"I'm sure you remember the fiasco that happened when Chase showed up. How he and Li had a confrontation in front of the freehold. Well he cast a cantrip on Li and it worked. That meant that he was enchanted, and it probably meant that all the rest of you watching were enchanted. The Lady's love of mortals is well known, so there was no doubt as to who had arranged for all of you to become enchanted. We were being spied on, and the spy got a message through before the Lady incinerated him. Li was targeted specifically because he stood up to chase. The one who abducted him hates mortals, and loves torture. He also has a grudge against the Lady and was trying to hurt her, both by taking Li and by bringing the police her. It probably wouldn't have happened if Chase hadn't broken our cover. Now that we have Li back, he is bound to be angry and might try to retaliate. That is security for all of you has been quadrupled. That's why I've been so busy. On top of that, we have been collecting dross like crazy in order to provide the Lady with all that she is going to be needing without depleting the duchy treasury. No one can know about this. I wasn't even supposed to tell you. Knowing what you do now could put you in danger, but I just couldn't keep it from you any longer. No one can know, not even members of the household. Do you understand?"

Mae didnt know how to respond. She was frustrated, angry, cold, and just depressed. "why would someone be so cold hearted in doing something like this." she stopped after that. She forgot for a second that Thor, the man who sat before her on his knees, was a cold blooded killer. She leanded back in the chair and let the tears roll down. "hes back though..."

I may be brutal sometimes, but it is over relatively quickly. Seeing what Li has been through turns even my stomach, and redcaps are known for being able to stomach just about anything." He could see that she was traumatized, so he lifted her up and sat down in the chair with her on his lap, and just cradled her. That's when he noticed the bruises on her fingers. ((haha, remember that part? i was waiting for this)) "Mae! what happened to your hands?! Did someone hurt you?!"

She leaned up against him. She felt better when she was with him. no matter what was going on, just knowing he was there seemed to set her at ease. "oh.." she brought her fingers up. "... well... kinda.." she seemd kinda embarrassed about it. The bruises on her knees were visible but almost gone by now but the ones on her fingers were fresh and still a little purple. She quickly crossed her arms around her stomach and hit her hands behind her back. She pressed herself against him hopeing that would make him forget.

((i sent it..it was hard thinking that all up from pure memory..but as soon as one of my friends gets back and i switch out my 2nd book and get the 1st one from her ill finish some more...and Mari...thats probaly not even HALF of what i still need to tell ya..to put it bluntly the seires its over 1600 pages..=P))He grinned and half pulled her closer and half moved closer "If it makes ya feel better i could buy some inflatable pool..smaller then this and we could work our way up so this doesnt happen again..but then again i dont ever swim..i just hold my breath for musical reasons...so your probaly fine the way you are..."then he corrected himself "You are fine the way you are..well besides the bleeding in all.."and gave her a big smile

April leaned closer, if at all possible. She went pail when he mentioned an inflatable pool "thats not funny..." but then laughed at his little bleeding joke. "well then I just wont let myself bleed again..." she ran her hand though his hair and then touched his forhead. "you know. you should get a scar just like me now... well I hope it doesnt scar..."
She pulled her hands away and didnt say anything. She didnt want to scare him but she couldnt exactly just come out and tell him that she did it to herself.

Kia heads to the changing room, a few moments latter she emerges wearing a purple sarong. her hair is pulled back and out of the way, the drying tendrils curling around their fasteners. She is wearing flat shoes that she can easily kick off, and though you cannot see them, she has two flat blades strapped to her thighs. She carries a small bag on her hip.

Turns her head to look at him, "What happened May, tell me how you got those bruises. I need to know how you got those bruises." It was easy for Mae to tell that he had gone very tense.
