Is the modifier the number of extra points you put onto something? Like I'm genin, so I have 8 points for Int., Dex., etc...and then I distribute different points. Is the modifier the distribution that I put into areas, like having eight points for strength and adding seven (seven being the modifier)?

modifiers are what u use to learn the base value of your skills, and to add to dice rolls, for each stat you have a modifier, wich you can caculate on the way i quoted below. but first, as a genin you have 8 starting poins i each stat, and you can give out 32 points yourself to whatever stat you wish, for example, 5 extra pnts on strength, 8 extra on intelligence, and so forth, then you have your stats, and the modifiers are calculated, or to be loooked up, in the quote i gave below this is wat i wrote about them: -c4-cyberlink Caleo [[ so wait, how do u kno ur modifiers]] [[i'll give you a list [to what i think they are] till a stat of 20]] stat = mod 6, 7 = -2 8, 9 = -1 10 = 0 11, 12 = 1 13, 14 = 2 15, 16 = 3 17, 18 = 4 19, 20 = 5 [[so if you know math, above ten, your mod is as followed:]] [[stat/2, round that up (5.5 --> 6, 10.5 --> 11), outcome minus 5=mod]] example: [[-1- stat is 15, we divide through 2, so we have 7.5]] [[-2- we round up, 7.5 becomes 8]] [[-3- 8 minus 5 is 3, if you look in the list, you see it's correct note:[[below ten you round down on step -2-]] [[so 2.5 --> 2, 4.5 --> 4]]

So whatever my total is, I find it on that chart? Like my strength is 20, so I would have a modifier for that of +5?

Like my strength is 20, so I would have a modifier for that of +5? yes, if you're a ninjutsu type,i reccommend to have a high intelligence, for taijutsu strength, also, your intelligence mod is determining for your total bonus points on your skills (if you need it, i'll explain that tomorrow, i gtg to bed soon) and always keep to the lowest numbers availible for the stats, so 15, 17, 11, it makes a huge difference.

Alright. So, with the modifiers, anything under the category becomes the modifier? Like my strength, for that Climb and stuff are whatever the equation total is?

Um..I read the part on modifiers the other person put up...and it is a bit incorrect I believe.....for one, when you divide your stat by 2, you always round down (ex: 6.5 => 6), and another thing, the minimum number for a stat is -1...so anything under 10 is -1, no mater how far below ten it is....
The true equation for a mod is: (stat # - 10)/2

Man, this is a drag, you people and your lives.... lol jk, I have one, just it's on hold till I'm out of school so I can concentrate.... omg I only have 8 days left. YAY.....bah... people need to get on more, and the people in Sunagakure need to take their exams so we can go on so Kuro can become a Genin, and Amegakure needs a Jounin for Hishu, Kimihiro, Chizuna and Mei gonk
