Spider_Jerusalem Jonah Hex Well, iff'n yuh run intah yore own corpse, logic would say that sooner or later, shore, you're gonna end up backwards in time, otherwise you wouldn'ta run intah yore dead body in thuh FIRST place. Ah really hate time travel. You'd hate it about twice as much as you do now if you read The Invisibles. I love that comic, but the time travel... gonk It's easier once you get that there isn't really any time travel going on because there isn't really any 'time'...but it still gets horribly confusing in the second half of volume 2 (The Chris Weston issues) where the characters are time travelling and the narrative is doing flashbacks and flashforwards over a period of about three months. The only way to follow the plot at all between Only Lovers Left Alive and The Tower is to either pay very close attention to the dates and draw yourself a little timeline, or just to keep an eye on which wig Fanny is wearing. The very a**l part of me that dreams of one day editing together all the Lost flashbacks into chronological order has to be restrained from taking a scissors and some glue to those issues.

I just finished volume two and I'm taking a break with a spot of Promethea, Catwoman, and Global Frequency. Thank the Lord for the local library. Now I'm probably saying the bleeding obvious here, but Mad Tom is Tom O'Bedlam, right question

Tippy-Toe Says : Sounds an excellent library. Nobody working there with a name-tag that says 'Salamay' by any chance?

Having 6 older sisters if fun...until all of them are married and your folks are looking in your direction... stare
Laura and I stand proud to just be dating and not folding into the pressure of our folks to get married to our significant other!

Nobody working there with a name-tag that says 'Salamay' by any chance? Hah, well I suppose that's one bit that I didn't remember although that part was full of deja vu, with Tom and Dane on the bench and the recounting of the disappearance of John a Dreams and all that. I had my suspicions because he would be around the same age as Edie and when she said that he died the best magician of his species, that pretty much sealed it. xd
I haven't seen any Salamays yet, but this is apparently a very recent development as the collection consists of a cart of books up at the front, not even a shelf yet. The teen comics get their own shelf though. It's odd to me that Catwoman and Promethea are put under adult while The Sandman is considered teen. Oh well.

The school library is a cess pit, from which books enter but never return. They have stacks and STACKS in the back that aren't catalogued. I and my associates who have been donating to expand the meager comic and anime sections into something respectable were recently contacted. "Would you mind taking this stuff back? We just don't have time to catalogue and shelf it." I could not believe it, I was stunned. Having prior library experience, I offered my volunteer services during the summer to help them with this problem, free of charge and with my bountiful supply of tea. I had a similar job in a middle school and got several hundred books onto the shelves in a matter of a few weekends with only one person to help me. And they turn me down. "No, we just want you to take the books back." And if we don't, they throw them away. But this doesn't stop them from sticking the graphic design books on the stacks, those are corperate donations. Art is hell.
