Wally_West Lucky you...I still don't know the outcome of the Infantino vs. DC lawsuit. I SO have to get started on that info-gathering legal battles thread....I know we will end up having just a wealth of information to share. I'm thinking, sometime before I do my " Grant Revoked" week of abstaining from my scary obsession, of posting a big ramble about Flex Mentallo just because I increasingly think everyone ought to have bittorrented his mini in order to understand what's at stake in superhero comics right now. That'll have much legal battling in it. And oddly enough, reading the court judgement in that case gave me a bit of a taste for seeing lawyers argue over odd things like the Lone Ranger's relation to Green Hornet, and I've found the Gaiman/McFarlane ruck fascinating too.

Yeah, Cel/Barb sorta collects stories about the legal battles in comics, and I've run into a few recently that are at the very least enlightening about how comics are viewed by the legal system. So I thought we could make a thread in Kapow! sort of gathering links and summaries of legal battles, especially the ones that are asked about often in CD. Then we could present to CD a thread with all of this information for discussion and reference.

That'd be a great idea. Although hopefully it won't open up the whole "Crap Gay Batman Art" debate again, as nowadays I just get scared when I find myself on opposite sides of a debate to Celaeno.

I have too many essays on the go as it is, so I'm incredibly glad that I can hand Flex over to your more than capable hands. It seems to me that Promethea is shaping up to be Alan Moore's responce to Flex Mentallo with what is almost certainly an accidental appearance of a Darkstalkers character that sent me into giggles. What's terribly ironic about Promethea is that much like Flex, Brad Meltzer (or is it Judd Winnick this time?) appears as a background villain in the form of a giant gorilla, which we've sort of taken on as the avatar of siliness around here.

Aww, don't be. She likes yuh just fine. Just a spirited debater. Uh, usually. That Carey thing were strange.

Jonah Hex Aww, don't be. She likes yuh just fine. Just a spirited debater. Uh, usually. That Carey thing were strange. One day I'll feel I have the time and confidence to have another shot at debating with her...but annoyingly I seem to agree with almost everything she ever says. I'm almost desperate to enjoy the Catwoman/Zatanna storyline regardless of whether or not it's any good just so we can have something meaningful to argue about. (She's Jackie Estacado, right?)

Yup. Truth, I don't agree with her on that point, but all of our discussions are verbal and held after emptying a bottle of wine on a Saturday night.

Yeah, occasionally there are bouts of someone hopping on the computer and someone else deciding to have conversations with people using that first someone's AIM name. rofl
