Women just can't see active combat - can't MO regular grunt. But everyone in the Marines has to be able to pass a rifleman's shot (something like hit a target at 200 yards). My mother was in the Marines and she hit like performance level grade, or something like that. It's like medium. xd My dad was sharpshooter, and I think Hes said she was expert or marksman (or something of that nature).

I highly doubt you'd get raped Kobei, but that's not for lack of good looks hah hah.
My grandfather served in WW2 and my Uncle was in the airforce, but family hasn't had any effect on my decision. I haven't spoken with my parents about it yet, but I will within the week. Probably going to get enlisted tomorrow (well...today) or the next day. At the quickest I can be headed to boot camp in two weeks. Not sure I want to go that fast, but we'll see. I'll be joinin the Army, though not the Marines. I've heard too much s**t about the Marines that just doesn't sit well with me.

Marines is the way to go. I talked to a marine a couple of months ago, he spent his entire active time overseas puttering around the mediterranean on a sub playing on the X-Box and PS3.

Meh, I still don't see how you're immediately ruling out Airforce and the Navy. Personally I think the airforce might be more fun, but that's just me. What also bothers me is you want to enlist before actually telling your parents about it. That seems at the least a little inconsiderate. I also don't think you've put enough thought into the reason you want to enlist. Not much in that announcement you made lead very well to the decision to enlist.

I would go into the army if I believed in the war....and If they would accept me...I think I'm too short though... that sounds really stupid I know but I think they would consider it some disability even though I'm not a dwarf.
But I have a friend in the Army he's in Iraq and is the ammo loader for a gunning platform called the Paladin...or something like that. But his battery is like stuck on paperwork and clean up...I don't think you'd see a ton of action.
But yea, go talk to your parents first.

I don't believe in the war either..... in the sense that it's not a war. It's an occupation. It'll take more than a few stupid twits with rocket launchers for it to be called a war.
That said, if nothing else, America's military is still one of the best, even if America rates as one of the worst countries in several other attributes. I'm still not entirely sure what D's planning to get out of the military. Best case scenario is he gets out of boot camp and doesn't see any action, worst case is probably he spends a year over in Iraq with not much to do.

Phia, the M109 A6 (I think 6 anyways) Paladin isn't a gun platform, it's a mobile artillery unit.
