As Nami approached Neko's office she paused, eyes raking over the broken door. "Damnit..." She hissed, summoning her Byakugan. Instantly the interior of the office lit up like a beacon, the chakra nearly blinding.
Another curse fled her lips and she instantly dropped the bloodline, instead forcing a small barrier of chakra beneath her bare feet to protect them from the cold as she stepped up to the door which was fogged with steam, a result of the office's temperature meeting that of the outer hall.
She would have stared in wonder at the icy appearance but concern for her sensei overpowered any awe she felt as she moved forwards, breath instantly forming clouds in front of her face.
She didn't see the other person inthe room, instead going straight to the balcony and peering over. It was hard to decipher objects, let alone if Neko was down there at all and so, preparing herself for the onslaught, she uttered 'Byakugan', the blinding display of energy filling her vision.
She was easily able to pick Neko's out from the other and pinpointed it to the rockface beside the frozen waterfall. "Oh god...how long has he been down there?"
But even as she spoke, she felt herself slow, weakness sweeping through her.
The other girl was already over the balcony, freeing Neko from his icy prison. Nami grasped at the railing, simply breathing for the moment, watching.
As Neko hit the ground, he froze again and this time Nami took the chance to jump the balcony, fighting past the oppressive feeling. Working a handseal, she shot strings of chakra towards him, each heating the thin layer of ice on his skin.
Rubbing at her arms and forcing her own energy against that which pressed against her, she dropped to her knees.
How can he still be alive? The Hypothermia alone should have killed him.
