Tinuviel nodded and sighed. "Well, if Nana can't take care of him," she said softly, "I'll have a go at it. He usually listens to me, even when he doesn't listen to Nana."
Earendil rolled his eyes. "You make it sound as if you have no idea why that might be," he commented dryly.

Lin munched on some of her food as she watched the two, she found it interesting. She didn't think she could get her Daddy to listen to her.
"Well I don't know why that might be," she replied to Earendil.

Lore chuckled lightly while trying to keep quiet, he was sure that Ruel would not apperiacate that kind of comment from Celebor. However, it would be difficult to explain to Celebor otherwise exactly the kind of thing that adults cared about so much, that most children, especially children like Celebor were unaware of.
"I suppose that is as good of an answer as any," he replied.

Celebor smiled at Lore, glad that he wasn't going to be getting into any trouble, then relaxed and started eating his dinner.
"Do you think maybe I should talk to him, then?" he asked Lore hopefully. "Maybe I can make him not so grumpy! Maybe he'll stop saying bad things about Mommy, right? What do you think?"

Tinuviel smiled down at Lin. "Ada thinks there's something extra special about me because I might one day be Queen," she told the tiny child softly. "And because of that, he thinks he's a bit special as well. He thinks he can do whatever he wants to and that it doesn't matter. Nana, I think, is probably trying to tell him that right now, but he sometimes doesn't listen, even though he loves her so much. On the other hand, there's a chance he just might listen to me, because he thinks I'm so special."
It was the only time where she actually appreciated her position.

Lore coughed, he didn't think that was such a good idea. He, from personal expeirence knew that if people were pig headed enough they wouldn't care. The last thing he wanted was for Celebor to get into another fight with Rule.
"Ah... perhaps not so," Lore murmured, "Perhaps you should just leave him be. It is his lost if he wishes to continue to be a grump."

Lin looked thoughtful, she hadn't really heard of Queens only that they led things like the way a clanleader would or the way the master of a school would. She tilted her head and thought... and thought... and for the life of her couldn't connect it to her every day life because it made no sense to her.
"But... someday you'll be Queen," she replied, "But he's not going to be Queen, why does you being Queen make him a bit special?"

Celebor was disappointed. "But isn't it good if I can make him nice?" he asked, confused. "Then I don't have to beat him up anymore!"
He lowered his eyes and mumbled, "'Sides, I wanna see more the work he does. It's hot down there but it's really neat."

Tinuviel smiled. Ah, the innocence. "He isn't special at all, really, he just thinks he is. Someday he'll learn, but for now ..." And she gave a most un-princess-like shrug.
"Rue the day," Earendil said grimly.

"It is, but.... well you're might be more likely to get into more fights with him than to make him less grumpy. It is hard to change people's minds, sometimes the best way to avoid a fight is to avoid a person...." Lore paused, "What type of work is it that he does?"

Lin mused on this as she ate more, and then seh blinked thinking that Earendil, even though he sounded so serious, made a really bad pun.
"Until then he'll just have to get use to everyone, starting with me."
She was more firm about this now, he would learn to put up with different people, and what better than a little girl who was the daughter of a human and angel.

Celebor grinned widely. "He worked with a huge fire but I don't know what it is in English, and he makes swords and stuff! He said maybe he would make one for me someday ..."
He trailed off and blinked. "Prolly not now, right?"

Earendil chuckled a bit and ruffled Lin's hair affectionately. "Well then," he grinned, "you're going to have to learn our language. Why don't we go see Sir Valdemar again after dinner and see if he might be able to help teach you?"
He was a student after all, not a teacher.
"And don't hit him," Tinuviel added, though her eyes were also sparkling.

"Probably not...." Lore replied, "But perhaps it's better to get a sword from someone who likes your Mommy? It means more since swords are used to protect people."
In a sense, though Lore knew swords were meant for many other things.

"Now why would I hit him?" Lin inquired innocnetly in a way that would mkae Donovna proud, "If I didn't really like him, hitting him would do no good, I can't reach.'
She smiled sweetly before she cointinued eating.
