her mother, a twinkle in her eye, all the while chanting Dampfoot's name in approval. How could she be mad at Silvertail? She was only, after all, trying to look after her. Moonkit looked back, still chanting, and tried to locate Pebblefoot. Surely with Pebblefoot always having been the unofficial medicine cat, she would now be appointed officially.

Torrentstar joined in chanting Dampfoot's name proudly for a few moments and then began again. "And like I said we also need a medicine cat... Pebblefoot will you please come forward."
She stepped through the throng of cats that stared back at her as she made her way to the front to sit in front of Torrentstar.
Torrentstar looked at Pebblefoot and began speaking again. "Pebblefoot for a while now, you've been the closest thing Riverclan has had to an actual medicine cat. I think it's time you took on the official role as such. There are obviously no words to make you medicine cat that I can speak, only Starclan can do that. At half moon you will travel to the Moonstone and receive your medicine cat powers."
Pebblefoot gazed up at Starclan. What an honor. She looked back at Torrentstar to say something, thankyou or I accept. But all she could do was nod. But she thought that covered it.
