themightyjello Rhoslyn Vernal He would be not at all useful for some of the other problems, like gangs. Or sea monsters, etc, etc. You underestimate the destructive power of heavy machinery. -Smacks the mod hammer down.- Too many machines, too OP, gtfo.

Much like in Oblivion, the higher level the participants are, the higher level their opponents will be.
So go on, bring Superman.
Just be ready to fight Batman Squads.

Okay, so, what we have so far: Three or four events, all connected by the same storyline and in Mainstream continuity, up to twelve people per event, and no respawns. There will be a some dice rolling, but I honestly want to keep it down because fun goes down as dice and rules go up.

There will be a some dice rolling, but I honestly want to keep it down because fun goes down as dice and rules go up. Dice-rolls will be done by moderators and the results will be posted with an addition to the player's post such as: "Player A attempts to hotwire a car that he broke the window out of and let himself into."
Dice roll: Results : Failure
Player A's attempts are unsuccessful and the car refuses to start. He must waste more time in trying again or give up all together.I'd also say that if someone wished to try again, there would be a failure penalty added to the score. Maybe a -1 or -2 to the chance.

Yay for brain-storms!
EDIT: Plot roughly decided. Bank robbery -> fix city/invesigation -> Whack-A-Don -> Cleanup.
The dots are being put on the ground and connected, and also: you will not get all of the information right off the bat. If you want to know something, have your character investigate and find out somehow.

What's the roll based on? You can't just have a flat rate where everyone has the same chances of succeeding.
And in other news, I just heard the collective moan from Cleveland when they found out LeBron James is going to play for the Heat. Those poor people. Their entire economy is based on LeBron James.

Eh, you know how a d20 roll goes, in general. Very easy (0), Easy (5), Average (10), Tough (15), Challenging (20), Formidable (25), Heroic (30), Nearly impossible (40).
What is easy for one character to do is not easy for another, per se. I would expect a street punk to be better at hotwiring a car than a tournament fighter. It might be a 10 for him, and a 25 for the fighter.

About the MSN thing... I can chat with Hotmail accounts from the Yahoo Mail page. I just need to know if I can join a chat with multiple people from it, or if I have to download Yahoo IM (because apparently, for some odd reason, I guess Windows Live Messenger won't install on vanilla XP)
