((Destruction of the annoying neko! scream ))

Ari looked over at Chase and frowned. Oh well. Sleep was need at the moment, and he could not pass up the chance to sleep! But, something in the back of his head kept him awake. It was the feeling that they would be captured. Maybe he was just overly worried. There was no way they would get nabbed up and thrown back into the cages. The neko returned to his own warmth, trying not to scoot closer to the other.

(( *gasp* Why? eek ))

Chase unconsciously shifted closer to the warmth Ari was giving. He buried his nose into his elbow then continued sleeping.
He awoke wth a large yawn, the first thing he did was sit up, then he stretched. Sitting up was no problem, but the stretching made him groan and wince.
"Ah! Ouw. Ouw. . ."
The muscles in his side were pretty much in the process of fixing themselves, but Chase acting the way he normally did wasn't helping in the least. The boy took one look at Ari and distanced himself, scrambling backwards until his head hit a swing and he fell into the sand. He blinked, shaking his head, then raised himself to his eblows to look at what he hit.
"Damn! What the heck?"
Behind the swing, about seven meters away was a girl with her hair drawn up in cute little pigtails. She took one look at the neko's ears, not Chase, and screamed; appearantly Chase didn't look that scary at the moment.

((.O_O. I dunno... *cries and runs around*))

Ari woke up with a start when the human began to whine about his injuries. The neko's eyes widened as he backed away and tilted his head to the side. That was not nearly as frightening as hearing the little girl scream and run off. Tears welled up in the neko's eyes as he watched the girl run away. It was sad to know that children were afraid of him. Ari was always someone who loved being around children because they were full of imagination and usually held no hate for things around them. Maybe they were getting taught the younger they were to hate and fear things with ears on top of their heads and tails coming from their rear ends. Ari brought his knees to his chest and buried his face into his knees, silently crying. All he wanted was to be normal, but if even a child hated him for what he was, then what was the point? There had to be nekos out there somewhere. And, Chase did not fear the neko, right? Ari looked up, frowning, as he sniffled. "Ari scary?" he asked. "Ari freak..."

(( o.O Okay. *dances* I'll help you! *puts slippery glossy stuff on the floor* ))

Chase was rubbing his head carefully, leaning against the support bar in the sand. Not the best way to get comfortable. He was glaring after the kid until he heard Ari sniffle, then his eyes turned towards the neko. He didn't look too enthused to be asked that question, and he regarded the neko with a blank expression before looking away.
"Yeah, pro'bly as much as me. I dunno. Grew up with cats."
Lovely advice he was giving! The grey haired boy raised his hand to his shirt and brushed off his palm before licking it, then trying to remove some dried blood from his scabbed forearms. The scabs making his markings look like a jumble of tattoos. He frowned the coughed out a disapproving sound towards the direction of the street.
Cars could be heard as well as people talking loudly, then to his dismay the litle girl rounded the corner shielded by her mother. The woman took one look at the two on the playset and her eyes narrowed then scanned the surroundings. Chase gave a barking laugh and restlessly shifted to lok at the other side.
"HA! They think they do what they want. . . Just wait. . . " He said quietly, his sand-free hand now on his side.

Ari looked at the other in surprise. Oh well, something like that was to be expected from Chase, right? The neko's tail twitched as he crossed his arms and looked around. It felt bad to be screamed at by a small child. He had never had a young child fear him before. Yeah, usually they were throwing things at him or laughing at him. Those were things Ari could handle easily, but not having someone fear him. That made him feel strange. And then Chase was rather...Blunt in his words. But, of course, he grew up with cats, so he did not know how different Ari must have looked through another person's eyes. The neko saw the child and her mother coming, and the fur on his tail fluffed out. Something bad was going to happen, right? She had come to see what the matter was. They were escaped slaves. The woman would alert someone. Both Chase and Ari would be sent back to the cages. Then they would have to start all over again. The neko looked at the human and frowned.

Chase was gazing over at the buildings on the opposite side of the road. There were few people there, not even enough worth trying to get a ise out of yet.
The woman petted her daughter's hair, saying something that Chase didn't bother to try to catch before she spun around and whipped out her cell phone before disappearing, the little girl taking one last frightened glance at the two cat humans.
Chase snorted dismissively then shok his head and slwly pushed himself to his feet. Anyone - or any slave- with enough brains would know what was coming next. Ari of course knew; the neko looked like he had done some escaing in the past. He glanced at Ari pointedly, seeing the neko's bottle-bush tail, and rolled his eyes the sighed. Time to hide already. Hasn't been two days even. The boy gave a crooked smirk then grimaced as he tried to take a running step towards the trees.
"Itai. . ." He groaned, then took a deep breath and rubbed his face with his hands. If this was going to work, he was going to have to ignore his pains. And that meant no more distractions of the past as well.
"Hide. They come."

Ari sat there, glancing around as he figured that woman would call controls or something. But, he refused to hide. It might actually be his first time being trully free, and he did not want to give up that chance. He looked at Chase and huffed, standing up and brushing himself off before walking over to the other and glaring at him. "Ari no hide...Almost free," he said, pointing to the towering trees outside the city. Really, they were not far. If they were both able to run fast enough, they could possibly have gotten out there in a matter of ten to twenty minutes. But, Chase was still hurt. Maybe it would have been better to hide. He looked around and huffed loudly. Very little people were out and about at this early hour. Maybe, if they were lucky enough, they could jog some, walk, and then jog again. Just doing that would get them out of the city. Of course, it would take longer than twenty minutes, but half an hour was good enough, right? The neko glanced at Chase again. "Chase okay to go on?" he asked.

