Yoder *hugs Bliss back* I'm conflicted with regard to affection, shall we say... I'm asexual but not aromantic, yet I'm too depressed now to be how I used to be back during my high school years. I look at some of my old posts and hardly recognize who I was. I haven't logged into my mule account in eons. I also recall having more than just that one for the purpose of joining every team during events. -hugs tightly- I understand. Believe me I do.
Anyways! ^^

That reminds me of my friend Hoku Sanada. She is Asexual as well, but does like romance.

Ah, not many of us around; rare that anybody knows even one. I am still a member of a guild for asexuals on Gaia, but it has been inactive for quite a while.

Gaia had better not wonder why the Guild system died. After the Great Guild Outage, it stopped receiving the features that the general forums were blessed with. On top of that, no new forum-specific features were ever added. I realize that the general forums now exist on an entirely separate codebase by now, but it's really no excuse to let what used to be such a huge facet of Gaia die a slow death. Granted, I know the devs have said that they won't do it unless they can be convinced of how it can directly result in revenue, to which I have to ask why locking money in guild bank accounts was ever implemented if they never had a clear roadmap to implementing features they could be spent on (sub-forums aside).[/rant]

perhaps we should just be glad they still work at all. This many forums has to take up a sigificant portion of the servers.

Very true. I suspect they are only keeping the guilds due to the outrage that would result from taking them down. neutral

The populace are not at the mercy of their king, the king is at the mercy of the populace.
Gaia will likely curtail the guilds at some point . . . but as long as they are used, we are safe. For now.

That's the way it _should_ be, but many a "king" has ignored their "populace" only to suffer the consequences of the poor decisions.

And thus their reign either ended in disaster, their own death, or often some of both. I always have thought that the point of power is not to use it as a cludgel. Used wisely, none will resent you for having that authority. Used poorly, one becomes a despot.

Sorry, got dragged to a bachelor party last-minute.
Sadly, power corrupts, often blinding those in power from seeing that. It could also be that those who strive for power are also usually the ones who should not have any (usually possessing at least 1 of the dark triad of personality).
