I got all mixed up after that Gaia incident a coupel years ago, when Gino got laser'd. Was Gino dead? Was Gambino alive? It was pretty crazy.

Wait, aren't you talking about when he was merged with his father (or was it someone else)? He was the Mysterious Masked Man during the Christmas Event of a few years back, wasn't he? Then he and his father (or the other person) somehow separated from each other and he's back to being the cute and adorable, Gino! blaugh He still has a big crush on Sasha, which I abhor, by the way.