Chase narrowed his eyes. Didn't Ari know anything? The captors wanted a chase, they wanted them to run so that they could catch them again. The boy wasn't about to do that. He shook his head, returning the neko's glare.
"Go to shop. Hat and big shirt."
He meant they could disguse themselves to make it easier, but Ari was already off. He rolled his eyes, trotting after him with wary steps. He was quite sure that the nets and sleeping darts would be following them in a while, but he kept quiet. The only reason he was following the neko is because he was curious as to what he would do when found out by the men. Although he wasn't too pleased when he was out of breath and biting halfway through his lip to stop himself from stopping and pounding holes into the ground, fifteen minutes later.
He spun on his heels and stopped, showing the neko that he would not go any further if it meant having to move so quickly. He could see the beginnings of an urban town someways off, but he still had no intension of rushing off anywhere.
"Hungry," He complained with a preditoral glare scanning the sparce buildings around him. He pulled at his tight pink top, wondering why it felt like a second skin at that point in time. He snarled at a motorcycle as it sped by, then sat on the curb. "Hot too."

Ari huffed and stopped to keep close to the other. Maybe they should have disguised themselves. But, nekos were quite easy to pick out. They had slitted eyes, thin frames, male or female, tails and cat ears. Anyone would be able to pick him out even if they had dressed up differently. And, he was not about to start wearing sunglasses. He hated anything on his face. The neko looked at Chase and sighed. "Hungry and hot? Ari can't help," he muttered. He did not know where any food was. Looking around the area, Ari's eyes caught something. There was a rat, but he was sure it was full of some disease. He would rather risk getting caught again rather than eat something and then die anyway. At least going back to the cages meant he would survive. That was, unless they decided to put him to sleep like with domestic cats...Then there would be no more escape and no sunlight. He crossed his arms and shook his head. "Stuck," he said quietly, thinking aloud.

Chase scowled. Ari wasn't being very helpful, albeit he just said he couldn't help. The boy stared at the other until he turned his head to the side and stared down the street two minues later. The sun was starting to get hgh in the sky and he couldn't feel much more than a dull throb in his bones. The boy stood with a sigh and headed down the street without a word. Something looked like food down there and he was going to investigate.
The noise around him was comforting. It wasn't grunting and hissing like back in the cages, but a drone of life and talk, vehicles and animals all around. He was almost not jittery and geting to be comfortable with this light and new experience. He as halfways down the street when he looked back for Ari, muttering, "Food. Not stuck."

Ari watched the other walk. Where was he going? The neko got up and scurried after Chase, tripping on a rock while following him. He shook his head and huffed, wiping dirt off his face and body as he stood up and hurried after the other again. Once he caught up, he looked at Chase in confusion. What was he talking about? Where was there food? Ari growled and crossed his arms. He wanted to get to the wild and see how it was out there. He wanted to get away from the cars and people. Oh well, all in good time, right?

Chase looked away from Ari as the neko began towards him and back to the shops, open and waiting for customers. He couldn't smell aything, but he could see something that looked similar to an orange on a sign outside a shop.
"No rush. . . "
The boy started to walk towards the sign, his eyes narrowed but hopeful. He scatched at his head with a small smirk as a teen pased by staring. At what he didn't know. It just looked so pleasant to him, almost making him want to laugh. Food. There was a wiff of it! Right from the direction of the sign! He began to pick up his pace. If he could not pay, it met he would have to take and run. And if Ari woul not comply then there would be little chance of escape.
"Take. Run," He said shortly he twisted round to face the neko and walk backwards at the same time.

Ari followed quickly after Chase, keeping up with him. He did not know what the other was doing or if it was safe, but he had to trust his gut feeling. That gut feeling told him that he had to trust Chase, no matter how much trouble it got them in. The neko shivered as he heard the other's words. Take and run? Did he mean stealing? Ari wanted to protest, but he needed food, and they would have to work together to get enough food to feed themselves. He nodded and walked beside the other, glancing over at him and then the rest of the area. "Okay...No caught, right?" he asked quietly.
PostPosted: Thu Feb 21, 2008 8:09 pm

"Course."
Chase nodded stiffly. He turned back around and eyed the shop as they got closer. There were people sitting down at tables outside. He tilted his head, now knowing what they were doing sitting there when the food smell was coming from inside, but then a teen came out with a tray holding food! The boy straightened up at once, then glanced excitedly at Ari. Maybe they didn't have to take and run! Maybe they could just sit down and eat peacefully!
There was a small bouce in his stride now, and he slipped into the fenced off area as the teen went back into the building.
"Sit here and get food?" He muttered to Ari questioningly.
They still had their collars on, but Chase could pass off for a punk easily. It was his speech that gave everything away. But the cheetah boy wasn't thinking of that. His stomach growled and he threw himself expectantly into a chair at a table, not waiting for Ari's reply.
He thought that the teen would come back out if he sat down.

Ari sat down after Chase and looked around nervously. There were people all around. Sure, Chase was more human looking than Ari, but he still had habits and speech of a wild boy, a slave. The neko huffed and glanced at the few people who were watching the cat ears and tail carefully. Ari was in no way safe from these people. They could tell right off what he was. A no good feline slave who had managed escape and was now 'sauntering' around. Hah! The neko could not walk around so calmly. There were multiple chances for him to be taken back to the cages. His tail began to tremble, but barely, at the thought of going back to the cages, the slave halls. Could Chase even go on like he was? Oh well. Maybe if Ari followed the other's lead, then maybe he would be able to get trully free. The neko looked at the other and tilted his head to the side. "Food...Yes..." He paused and fiddled with his thumbs. "Chase...Comfortable here?" he asked.
