The child actor is actually quite bad at the beginning. She screams "Silent Hill" and it sounds so ******** cheesy. Then theres the part with the drawings...I wanted to scream it was so bad. In the first few minutes of the film it seemed like it was going to be another mediocre video game adaptation....OH was I wrong...so wrong. As soon as she gets into Silent Hill The movie goes completely awesome. it has a lot of scary moments. (the barb wire... gonk ) but like the series of games it is most disturbing over scary. Let me just say that as of now I think that Mortal Kombat has been dethroned "Best game adaptation." The audience I saw this with loved this movie, at the end of the film People (including myself) were clapping, and there were plenty of moments where people were screaming. I myself was trying to catch all the reffernces, oh the twist at the end is kind of messed up...
Monsters - monsters from 1, 2, and 3(I think) are in it. They created a new monster for the film called "The Janitor." He's in one scene but its disturbing as hell. OHMYGOD!!! PYRAMID HEAD (SH2) IS STILL ******** AWESOME!!! there are only a couple of scenes with him but each are ******** GREAT!!! one has one of the most disturbing murders I've seen in a film...
Characters - Only from 1. Dhalia - still a crazy old woman...
Cybil - still a scared female cop.
"The Nurse" from SH1 is in it too (I forget her name). She's only in it for one scene but its ******** up what happens to her.
Music - 1, 2, 3, 4 I'm personally a huge fan of the music from these games. Akira Yamaoka does great work. But what got me a little dissapointed was that there was no original music for the film. Each Song in the movie was from one of the games. The movies main theme seems to be "Promise (Reprise)" from SH2 a song which can only be described as...haunting.
