Debating; sleep or stay awake?

Ross:
If you built the character to focus on one style of combat, pretty powerful in the consideration of that focus.

If you tried to hybridize or split something, it'd be mediocre all around. Like how most point systems turn out.

That would be an excellent way to introduce your new character, Roen. Killing that lolpire.

I doubt we'll succeed. KB's going to kill all the NPCs, and I'll have Quinn barely escape with his life.

Well, you carry the cross, and you're backed up by God. Or by someone's God. I have no clue what you people are worshipping.

Dealing with someone like, KB, shouldn't be that much of a problem. If Sey can hug him, and basically kill him... I don't see the problem in you hacking him up.

Sleep, it's the best high ever. You pass out for a few hours, hallucinate vividly, then experience amnesia about the whole thing, and afterwards, you feel better.

GD: I am going to figure that a lot of the points would be spent on actual, mortal stuff. You know, because a lot of people have basic skills and defining physical characteristics that're relevant. And yes, a lot of characters ARE focused on being really good at one or two things. Hence trying to figure out how strong it'd be for that limit, for... stuff. I'm doing. Later.

...But you'll still get guys like me, who're spellsword/battlemages.

Yeah, you're right there. But if a group of profiles was subjected to a point alotting system like that, you'd see a lot more "glass-cannon" casters and "Flesh-mountain" fighters.

EDIT: Snow:
You're right, but in a point-based scaling system, in order to be an efficient battlemage, your melee and magic capabilities would be generally less than someone dedicated to melee or magic.

It'd be like putting magic and melee on opposite ends of a set of scales. I think you guys are smart enough to piece together what I'm talking about. The balance and advantages or disadvantages to having to distribute everything you want your character to be capable of amongst an alotted point-spread setup. You can rarely have the "best of both worlds" in that scenario.

Sey has tits. We Paladins don't.

Why? Pretty sure people would buy mid-tier Brick Powers in the process of making them, like pretty much what already happens anyway... I could try to see how much my character would cost, but I'm pretty sure he'd exceed 600.

Huge brawler melee types.

In comparison to

Tiny kiting caster types.

EDIT:

Ross: It would really just depend on how far into the spectrum of magic-ability and melee-ability you wanted to go. Perhaps, I should say physical ability rather than melee, so it can include even mundane ranged weapons.

I'm just trying to say that characters like... Deitric might be hard to pull off. From what I gather, he's a big strong dude, with weapons, and with potent magical/elemental capability.

Depending on how you divide point expenditures and how in depth you break down abilities, you could make it highly possible, or nearly impossible to build a character like Deitric, or even Drejak for that matter.

I'm not comparing the two, but from what I've heard they're both characters who are strong with melee in some form or another, weapons in one or multiple forms, and have magical capacities that when utilized to their max can rival those of most mages.

This made me recall the last dream I had, in which I was groping a girl from behind.
...It was an awesome dream too.

Damn. Now I feel ronery.

Anyways, Point taken.
SLEEP I GO.

In other words, brutes or ridiculously armored people. Why am I not surprised?
It's sad how people tend to lean to brute strength instead of those who fight in a kiting style. Apparently, being defensive in play is a huge no-no in this tournament. D:
