Nightsnow Well, unfortunately, it's because of these stereotypes and mindset that makes fighting all the more...lacking, in some way, shape or form. I've seen more and more people creating characters that are either armored like the medieval era, or characters that make the HULK look like a pansy pushover. It's almost rare to see fighters that actually kite anymore...which is a sad thing, in my opinion.
Apparently to the audience, if you're not making things explode or going aggressively at someone, you're doing something wrong.
You're right in some aspects, Snow. A lot of the "armor" and medieval stuff is just due to an interest in the workings and methods of ancient culture and society. And keep in mind that kiting doesn't appeal to everyone. It's just like playing a ranged fighter. It takes the right mindset and drive to do it. A lot of people would rather try to think ho they can best punch and kick someone, rather than try to trap them, lure them, and avoid them to look for the right opportunity. I commend you for enjoying and utilizing a kiting fighting style. More power to you for making it work. But that style is an acquired taste, and it's a taste most people don't develop. So, instead of finding it sad that it's underused, take pride in the fact that you make it work and that it makes you stand out, style-wise, as a fighter.

Excellent, Herra. That'll definitely get you a promotion.
And on another sidenote, SLEEP I GO.

Of course, of course, that's the best way to get a promotion. Making your boss terrified of you, via broom twirling, and striking.
Back into the warhouse I go!
Mwuahaha!

The Last Pedigree 10 inches...sounds a bit rude, doesn't it? The ladies don't complain. (most of them don't survive, either)
